The 2009 Chevrolet Malibu undergoes a number of key changes. The six-speed automatic becomes more widely available with the four-cylinder engine, and the four is now standard instead of the V6 on the top-level LTZ trim. Bluetooth connectivity also debuts as an option, while stability control becomes standard across the lineup. Power-adjustable pedals are no longer offered.
- Strong performance from V6, excellent ride and handling balance, roomy cabin, comfortable seats, high crash test scores, solid fit and finish.
- Some subpar cabin materials, no rear center armrest, fussy manual-shift feature, a few key luxury features are unavailable.

Love this car - 2009 Chevrolet Malibu
By campbell - June 29 - 5:30 amI did a lot of shopping around before purchasing my 09 Chevy Malibu. I have to say I fell in love with this car from the time I got behind the wheel. This car is by far the best in value and performance of other leading vehicles. I have the 2.4L4cyl and I am getting about 28 mpg on an average highway drive. It has enough horepower for me to take control of the highway driving. Love the new design of the Malibu, I have been asked by several people if the car was a BMW. This car has a European luxury style to it and looks sharp. The interior is very roomy and designed for comfort. You want options, this car has them. Love the free OnStar and the discount from the insurance company.

world class car - 2009 Chevrolet Malibu
By brit - June 28 - 12:27 pmThis is one auto I am proud to have in my driveway and be seen driving on the road. This is the LTZ model and it has everything the CTS I traded in had on it plus more. I wanted a navigation system but it is not available. I am not disappointed as I love the OnStar nav system. The benefits of this GPS is that while driving I can have the route downloaded to my vehicle. With my other car with a navigation built in I have to stop the car and put in the info. The dials are very classy as is the two tone interior. One of the best deals I have made.

By B&K in SC - June 25 - 8:11 pmThe only complaint I have had was that we got a bad tire from the factory (noises like a broken belt) had to get a little ugly with the dealer, but finally got it replaced. Very good buying experience and an excellent vehicle. Like I said in the title, its the first Chevy that I have even looked at in years. I think the LTZ is a better car than an Accord or Camry for less money, VERY underrated.

By Bill - June 21 - 1:04 amI did my home work before deciding to buy this car. So far I am delighted with it. Lots of options for the money handles like a dream rides like a much higher end car. From the first one I seen I fell in love with its sleek and sporty look. But still classy enough for me being in my mid fifties. I have only had it for a short time but I could be no more pleased with the car than I am.

By Niceride - June 17 - 4:39 pmBeen driving for several weeks. Got white w/ cocoa and cashmere. Outstanding looking car. The car is a pleasure to drive. Very comfortable interior. Everything is well placed. Fit and Finish is outstanding. GM has done a great job with this vehicle. I traded in a Honda Civic which was also a great car, but you cant compare these two vehicles. I cant match the MPG of the Civic, but everything else exceeds the Honda so far. I drove Altima, Maxima, Accord, CTS, STS, MKZ and TL prior buying. I feel the LTZ (for what you pay) hangs with or exceeds with the aforementioned vehicles. Cruises at 75-80 at 1900rpm w/ very, very little road noise. Just drive one.

Thought we may not like the 4-cyl engine, but it has plenty of pep and will get you off the on-ramp in plenty of time. Compared to my Olds, the interior looks a little low-class, but color combo and styling are great

The 4 has got more pep than I expected its ultra quiet the attention to detail is fantastic the layout and interior are two thumbs up and the overall value is tremendous! Vs. the new Accord - I had rented the new Accord and this hands down just handles the road better and the interior is way ahead. Vs. the new Camry - While I like the Camrys exterior design better, I would give both cars equal rating for the interior however you cant beat the Malibus overall value. Very happy with my choice neighbors are a bit shocked I bought a Chevy based on my prior car, but are praising it and pondering one for them.

By Barbie - June 4 - 5:27 pmOur black, LTZ, with dark tinted windows is very beautiful and very sexy. It turns heads everywhere. We loved it when a guy in a Cadillac CTS said "Hey great looking car!" It is fun to drive and the on star navigation feature gives us peace of mind when we are traveling. Super car!

Very happy with my new Malibu - 2009 Chevrolet Malibu
By Sportyndm - May 27 - 6:50 pmI got the LTZ V6. I got it for college and life after. So far I love everything about it! Its fun to drive and handles very well in any situation. Even with the V6 i get great MPG.... on the Highway i was getting 31.7!!! and its rated at 26. In town about 19, rated at 16, I believe. You cant go wrong with the malibu. I was comparing the altima, impala, and the malibu. This car feels so solid and responsive compared to the others.
