Overview & Reviews
The midsize Malibu has been totally redesigned for 2004. It now rides on an entirely new vehicle platform and offers a more powerful V6 along with must-have safety features like side curtain airbags and adjustable pedals.
- Balanced ride and handling characteristics, plenty of passenger and cargo space, ample safety and convenience features, innovative remote start feature.
- Down on power compared to its competitors, lackluster interior, no manual transmission available.

Magnificant Chevy - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Frank Bates - June 29 - 5:38 pmBy far, my 2004 malibu is the best car I have ever owned. This is after several GM, Ford, and Honda products. At 13,000 miles, nothing is wrong, and it gets more than 30 miles per gallon on the highway.

My 2004 Chevy Malibu - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By USFIslandchild - June 27 - 2:00 amI love my 2004 Chevy Mailbu. I would suggest it to anyone who is looking to buy a midsized car. The 2003 doesnt even compare to the 2004. The car seems to have European style, feel, and comfort. I chose the LS V6 with the following options that I would recommend: side-curtain airbags and remote start (one of my favorites). Please feel free to email me if you are considering purchasing anytime soon.

Great Car - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Malibu Guy - June 26 - 7:21 amThis is my third Malibu. This new version is by far the best one yet. In over a year, I only had it back to the dealer for the required state inspection. I paid 70% of the sticker price - quite a deal and car. Are there better cars? Sure, but youll pay a lot more for them. This is an excellent value for my money. I like the idea of the SS and will buy one if the price is reasonable.

2004 Malibu Maxx LT Model - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Henri - May 4 - 10:00 amOverall the quality of the workmanship was very good interior & exterior. The 3.5 engine was a little slow on the pick up in lst gear range, but the second range was very satisfactory & smooth. Engine is very compact & every unit (battery--air filter--water reservoir ETC) was easy accessable & not crammed at all. One nice feature is the electric steering. Mileage overall combination Hwy & city average was 23.5. I imagine a long mileage highway trip will produce more.

I LOVE MY MALIBU.... - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By TaniaJo - May 4 - 10:00 amMy first brand new car, and I am loving every minute of driving time! I did have some problems, but the dealership took care of me and my Malibu. My parents just purchased a LS Malibu!

Great Car - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By VicR - March 24 - 1:47 amI have owned my Malibu LT for over a year. The engine is not as peppy as my former car (1999 Mustang), but the fuel mileage more than makes up for that. Like some other reviewers, I had a steering column issue when the car was 6 months old. The dealer fixed it and I have had no other problems. Im short and this is most comfortable car I have ever driven due the adjusting steering wheel and pedals. My husband is over 6 feet tall and he has plenty of headroom. Great car!

LT: Great Value - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By ejcamc - February 2 - 12:34 pmHad LT since Oct 04. My main concern in choosing the LT over Camry and Accord was quality. So far, my concerns were unwarranted. You get a lot more for less money than you do with Camry or Accord. Especially like ABS brakes included. Like the ability to fold front and back seats. Gas mileage is 30+ on highway. I like the styling of the car and the brushed leather seats add a nice touch of elegance.

Perfect! - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By MaxCalifornia - December 31 - 2:00 amIm astonished at how perfect this car has been. It has no perceptible build problems whatsoever, gets 25+ MPG, is very quiet (for the class), has plenty of power for acceleration and passing, and looks great.
