My 1997 Cadillac Eldorado is elegant, classy, and attractive, but has terrible gas mileage.

Oil consumption problems with Northstar engine virtually eliminated with what is termed WOT (wide open throttle)running. It appears ironic, but works. The finest automobile that I have ever owned and offers unparalleled luxury from top to bottom. OBD II system virtually checks systems and can be manually accessed for DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) In essence, it diagnoses its own problems. Leather interior is exquisite. Ride is just like sitting in an expensive leather recliner- in a jet airplane. Sound system-CD changer & cassette player- offer flawless entertainment. MPG 24 city / 30 highway. Beauty, power and performance like no other I have ever driven................

  • Still a Great Ride - 2000 Cadillac Eldorado

We have had a 2000 Cadillac Eldorado ESC for almost five years now. It is one of the best cars I have ever owned. Gets 32 mpg on the hwy at 70 mph. No joke. Better than my Chrysler 300M with 6 cyl. Virtually no problems at all with the car. I think the seats could have had a little longer seat pad and the spare room between grill and fan could have been put in the back seat for more legroom, but having said that, the car has been great. Am looking to buy another Caddy for the wife and wish the Eldorado was still around. We will look at an STS or DeVille.

  • GM to keep making a coupe - 2002 Cadillac Eldorado

Great auto, great milage, smart look and a great price. I hope that GM continues to make more Cadillac coupes.

  • I Love it! - 2001 Cadillac Eldorado

Hands down the best car I have driven. It has a very smooth and refined ride as well as an elegant design. The car is not afraid to move, when you floor it be ready for what it does. The Eldorado is just as fast as a V8 Mustang or Camaro. That being said, in town milage is poor but if you use the cruise on the highway and keep it to 80, you can see as much as 25 to the gallon.

  • FUN TO DRIVE - 1996 Cadillac Eldorado

I bought my Cadillac Eldorado with 28,000 miles on it in 2003. I just love to drive this thing. Its performance and comfort are great. I did get an extended warranty when I bought the car, which has paid for itself. I had to replace a swaybar. Other than that, Ive had to perform just normal maintenance, like tune ups, plugs and wires, oil changes, and stuff like that. These things are expensive if you take it to the dealer. I suggest a local mechanic that specializes in Cadillacs.

  • Hidden Performer - 1998 Cadillac Eldorado

Ive always been a big fan of Cadillacs, especially used ones. Many people seem to be scared off by these cars, but Ive always felt theyre quite a value after taking the initial depreciation hit. This 98 Eldorado was no exception. The power of this car has amazed everyone whos rode in it, and the exterior is a nice "Cadillac interpretation". Considering the compliments and head-turning ability, its a rather impressive vehicle for the sub-$10,000 used car group. However there are some hidden costs such as the high-octane fuel and a few extra things to go wrong, but if one doesnt mind a doing little tinkering and is in the market for something nice, this is certainly a car worth a look.

  • Sad Eldo - 1994 Cadillac Eldorado
    By -

My 1994 Cadillac Eldorado could have been a classic, but like a typical American made product, Ive had nothing but problems with this car. The engine leaks oil. I never could really use it the way I had hoped. such as on long trips across country in comfort. It was always on the verge of breaking down. My Eldorado was very poorly built and had lousy fit and finish. No more Cadillacs for me.

  • Sexy Ride - 1993 Cadillac Eldorado

This definately has been the most reliable car we have ever owned. No mechanical failures or problems in 13 years. We have enjoyed all the luxuries of most every other newer cars all this time. Now with the advent of Nav systems and other toys it is time for us to get a new one. Hate to dispose of this sleek black beauty. If I had garage room I wouldnt.

  • Very nice running car - 2000 Cadillac Eldorado
    By -

The car I bought is a Coach Builders Limited convertible conversion, so its a convertible. This means less interior lighting, and a SLIGHTLY smaller trunk, and of course wind noise, but it was a first class job, with an automatic hard boot that raises and lowers to cover the top. You get about 70% of the original trunk space regardless of the top position, nice wnen compared to the "no trunk space" problem of the popular folding hard top cars, and it seats five. The excellent Northstar system has phenomenal power and can actually run for 50 miles at 50 MPH with NO coolant. It has nearly every convienience feauer availabe from 2000, and rides very smooth and quiet (below about 70MPH).
