A touchscreen navigation system is optional on Tahoe this year, and all models now come standard with the overhead rear liftgate (with separate rear lift-glass). The Z71 off-road package can now be had with two-wheel drive.

Pros:
  • Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, numerous available amenities.
Cons:
  • Spotty build quality, interior materials could use improvement.

Compared to a 1996 Tahoe and 1999 suburban that I previously owned, this one is the most fun! Handling is great in parking lots and has a lot of power to get by the trucks on highway. The interior is driver friendly, with controls at your finger tips!

Ive owned this Tahoe for a month and I have to say that the handling and 4X4 Autotrack is exceptional. All I do is just step on the gas when in AUTO mode and it senses the wheel slippage and 4wheel drive kicks in without even feeling anything. I had just bought a 2004 Ford F350 of which I only had 7000 miles on when I traded in. I had trouble with the 4wheel drive system and it was a monster to steer when in 4X4. Nothing, smooth there at all or dependable. Especially when you are getting on in years. Chevy workers my hats off to you and the American worker. If we can make a vehicle like this. No reason why we cant accomplish anything.

I have always wanted a truck and I got my chance after my brother bought my Honda. I am about 60 230lbs so I needed something with some space. Picked up a fully loaded Z71 and havent looked back since. Smooth and powerful engine but mouse quiet interior. 2nd row buckets make inside look like a living room and my kids love having their own seats. Bose/Navi system are great and add a sweet touch while the Rear DVD keeps kids busy. The DVD also has input/output ports for my game systems! Very easy to drive and handles like a car but doesnt sip gas like one. BEWARE! GAS GODZILLA! I fill up every 10 or so days. I also live in the city but wow. Gonna trade up in 2007 if GM develops a Hybrid!

I just bought the truck from a 1 owner who kept great care of the car. It has two security systems and only 37000 miles I couldnt be happier. Love the memory seats and great performance.

No problems, I own two Hondas and I wish that they would make something of equal size. I will buy another Tahoe

After a long wait I finally pulled the trigger on my new Z-71 Tahoe. After trading up from a 96 2Dr. to this 2005 there is no comparison. Too many favorites to list here....

Bought this 2005 Tahoe Z-71 just over three weeks ago, after years of Ford SUVs and most recently a Sequoia. Impressed with the smooth power and ride of this vehicle, XM radio and OnStar system. Seats are comfortable, four-wheel drive system is excellent and Bose speakers are top notch. Surprisingly, the quality seems as good as the Sequoia initially, and better than the Fords Ive had (Expeditions, Explorers, an Escape and a Mercury Mountaineer). Like the conservative styling. SUVs are primarily designed to be functional, not beautiful though this is an attractive, rugged looking vehicle in Z-71 trim.

..never thought Id like a Chevy. Fun to drive, 17mph in town, 26 on hwy (not too bad for a large SUV). Lots of fun bells & whistles. Just a few little adjustment would make it perfect!!

I have always admired the look of the Z71 Tahoe, particularly in black. IMO, no Tahoe and not many other SUVs look better than this. When I was notified by GMAC that I could "Pull Ahead" 9 months early on my 02 Trailblazer lease, and they gave me some other incentives as well,I jumped at the chance. The comfort, ride and handling of the Z71 is outstanding - equal to or better than any car Ive ever driven. At 75 MPH, the ride is smooth and quiet, with the engine positively loafing at less than 2K RPM I am very pleased after nearly 1 month of ownership. If the reliability holds up over the 48 month Smartbuy, Ill probably be driving a new Tahoe off the lot at Bast Chevy in 2008
