  • Good little truck - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

I have owned this vehicle for right at a year now. I purchased it used with 43000 miles on it. I know I paid too much for it but I have no one to blame for that but myself. The vehicle has suprising pep and power for a 5 cyl engine. Im not completely impressed with MPG as I get anywhere from 17-21 depending on the style of driving Im doing. I bought the small truck in hopes of better. The truck will absolutely tow a lot more than GM rates it for. Just towed an 8000 lb tractor home after a breakdown. Its definitely worth a look. GM needs to get more advertising out on this vehicle instead of letting it die like Im hearing they are doing.

These are a steal used. Has been trouble free for the 20000 miles I have owned it. 21.5 mpg around town 26-29 mpg on hwy. 2wd does fine in the snow. Seats could be more comfortable. No rattles in the interior. 2wd Z85 easy on tires, looks like Ill get another 20000 out of them. Handles great for a truck. More fun to drive than my 04 full size overpriced, gas guzzling Toyota that I traded in. Would buy another used one in a minute.

This was definitely a step up from the Ford Ranger I had previously owned. It has plenty of accessible room for two passengers, and plenty of storage for a pickup truck.

  • Find the truck that matches your needs - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

First off, this is NOT for the full sizer. GMs target market segment is the user who needs to occasionally carry loads from the local home improvement store. GM hit the mark. Good: Gas mileage Utility Cabin space BROAD powerband & SMOOTH delivery Accomplished ride Quiet cabin Driveability Aesthetic design The inline 5 doesnt have the low-end torque of a V8, but thats not what I needed. It has enough acceleration and also has sufficient highway passing power. I am impressed with the deliver of the I5s power. The power-band is very broad and smooth. It has a much more refined ride than expected in a compact truck. This truck really is practical.

  • Go with the 3.5 liter - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Ive always wanted a Silverado but when i got to the dealership it made more econmic sense for me to go with something smaller so i took out the Colorado. So far I love this truck, plenty of power, Inline engines are the best cant be touched, and also excellent decision to make something bigger than an s-10. i get great gas mileage out of a full tank i get about 250 miles which is great for me

  • A bad Truck To Buy - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

This Truck has been in the Shop 3 time is the past 2 months to have the transmission worked on, still not fixed. Forget about getting help from GM reps to talk with about safety issue. They will just tell you that your safety is not their concern, but to try and fix the vehicle. I would be very careful if I were thing about buying this vehicle. For the price and better quality I would look at a different Truck.

  • Waste of my money - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
    By -

I saved my money all through highschool and my dad through in half, I got a Colorado for 22k. A year and a half later, 3 power steering pumps, 2 motors, and one steer column. Its worth half what I bought it and the problems keep coming. I cant complain about the gas mileage and it gets going but the problems arent worth it. Im overly displeased with my truck

  • Solid performer - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Overall I have to say that I really enjoy the look and ride of this truck although I did have to replace the coil pack at about 66,000 (No big deal 250.00) other than that I really dont understand the other reviews about lack of power. The inline 5 plenty of power and if I put my foot down I can roast the rears all day long. Thanks for a good one Chevy!
