This Year's Model Updates:

The performance-oriented SS model has been dropped from the 2010 Chevy Impala's lineup. The only other item of note is that the less expensive 1LT trim level can now be ordered with a new Convenience package that largely takes the place of the now-discontinued 2LT trim.

Pros:
  • Smooth ride, seating for six passengers with available front bench, big trunk.
Cons:
  • Rental-fleet styling, cheap-looking interior materials on some models, so-so handling.

  • best vehicle ive ever owned - 2010 Chevrolet Impala
    By -

Test drove it 2 plus years ago loved it then and as it sits in my driveway now I still love it. I purchased a 10 Impala LT only 1 yr old with 15,000 miles. It now has well over 43,000 and the only thing its needed was a battery and the air recirculation valve for emissions. (both replaced under war) It rides great, for an American V6 the mpg is not bad at all I get 25 plus on the highway and right around 19 in town. interior is comfy any problems are my fault. only issue Im having right now is the pass front window motor is slow. with proper maintenance and driving less like and idiot and more like a responsible driver and these cars should last a very long time.

  • Easy to Drive Car - 2010 Chevrolet Impala

I like how the car drives with the soft suspension, it absorbs bumps very well. All models come with an 8 way power driver seat with lumbar. I am tall and I have plenty of head/leg room. Mine has the floor shifter and it isnt marked, when shifting you have to look at the dash, very cheap. I like the interior layout of the radio, climate controls, and dashboard. Very straight forward and easy to use/read. On the downside the interior is full of cheap plastic/ fake wood. The car has a huge trunk, it nice going shopping knowing you have room. The back seat is small for a large car. I didnt have the car long enough to comment about reliability.

  • Good value - 2010 Chevrolet Impala

I bought this car August of 2010. It was between the Malibu and Impala. I was able to get the Impala cheaper than the Malibu. So I got more for my money. As of today I have 21,000 miles on it. This car has been great except of the steering was squeeking and the rear struts where squeeking after owning it for three months. But I took it in and the greased the steering nuckle and replaced the rear struts. No other problems since. That could have been the problem. I recently noticed that my front rotors needs to be turned, but the way we drive in detroit, it happens to all the cars I own lol. I get 29mpg, and thats great for the way I drive.

  • V-6 for the price of a 4. - 2010 Chevrolet Impala

2nd Impala (had a 2007) and it is very good, improved brake rotors, lots of standard stuff (ABS, Traction Control, a great utility car since it has power for the Mountains ( 4s are a pain in CO). Ride is quiet, sound is OK, price was terrific.

  • Alignment issue - 2010 Chevrolet Impala

Drive is good, but the cars alignment drifts and pulls right. i need to tug constantly to left at both slow and highway speeds.

  • Base Model plus $4,000 Rebate = Bargain - 2010 Chevrolet Impala
    By -

You get a lot with the base "LS" model Has: cruise, tilt, air, tire monitor, onstar with built in phone service 1 year free, XM CD radio, electric seat 3.5 V6, remote door & trunk, electric windows, traction control, 17" tires. Wanted to go for a Hyundai Sonata but after test drive of the Sonata found it to be a dog off the line until about 20 mph, interior was nosier compared to the Impala and its trunk was very small. Can get 33 mpg at 65 mph with a v6.

  • LS & $4000 rebate = Best Value - 2010 Chevrolet Impala
    By -

The base model comes with almost everything you want. V6, power seat, cruise, air, 17" tires, power windows, tire pressure monitor, remote locks, onstar, XM etc. Average 30-33 on HWY at 65 mph Rides quieter and better than a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Sonata 4 cyl has great top end but is a dog off the line until approx 20 mph Malibu does not have a 6 cyl, take that!

  • Overall Splendid Car - 2 design flaws - 2010 Chevrolet Impala
    By -

The 2010 Impala LTZ is overall a wonderfully designed vehicle, inside and out. Operation of the car is very intuitive and sensible. The LTZ has good lower lumbar support (unlike the LT) however, the head-rest is TOO FAR FORWARD creating neck pain, especially on long drives (it is a mystery as to why the headrests on cars are being pushed forward to unnatural and difficult positions). The car is responsive and powerful however seems to have less responsiveness and pickup than the LT (another mystery), despite a theoretically more powerful engine, dual exhaust, etc. Onstar is SPLENDID indeed! Sunroof inside shade does not open up the full way (to enable full exposure of the sky-window).

  • Fleet Car - 2010 Chevrolet Impala

I use this car as my company car. My last one was a 2007 Impala and had 100K before turning it on my 2010.I already have 25K on this one and had not had any problems . The 2010 model eliminates most of the Impala badging on the outside of the car making it a little more appealing. If you are looking for a large size sedan for basic transportation and no frills this may be the car for you.
