  • Maybe in 2005, needs some changes - 2004 BMW 5-Series

I am the market of trading in my Lexus, undecided weather to purchase the 530i or the E300 Mercedes. My first impression of the 530i - a beautiful designed car, having several noticeable flaws that many consumers have identified. I possibly will wait until 2005 giving BMW an opportunity to provide the awesome car they intended.

We purchased the 525i to replace a Q45t Infiniti. It is a different world. The BMW is much more sporty than the old pillow barge but it is not as comfortable on long road trips (we drive it to Seattle almost every year, ~ 3000 miles RT). I find the drivers seat small and cramped, although my wife likes it fine. Handling is good and the ride is adequate. The 4 year $0 maintenance is good and it was needed. A lot of small problems including a bad window motor, broken cup holders, dashboard computer replaced.

  • Ergonomics - 2004 BMW 5-Series

The BMW 530i has an option to upgrade to a supremely adjustable ergonomic seat - a must for long commute times. This throne fit for a king comes in a fantastic package of performance, safety and security and style.

  • A Perfect 10! - 2004 BMW 5-Series

The new body looks very aggressive! The new iDrive system is much easier to use compare with the 7 series. The cars handling at corner is great! The interior feel roomy and luxury, more like a 7 series! Lots of optional equipment to choose from!

  • Meant for the Autobahn - 2004 BMW 5-Series

Silver-Grey 530i w/sports package, cold weather package, rear heated seats, and xenon lights. I absolutely love this car. I have wanted BMW for almost 20 years now and I must say the 530i was well worth the wait. The handling is tight (best of any sedan, bar none), acceleration smooth and reasonably fast for a 6-cyl sedan, xenon lights are awesome; lights up the night like mid-day, heated seats a must w/leather here in Germany. Cant wait to take it back to the Rockies where I can put the adaptive steering through its paces. If youre able to, spring for the sports package...the added features and "ride like its on rails" road handling is amazing.

  • My new Beemer - 2004 BMW 5-Series

I had this car about 4 months now. I thought i would driving it on occasion while using my other car as my primary car. Once i sat in the bmw...lets just say the battery died on the old car from lack of use. I think the 525 has enough power, and cant justify spending $5000 on an engine and only 17inch rims. Car handles smoothly. Love driving it. Only minor disappointment was dealing with the fiance dept which gave a low rate, then tried to raise it over 2.5% the day i came to pick it up. Almost decided to leave the car in the lot...glad i didnt though.

  • Cant enjoy my other car - 2004 BMW 5-Series

The car handles and feels incredible. This is my wifes car, but I get to drive it on occasion. Hard to go back to my car. I do not understand the car presss reaction to the styling. Its aggressive, modern, yet clearly BMW. IDrive is a pain, but as others have pointed out, once things are set, you really dont use it much. Clearly the best car I have ever driven. I had to have the car returned once - the BMW assist didnt work. Still waiting...BMW needs to be careful - the 7 series and MBs had a lots of clitches

  • Improved E39 - 2004 BMW 5-Series

Just changed my E39 528 for E60 E60...completely happy with design. I loved my E39 but was outdated...the E60 is getting more and more attention from people. I love the new style...it will be another classic. Same fun driving this car...I passed on the the adaptative driving...can t improve something that s perfect. looking rward to ne next 3 years of fun driving
