  • Good Start So Far - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

I would have never considered a Chevrolet car before this purchase. So far we are not dissapointed. With the rebate and supplier discount the value is unbeatable. Sticker $25,100, paid $20,168. We have a family member with an Accord EX that has a few less options and only has a 4 cylinder but paid a little over $21,000. The ride is very smooth and quiet, if not a little soft, but I didnt expect a sports sedan. The electric power steering seems to work well, but there is too much assist causing you to feel disconnected. If this car is as reliable as the "new" chevy claims to be it looks like they have a winner.

  • Good, but still not a Japanese car...... - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

Had this car one month and have a love/hate relationship with this car. Car has a defective transmission that GM is aware of but has no idea how to fix. Car moans on acceleration which is annoying and shows that the workmanship issues at GM are still there. The other day the chevy logo fell off the car on my driveway!!!! The looks are great but the front end is just plain ugly. The drivers seat has many adjustments except tilt (the one that I need) I am very uncomfortable driving this car. I am sure this car was meant to go up against Camry and Accord but I am afraid when it comes to quality, GM loses again.

I have only had this car for a very short time. Already been to the dealer for a defect in the headliner. Nice ride, Could use a little more power engine wise.

  • Malibu for who? - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

Great Handling Great Riding AND fUN to Drive.Very thoughtful features like fold down rear seats-the latches are in the trunk. But beware of the electrical system 3 weeks after driving the car the power steering quit! Entire steering column had to be replaced-and the cd skips and the cruise control does not work properly-hopefully dealer will be able to fix the cd and cruise.

  • Strange Pricing - Love Car - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

Like many other reviewers I love this car compared to everthing else in its price range. Car seems more refined. Drive out price was 23K after buying new tag. Dealer gave us a 3K Rebate instead of 2K with proof of ownership of non GM car - Strange I find that nowhere on the internet.

  • I had questions?? - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

I was a little reluctent - going into a less expensive car - I always had more expensive or foreign autos. I was wrong - this Malibu is all and more than I thought it would be!! We loaded this auto up with, almost everything GM offed, it is great. It handles as good as my Audi A4 at half the price!! Excellent power and ride. What a good choice we made - Very Happy.

  • Poor Quality - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

This Malibu has been out-of-service four times in four months for engine component defects and power steering defect. Some initial interior problems as well.

  • 2004 MALIBU VIEW - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

COMFORTABLE CAR FOR ME TO DRIVE TO WORK, 35 MILES ONE WAY. PLENTY OF POWER TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. QUIET CABIN FOR A CAR PRICED UNDER $20,000, MANY STANDARD FEATURES FOR THE PRICE TOO. MY FUEL USE HAS BEEN GOOD, 34 MPG WITH AC ON. THE DEALER HAD TO TURN THE FRONT ROTORS AT 3000 MILES DUE TO A VIBRATION IN THE BRAKES.

  • 04 Malibu - power steering problem - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
    By -

I liked the look of the redesigned Malibu. The interior is roomy and comfortable and the car came very, very nicely equipped compared to comparable import models. However, with only a little over 1500 miles on the vehicle, I encountered a problem with the power steering and the car is now sitting at the dealer awaiting repairs and the required parts on backorder.
