Overview & Reviews
The Blazer gets only a few minor changes for 2003. A new fuel-injection system helps smooth out the aging 4.3-liter V6 while the interior get refreshed with new seat fabrics. Two-door models are now available in a bright yellow exterior color while the Xtreme model gets new quarter-panel graphics.
- Wide range of features and options, competent drivetrain, cheap price.
- Spotty build quality, cheesy interior parts, uncomfortable rear seats, poor resale value.

Tough look - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By Dug - April 17 - 9:04 pmBought this ZR2 4X4 used (3600mi) because it appeared to be set up to handle back country (skid plates, big tires, upgraded shocks, etc) and offered more room and comfort than CJ style Jeep. Mine is yellow like the picture and has most options. Have had no problems (except a little oil drip) now at 24000mi. Just figured out it has grease fittings on stearing linkage! It is not as tight as my 98 Ford F150. Has performed well in rough conditions. Gas milage never over 20mpg. Tire on back contributes to already dangerous rear vision limits. Back seat entry difficult. Filling gas tank to top needs slow pump speed. Overall I like this vehicle for the Rocky Mountain area where I live.

Whats up with the front end? - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By Nicole - August 21 - 6:37 pmI am a tractor-trailer driver not speed racer.I bought used with 51000mi,clean title,1prv.own,and had to have the cd player fixed upon purchase,(broken again, junking rather than fixing it again.)Owned since thanksgiving 06 and had 5 alignments done on it(no worn or broken parts found,no pothole hit)torsion bars realigned to normal height 2x, my tires were brand new 11/06!Now I need new ones, I cannot drive through construction zones and must dodge any and all imperfections in the road or pay for another alignment. Thankfully I never planned on driving it off road.Should have kept my 91 Blazer, never a single prob-and i learned to drive on it!

Chevy Blazer - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By docock - November 15 - 10:43 amAll in all it is an OK SUV. I wouldnt purchase another one. The inside of the vechicle is not big enough to haul or carry enough people if you have to use car seats. It is not a family SUV. The gas mileage is terrible. I have to fill up the tank once a week just for grocery shopping and taking the kids to school.

Mine is a lemon - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By Santha - March 28 - 2:22 pmI bought my 2003 Chevrolet Blazer in July of 2003. My exhaust pops when it cools down, every single time you turn the car off. There is no "fix" for this problem. I am dealing with GM and the better business bureau. I am totally unhappy with GM and my Blazer. I have had the radio replaced. Terrible for blind spots.

Mine is a lemon - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By jrb1958 - July 30 - 2:00 amBought new in July 2003. Has been in the shop 3 times for water leaks. Carpet was replaced. Found 9 body seam leaks. repaired found new body leak, repaired. found another leak repaired. Rained last week had a gallon of water come out of the headliner. Drivers window fell out of the track while driving and fell inside of the door. Grease fittings on steering linkage installed backwards could not grease. Has a ton of rattles and noises in the interior. Drive train? a lot of vibration, Just hoping I can get GM to give me something to replace it. Ive been driving GM products for 30 years but this one is making me wonder why.

chevy breaks - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By tweetybird - October 8 - 2:00 amI love my truck, but I have had it towed to the dealership twice. The six disc changer is awesome. Little stuff is really the only problems that I have been having.

Fine for the money, but could use work - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By MDE - January 23 - 2:00 amDecent enough gas mileage for an SUV. Good power, but not great. The main problems with this SUV are its extremely narrow stance, when compared to its height and length. When passed by a large truck, this vehicle will shimmy and sway on the road - something the newer Explorer doesnt do. Very scary. Also, if you have to brake suddenly, this vehicle tends to veer. Definitely a very high center of gravity, even for an SUV. No sudden movement feels safe. Its a decent low-end SUV but careful how you drive it!

Early Disappointment - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By WaveSailR - December 30 - 2:00 amI picked up the truck and drove 1300 miles to DC. The truck drove very nicely on the highway and had no problems accelerating at any time. The drivers side headlight was way out of alignment (pointing at the sky) and a spare bolt was found near the front windshield wiper. Twice during the drive, when the vehicle was placed into reverse, the whole truck felt like it backed into something. I think its a transmission problem, but its pretty major. An issue I am waiting to take to the dealer for service. The truck drives and handles very well. Pleasure to drive. Just a little hungry for fuel but way better than my old 1994 blazer. same engine

The Blazer - 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
By K.B. - November 29 - 2:00 amIt is a nice car and it handles well. Good for families with children. If you want a larger S.U.V. I suggest you buy a Chevy Tahoe or Suburban. I have found out that the exterior body style is a tad out of date. It is a smaller sibling of the new TrailBlazer. Overall, it is a great S.U.V. to drive.
