Overview & Reviews
The big news for the 2009 Buick Lucerne is under the hood: A new 3.9-liter V6 replaces the old 3.8-liter engine in all trims except the V8-powered Super. The new motor offers more power along with FlexFuel capability (except in California-emissions states). Additions include Bluetooth connectivity, available XM traffic reporting and a smattering of new wheel designs. The latter includes the fitment of standard 17-inchers for the base trim, which replace the previous 16s. The CXS trim level has fallen by the wayside.
- Quiet and comfortable ride, spacious cabin, available V8 engine, user-friendly interior controls.
- Mediocre handling on all trims except for the Super, long braking distances, outdated four-speed automatic transmission, inconsistent build quality, high pricing compared to value-packed rivals.

My "Views" - 2009 Buick Lucerne
By Opadave - November 11 - 5:12 pmAfter having this vehicle for about a month, it rides like a dream, except it "wont get out of its own way. There are several concerns that are certainly safety issues. The passenger side headrest virtually blocks the drivers view when trying to see through the rear side window. Front pillar/outside mirror combo on drivers side creates blind spot. Message center display is difficult to see when wearing polarized sunglasses. Same conditions probably exist with all models of this design.

Steve Preston - 2009 Buick Lucerne
By Steve - September 30 - 3:18 pmMy new Buick gives me 3 mpg less mileage than my 1993 La Sabre. Acceleration at 60 is very, very poor especially when typical highway speed is 65 to 70 mph.
