  • A legend in its own time. - 1999 BMW M3

This car is simply amazing. Please go read the reviews by reputable car magazines and dont take my word for it. If you combine the following factors: Performance, Reliability, Practicality, Durability, Safety, Value....you simply cannot beat this car. HANDS DOWN a winner in all regards. Few cars this good have ever been or will be built in automotive history. CAR AND DRIVER BEST HANDLING CAR REGARDLESS OF PRICE in the 90s beating out Ferrari, Porsche and the like. Plus you can throw your kids and some grocery bags in the back.

  • Exceeds the Hype! - 1999 BMW M3

The M3 is perhaps the best car ever built for all around performance, handling, acceleration, braking, feel and oh so many other areas. Sure, the engine could use some more power, but it wasnt designed to be the best from 0-60. This is a super powered go cart that is meant to out perform on an auto cross track. Anyone can go straight and fast.. this one is designed to twist your insides around with tight cornering and give you a strain in your neck when accelerating out of a corner. As far as stupid comments about poor winter performance, I say "DUH!"

  • great fun car - 1999 BMW M3

This car has been the most fun of any car I have ever owned. The performance is perfect, handling, accelleration and braking are unreal. The car is very comfortable, and does not look like a barely restrained racing car. The top never leaks. You can hold a conversation at 85 with the top down.

The car is simply amazing. My first BMW. A joy to drive everyday to work. I have put on 13K miles since I bought it and I only drive 25 miles per day to work and back. Seems like I find reasons to go somewhere - not sure why, hmm.

  • Didnt match Hype - 1999 BMW M3

I must say that it is not the supercar that all the reviews claim it to be. Firstly, this car is waaayyyy to heavy and you can feel it on heavy cornering loads..it could use more power as has been put into the newer Ms but I would be really happy with the 240bhp if it trimmed a few pounds. This shift mechanism was also a huge dissapointment. Why manufactures still make rubbery indecisive gates is beyond me. Toyota got it right with the Mr2 MKI why doesnt everybody just copy it. Brakes and steering are among the best Ive ever driven. Its a good car...just not the great car I thought it would be. I shoulda saved 8k and bought a Viggen convertible.

  • Could be better - 1999 BMW M3

This car has amazing performance and styling. However, the interior craftsmanship leaves something to be desired. The steering wheel vibrates and makes noises, as does the dashboard. It is frustrating to think how much I paid for this vehicle, only to listen to constant cabin noise. With high performance tires, this car is useless in the snow. Also, the trunk-mounted CD changer skips regulary on less than perfect surfaces. All in all, the performance will leave you grinning after every drive.

  • M3 Convertible - 1999 BMW M3

When it comes to open top motoring the M3 Convertible tackles all you can throw at it. Weather it be performance, design, ergonomics you name it she does it. I cant help but smile when I drive this car. Ive driven many exotics, but my choice is the M3 Convertible.

Really like my M3 coupe. Its by far the sexiest car I found while shopping last year for a high-quality used sports sedan, and I got a really good car. I hated the purchasing process though, DO NOT go to BMW of Arlington if you can avoid.

  • M3 Convertible - Be one with your car... - 1999 BMW M3

This car fits like a glove. I have owned Mercedes, Acuras, and a Porsche. This car, above all the rest, gave me the greatest sense of unity between a man and his car. That may sound very weird, but if you drove one you would know what I mean. I feel a sense of control over every aspect of driving. I first test drove the E36 325, and had a similar sense, but with the "M" engine you get the control and the incredible power. If you ever get a chance to drive the M3, take it and see what I mean. Just be prepared to miss it when its over.

  • M3, the only 3 series to own. - 1999 BMW M3

Had a very good experience with this car. There are a few minor areas of the car that almost demand upgrades or replacements near or before the 50k mile mark. Rear strut mnts are rubber and sqeak upon failure. These can be replaced 4 $80 + labor. Clutch stop & short shifter need replaced as origs. are too tall & sloppy. Suggest UUC for upgrds. Service is covered for 4yr/50k but I dread service @ both Dallas area dealers. This has been the worst part of owning the M3. I could not wait until the warranty xpired so I could take it to another BMW shop in Plano. Its too bad the service is slow, unprofessional & inconsistent.
