This Year's Model Updates:

BMW has seen fit to give the sedans and wagons a facelift for 2002. An in-dash CD player finally makes it onto the standard features list. The center stack has been altered to accommodate the new automatic climate controls. Steptronic automanual operation has been altered so that you move the transmission lever forward for downshifts and backward for upshifts. Bi-xenon headlamps are on the options list so that both low and high beams can glow a cold blue and can be set to automatic operation. Rear side airbags are available for coupes and convertibles. Two new colors, Electric Red and Gray Green (and a Natural Brown interior leather) join the color spectrum.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Pricey for their market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

  • Fun To Drive, But..... - 2002 BMW 3-Series

This is my first BMW and its fun to drive and I feel very safe with the AWD and all these airbags. However, the trunk is so small that on a business trip we ended up having to put items on the backseat. The feel of the road is nice for driving but my elderly mother suffers from the bumps and potholes. Next time I will have to look for a larger, smoother riding car.

45,000 miles and over 18 months after buying the car, i still love it. it truly is the ultimate driving machine. near perfect balance and amazing feedback for the driver. i wish it had more power, but then again ive never had problems speeding at over 100 mph from LA to san diego. reliability has been great. the only gripe i have is that it costs a lot to maintain.

Im a single college student got my baby straight out of high school with 130,000 miles my car had 220,000 miles on it before I was in a accident and outside of normal wear and tear I never had any problems. Great for traveling, amazing on gas. This car handles amazingly and hugs the road. BMW truly lives up to the name the ultimate driving machine.

I bought an American Spec 325xi 1 year ago and have been driving around Germany ever since (currently on 3 year tour in Stuttgart). This car flat out rocks! Its as smooth at 130mph than it is at 70. I typically drive between 100mph and 120mph when taking road trips and find myself loving every minute of it. Its even a pleasure to drive around town. I would recommend this car over all others in its class.

A fun car to drive. Well behaved suspension and ample power encourage high speed touring.

  • Nice Car - 2002 BMW 3-Series

Well the car is a bit pricy compares with its competitors. However, with BMWs name, it is worth the money. So far, I havent had any problem and I follow the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule and some extra services to keep my car in good shape. My final word - "who doesnt like the ultimate driving machine?"

  • Fun, Fun, Fun - 2002 BMW 3-Series

Previous car was an Audi A-6. My 325 has the sport package and premium package which I recommend. I also have the nav system which has been great. The seats are the absolute best, more comfortable that the 7 series. Motor growl is wonderful, better than the V8. Handling, steering, suspension are supurb. Unfortunately, reliability is not there.

Have had this BMW for about 9 months. It replaced a Camry -- much more fun to drive, more comfortable, great front end look. I live in LA and this car makes me love driving!

Enjoying the car very much. Very happy with the straptonic transmision. The ultimate driving machine. 100% worth it. Cant wait to afford to drive the 5 & the 7 and ....series. Performance is very hard to believe.

  • Extremely poor reliability - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I truly do not feel safe in this car. It ramdomly stalls out, in dangerous situations. This has happened four times. Dealership found no problems. The latest, every once in a while doesnt start, dont know why. I couldnt be more disappointed.
