This Year's Model Updates:

BMW has seen fit to give the sedans and wagons a facelift for 2002. An in-dash CD player finally makes it onto the standard features list. The center stack has been altered to accommodate the new automatic climate controls. Steptronic automanual operation has been altered so that you move the transmission lever forward for downshifts and backward for upshifts. Bi-xenon headlamps are on the options list so that both low and high beams can glow a cold blue and can be set to automatic operation. Rear side airbags are available for coupes and convertibles. Two new colors, Electric Red and Gray Green (and a Natural Brown interior leather) join the color spectrum.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Pricey for their market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

Best car I have ever purchased. From now on any car I purchase will have to be a BMW.

  • I love my car - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I ordered my Topaz blue with black leather in the summer. I had one of the first 2002. It has been the greatest car I have owned. It looks good, handles well, and very comfortable. There is no comparison to any other car in its class. I went with every option available. It is just a beautiful car. My only beef is not enough storage room. Need sunglass case, bigger center console...oh well. I have a whopping 3200 miles on it. No problems at all.

  • Finally runs well - 2002 BMW 3-Series

Have 35000 miles on the car and it finally runs like it should. The car was so noisy (I was told it was the new plastic air intakes) it sounded like a garbage truck in low gear. Told nothing could be done. Said it would quiet down with mileage. Amazingly it has and now it runs fine. No problems at all mechanically. Still best looking car on the road. It is top of the line and I may just keep it. The 2005 are not much different.

A bit pricey, but this is a great car. Once you get behind the wheel, there is no buyers remorse; there is no guilt about how much you spent on it. It drives and handles excellent. No real issues other than I have to check to coolant level every so often (never had to do that on my Acura), but everyone should do that everytime u fill up.

My third BMW. Had a 1973 3.0cs,& a 1976 2002,so I am a little biased. I think the sport package is a must. Snow tires are needed where I live. Its great how entertaining the car is,never boring.

  • Tires dont last long - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I love driving the car, but I cant seem to get a set of tires to last more than 15,000 miles. Also, maintenance is expensive. A trip to the service department averages $1,000.

This car is awesome. I have always wanted a BMW. This truly is the ultimate driving machine. Perfect for everyday driving. I look forward to driving to work.
