This Year's Model Updates:

The Pacifica is an all-new six-passenger vehicle that combines the attributes of a wagon, minivan and SUV.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, gets expensive when you add high-end options, fussy climate and radio controls.

The gas mileage is very much less than the stated amount on the sticker. Various features dont always work, maybe 50% of the time, (auto lights off and on. garage door opener feature etc) the brakes squeek.

I bought this car against my better judgment. I did some research, and found most of the reviews to be negative. Ive had to replace the blower module, both headlamps. The heater controls never seem to work right. It burns a quart of oil in between oil changes, and the front end makes all kinds of noises when turning. By far the worst car Ive ever owned.

I loved the car when I bought. It is definitely a safe car to drive, but it wreaks havoc in your wallet. Does anyone want unexplainable stalling? How about heat when the blower motor and resistor go out? Or the best of all experience shaking in the front of their car because you have to replace the outer tie rod and nut set? Dont forget about 10,000 miles later you have to replace the inner ones one more thing dont forget to add a new set of tires about every two years. Suggestion invest in an extended warranty or get a second job.

I thought I was getting a bargain but it got me. Since we bought it in Jan 05 I have replaced an axle, axle seals, oil pan, rear differential and now the transmission. When it runs its nice but now I wish I could get rid of it. Unfortunately the Pacifica loses value so quickly you are likely to be thousands in the hole the second you drive off the lot. Its very tempting to look at these used Pacifica as a bargain, but remember you are really gambling with this car. You may be the guy who gets lucky or you be the guy like me who has spent $6000+ in repairs in the last two years

This Chrysler product has been the worst vehicle from the car to the dealer! I owned Jeep products for 15 years but I never had a car I cant wait to get rid of! From the blind spot, the low gas mileage (17mpg), continuous check engine lights, the rear hatch, limited interior room to the dealer that cant fix things, its been a real dog!

  • Beautifully Engineered - Not - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Have owned this for 2 years, love the car but have had problems with power drivers seat (motor replaced 2x- even now the plastic that goes aginst my calves is not properly installed - mildew odor when driver window opened - back 3 or so times - finally found clogged drain but smell continues - had problem with front end (think it was tie rod) but due to way car engineered needed to replace drive shaft (?) for $800.00 - of course not under warranty - replaced brakes - rusted and warped rotors - latch that allows entrance to the trunk storage and jack snapped - so I was unable to get access to jack - I knew about the blind spots but did not expect it to be so bad - bad wind noise

  • Problem - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

My pacifica 2002 is NEW! Has less than 5,000 miles on it. The longer I drive it it automatically shuts down and wont start again until hours later. For Example, I pulled up (fortunately) in front of my house. The car literally died. Could not start it until the next morning. Something has got to be wrong with it mechanically built at the factory. How can I explain what is the matter? It seems the longer you drive it then it can simply stop on its own. Im afraid to drive it now for fear of an accident on a highway or local traffic. anyone else have that problem. How do I get it fixed?

We recently bought an 04 Pacifica. It is very pleasing to look at inside and out but there are some definite issues with the car. First, 250 hp seems like a lot but it is a bit of a dog with the AWD (15.3 mpg avg to boot, yikes!). Basically it is as fast as the minivan you are probably looking to replace, no better. Second, if you are over 62" pay attention to front seat comfort. The seats are a bit too firm for my tastes and dont go back far enough for me so unfortunately commuting isnt the pleasure I expected. Overall, I think the car is a good value as a used vehicle. Its pleasing on the eye inside and out. It just needs more power and a more comfortable driving position.

  • Would not buy again - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

There should be a rear air conditioner and there are to many blind spots hard to see behind when backing. GM builds a Cadillac that gets over 20mph in town with a V-8. Poor performance for the mileage on the Pacifica. Will not buy again.

  • Chrysler does not care..... - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

    * I purchased this vehicle for my wife and 3 small kids. Getting use of the third/rear seat is dirricult. ***Next the radio is all static. My wife needs the local radio for school closings and such...we get alot of snow. Well when we brought the car in we were told that the radio is not working by the dealership. After wating 6 months for a solution they tell me that they will replace the antenna. They put it right where my cargo roof trunk would go and the radio still doesnt work right. Chrysler wont/doesnt return my calls.
