Overview & Reviews
The midsize Malibu has been totally redesigned for 2004. It now rides on an entirely new vehicle platform and offers a more powerful V6 along with must-have safety features like side curtain airbags and adjustable pedals.
- Balanced ride and handling characteristics, plenty of passenger and cargo space, ample safety and convenience features, innovative remote start feature.
- Down on power compared to its competitors, lackluster interior, no manual transmission available.

Economy plus great handling - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By tao - March 23 - 10:46 amAfter almost 3 years with this car, I am very pleased with it. I enjoy the handling and the zippy V-6, which gets over 30 mpg on the highway. It is chock-full of features, such as side- curtain airbags, all of which were much more expensive on import competitors.

A Lot of Car for the Money - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By spud90 - March 15 - 2:00 amA truly "American" car. Plenty of power from the V6 and a quiet, roomy interior. This car is built for the freeway rather than hairpin curves. Just set the cruise control at any sane or relatively insane speed and those interstate miles quickly melt away. The electric power steering offers very little feedback and the suspension is somewhat soft, although I always felt in control of the vehicle.

Superb car! - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By jpiemont - March 8 - 2:00 amThe redisigned Malabus are great, as long as you get the bigger V-6 engine. The extra features are great too, like remote starter on a cold day and the way the seat fold down.

Love my boo - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Aleshea - March 2 - 12:39 amI am pleasantly surprised to have an affordable, reliable, American made car. My family of four drove on a long 1000 mile road trip in the Malibu. We got great gas mileage (33 mpg) and we were very comfortable. I love driving this car and found the price very reasonable. It was an easy choice!

Best Bang for the Buck - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Sgtpara - January 25 - 2:00 amI did a lot or researching on line and to get everything I wanted in a car it would have costs 30K or more. The Malibu save me 10K plus it has all the great safety features, good ride etc. My only concern will be the reliability. However, my other two cars have been GM vehicles and I have not had a problem with either one. If you are on the fence. Go for it.

Best Car I have owned! - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Larry Bowser - December 14 - 2:00 amI owned a 2003.....This car is not even the same, at all. I have never driven a car that has the handling, ever. I let my friends drive it and the only way for them to descibe is, it drives itself! I beg someone to find a car for $30,000 with the same ride experience.
