  • Last of the big 2 doors - 2000 Cadillac Eldorado

The 1992-2002 Eldorados were fine cars, but they didnt sell well enough for GM. Too bad. The cars were VERY powerful and had the latest electronic advances, until around 2000 when GM had probably already decide to discontinue it. (Eldorado has older stabilitrak than Seville, etc). Being FWD, this car is has some torque steer, but its not too annoying. The Bose audio system is excellent, but most ESCs did not have it. The seating is very comfortable, but not as supportive in ESC trim. The driver info center is easy to use. The memory personalization is also easy to set up. It can take a 12 disk CD changer with no additional wiring. The optional OnStar is very useful.

I have enjoyed my 2000 Cadillac Eldorado as much as any I have ever owned, including Jaguars, Porches, and Chevrolet Corvettes. It may not have the handling, but you cannot beat the ride on a long trip. Its performance is excellent for its size.

  • The Best Car I Have Ever Owned - 1998 Cadillac Eldorado

The 1998 Cadillac Eldorado is the greatest car that I have ever owned. I have had three Mercedes-Benzes and they dont even compair with my Cadillac Eldorado. Not only is is a more comfortable car, but it is faster and more fun to drive. I get almost 25 MPG on the highway and an even 20 MPG in town driving all day long.

  • Not bad for an Eldorado - 2000 Cadillac Eldorado

I bought my used 2000 Cadillac Eldorado, because it was a Coach Builders Limited Convertible conversion. The steel roofed Eldorado was just to bugly for me with its HUGE blind spot. Anyway, Ive had it for about three months, and I think its too bad they stopped maikng this car, beceuse it took me two years to find one here in Tampa and this is supposed to be convertible country. Realibility: Its been ok, just an annoying intermittent remote trunk release problem, that definitely has something to do with the convertiblle top. The Northstar engine system is SUPERB. I am experiencing lots of wind noise, but its a convertible. It handles fine, but has a little tourque steer under hard throttle. Thats to be expected in a FWD car.

  • If you are considering one...buy it! - 2001 Cadillac Eldorado

I have owned more than 35 cars from Suzukis to Porsches, Mercedes-Benzes, Audis etc. I did a lot of research on my recent purchase of a 2001 Cadillac Eldorado ETC before buying it. I have been very happy with a the couple of Cadillacs that I have owned in the past. I have only owned this car a short time, but I have to say that it is one awesome coupe. It combines beauty, luxury, sport, power, reliability, and decent gas mileage all in one...I cant think of any other cars out there that can do this. If you are considering one, I recommend find an excellent shape low mileage one and buy it quick and start enjoying!

  • very good car, worth every penny - 1995 Cadillac Eldorado

just turned over 97K, and have done minimal repairs, matinece will keep this engine running 300K!

  • My 98 ETC - 1998 Cadillac Eldorado

Virtually maintenance-free with the exception of oil changes and tire balance/rotations. Just replaced water pump and left side power window switch 10/28/2004. Future water pump replacements at no costs when using AC/Delco part. The only downside of this model is the lack of rear passenger seating space and blind side visibility on rear passenger side. Performance is absolutely super!! Horsepower (300) and maneuverability are excellent. The car compares favorably with a BMW 745 Turbo I once owned. This would have made a tremendous two-seater sports car. I wouldnt trade this auto for anything else.

  • one sweet ride - 1997 Cadillac Eldorado

a stunning beauty with performance to match and fuel economy as good as many mid-sized 6 cylinder cars.

  • Great car for the money - 1998 Cadillac Eldorado
    By -

The Eldorado is a timelessly stylish looking car with great power and agility. Just 1 mechanical problem in 7.5 years and GM covered 1/2 the cost even after the warranty expired. Northstar engine is strong and reliable, and the power steering is easier than any car youll find. I tested the Eldorado against a Mercedes CLK430, a Volvo C70, a Jaguar XK8, a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, a Ford TBird, and the choice was easy. The Jag is the only 1 that looks better, and it cost over twice as much. None of them had the Northstars quickness. Cadillac quality is back. If you need traction, front wheel drive still rules.

  • Should have got a Lincon Mark V111 - 1996 Cadillac Eldorado
    By -

Like the elegent styling, especially with Vouge chrome wheels, white diamond paint, and rear spoiler. Was searching for a clean 98 Mark 8 but couldnt find one, so I bought the Eldo on looks alone. Sorry, but its style, no substance. Why does the auto industry rave about the Northstar? The Ford V-8 feels much stronger and doesnt suck a quart of oil every 1500 miles. My first V-8 front wheel drive car - and last. Tourqe steer, nose dive, and loose, bouncy ride (feels like an offensive linemans sitting under the hood). Noisy interior for a luxury car. But like a trophy wife, she sure is pretty and kind of hard to give up!
