The supercharged Impala SS joins the lineup for 2004. Besides offering 240 horsepower, the SS features a tightened suspension to allow it to take corners with a bit more gusto. Base and LS models have redesigned bench and bucket seats, and a sport appearance package is now available on the base sedan.

By J NEFF - April 19 - 10:00 amThis is the first new car that my wife and I have purchased in 17 years. Our last car was a 1987 Mercury Cougar. We enjoyed that vehicle very much also. I like the ride of the Impala, the seating is comfortable and the view of the dash instruments is good. The car seems to have sufficent power, althought we have not had it in the mountains yet. This is the first GM product that I have owned in many year so time will tell on my continued like or dislike. Currently I am happy with it.

By chvgrl - January 12 - 10:00 amI dont typically keep vehicles very long, an average of 6 months to a year. But this is one that Im going to have a hard time getting rid of. I bought it while on vacation 2500 miles from home. The Metallic Blue caught my eye, and then next thing I know Im a new owner. Driving home, I got over 32 MPG, with the 3.8L. Cant ask for more than that!!! It was such a joy to drive that I almost forgot about the rest of my vacation and just went on a road trip. Now after 3 months of ownership, I still enjoy the vehicle as if it was brand new.

Finally a real sport sedan from Chevy - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By RNis - December 23 - 10:00 amThe Impala SS has the best build quality I have ever seen on a Chevy (and I have owned several in the last 15 years): No rattles,squeaks or wind noise. Excellent acceleration which will fool many drivers of more expensive luxury sedans(BMWs).No body roll in corners and excellent handling for front wheel drive. Its not a V8 or rear drive but very competent.
