Overview & Reviews
The CXL Plus trim level is dropped in favor of a single CXL model; a CD/MP3 player stereo is newly optional; real wood replaces the fake stuff for the steering wheel and shift knob; and various upgrades help spruce things up inside. Full-length head curtain airbags make their way to the options list, though Buick has dropped last year's seat-mounted side airbags (which provided torso protection for front occupants).
- Exceptionally quiet ride, strong optional V8, easy to get in and out, decent off-road ability.
- Subpar build and materials quality, sloppy handling, lacks key safety features, not enough storage space.

Buick Rainier: Too many headaches - 2005 Buick Rainier
By nobuicksjim - February 20 - 3:53 pmBad fuel sender. Buick sends a notice to finally to cover 1/2 the repair cost. Too late. Drivers side door handle. Broken twice. Part is engineered to fail. $127 to buy $4 of plastic Rear air suspension problems. This will be the last Buick I ever own.

What were they thinking? - 2005 Buick Rainier
By G. Toll - December 12 - 2:05 pmFor a car with a $38000 sticker, it was quite a surprise to learn what this car doesnt have, like - a second remote key, a valet key, a glovebox and under- hood light, and even a coat hanger. It does have a smooth, quiet ride, but you wouldnt expect on a test drive to have to search for items you would expect to find in a car costing one-third less. Buying this car is getting taken for a ride.
