Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Equinox has been completely redesigned for 2010. It has sleek new styling inside and out, a more fuel-efficient engine lineup and a lower price.
- Upscale look inside and out, quiet cabin, generous storage bins, roomy back seat, fuel-efficient four-cylinder, available high-tech features.
- Not quite as much cargo space as chief rivals, some controls difficult to reach, lifeless steering.

So far so good . . . - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Ed - September 22 - 9:33 pmI set out to buy the best available AWD small SUV. I really didnt care where it was built or who made it. I compared Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4 and the new Chevy Equinox. I purchased the Equinox and have no regrets. The Equinox is larger, nicer looking and rated higher in the mileage department. So far I am averaging 25.4 mpg during a typical 40 mile (one way) daily commute on a mix of secondary roads and state highways. With only 1400 miles on the Equinox, I expect the mileage to improve a bit more.

Chose an Equinox over a Santa Fe - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By dwzemens - September 3 - 5:13 amHaving recent bad luck with a Saturn I swore the next car would be foreign. We looked long and hard at the Santa Fe and the Forester. A friend told me to give the new Equinox a look and I might be surprised. I expected the worst. The Equinox knocked my socks off. Beautiful car, much more attractive than the other two. Nicer interior. Very cool looking dash board. The ride is nice and quiet, but its a bit rough on bumpy pavement. So far, 300 miles in, things look good. City mileage looks exactly at 22mpg, which is the EPA standard. Hoping to get 28mpg on the highway as I really dont think 32mpg is attainable in the real world.

So far so good - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Andy - September 3 - 3:00 am14k on it so far and runs great, Wife puts 130 miles a day on it going back and forth to work. Has not had a single issue. It handled very well through the Wisconsin winter. You had to work hard to make the tires slip, the traction and stability control really worked. Gas mileage average is about 27 so far. Very comfortable and roomy, I can take the wife and kids on a long trip in peace and quit. They all fall asleep!

A great vehicle so far... - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By RAM - August 18 - 12:40 amWe replaced our Subaru Forester LL Bean edition with a new Equinox LTZ, and so far its been wonderful. The cabin is MUCH roomier and quieter, and the seats are easily twice as comfortable. And the mileage is blowing the Subaru out of the water, as are the great set of standard options. The Subaru was well built and dependable, but was an extremely uncomfortable car to drive and ride in, unlike the Equinox, which is a delight for driver and passengers alike.

NOX on WOOD - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By ArtfromOtown - August 7 - 7:13 amRecent purchase and no regrets. Lots of leg room for tall drivers, center console is low, did not dig into my leg like ravr4 and crv. Leather interior well crafted with tasteful trim stitching and seats are fabulous design. 4cyl has impressive pull for a car this size. Took it on an 800mile ride, all types of roads...flawless! Wish it had GPS but my Garmin does the trick. Panasonic sound with XM is awesome. Got 30mpg even with AWD and still improving with break in. GM did it right this time!

I like it! - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By jimbo - July 24 - 6:30 amI have not taken my Equinox on any long trips, but I really like the driving feel and the comfort of the seats and interior. This vehicle seems to fit me like a nice glove. I have the four cylinder and drive it in Eco mode all the time and it has plenty of power to satisfy me. The only dislike for me is the tilt steering. I am continually trying to lower the steering when I get into the vehicle when it is already at the lowest setting available. Im thinking about seeing if I can modify the steering so I can lower it more. I really like the Nav and infotainment system. Its a costly option, but I think it is worth the cost. I previously owned a 2009 Malibu, but like this one better.

Love this car but wheres my fuel going? - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By James Cooksey - July 13 - 10:23 pmLove this car, bought it in Henderson Nevada and promptly drove it to Salt Lake City 425 miles and averaged 18 mpg. I was told that we were going to get a hell of a lot better mileage than that. Anybody have any suggestions? If not I believe I am going to opt for the 60 day return policy. I bought this car looking for good fuel economy as far as that goes I am very disappointed!!!

Best of the mid-size crossovers. - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By exec1107 - July 6 - 6:36 amOrdered 11/30/09. Delivered 01/30/10. LT1 w/pwr drivers seat, upgraded speakers, back-up camera. Dealer accessories included mud guards, cargo net and cargo shade. Solid vehicle. Peppy 4-cyl, esp when not in "Eco" mode. Getting 21-22 mpg in town, and engine not fully broken in yet. Large, comfy seats. Quiet cabin. Sensible dash layout. Attractive interior and exterior styling. "Eco" mode causes earlier shifting, so sometimes car will rumble at low speeds. Very few of these cars on dealers lots. Well worth the wait.

Nervous about my engine - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By jamie - June 10 - 8:13 amI bought this vehicle for my wife. It fits the bill for decent fuel mileage, comfort, style, and cargo capacity. Im disappointed in the fact that the engine has already been in the shop for a "top end cleaning". It began to spark knock at about 3,000 miles with the A/C on and at 4,000 miles, GM instructed dealer to clean the top end and tell me to use only top tier fuels. The cleaning of the top end seems to have fixed the knock, but I find it hard to believe average gasoline would leave enough deposits behind in so few miles to warrant a top end cleaning. I feel this saga is just beginning. Will followup on this issue as time goes on.
