This Year's Model Updates:

BMW has seen fit to give the sedans and wagons a facelift for 2002. An in-dash CD player finally makes it onto the standard features list. The center stack has been altered to accommodate the new automatic climate controls. Steptronic automanual operation has been altered so that you move the transmission lever forward for downshifts and backward for upshifts. Bi-xenon headlamps are on the options list so that both low and high beams can glow a cold blue and can be set to automatic operation. Rear side airbags are available for coupes and convertibles. Two new colors, Electric Red and Gray Green (and a Natural Brown interior leather) join the color spectrum.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Pricey for their market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

  • Solid Fun - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I purchased this car in March, 2005, CPO. At first I thought the car felt too heavy but now, Im impressed with how solid it is. Nothing fazes this car. It goes, stops and corners at your command regardless of weather or road conditions. Now I know why BMW garners so much praise from the press and devotees. I have had one unscheduled service for a faulty sensor that was covered under the CPO warranty.

I have owned several BMWs, this is by far the best. Im 6-4" and this is one of the few sports cars I can ride comfortably in. The performance is amazing, and I make lots of extra trips just to drive the car. I have really enjoyed it. Ditto on the concern about the long interval between oil changes.

I just switched from an A4 to the 325i. I wish I would have made the move sooner. Even the base 3-series handles well, is smooth, quick enough, and has a comfortable interior (albeit small rear seat and trunk). Ill be looking to move up to the 330 for my next car.

I switched to it from a 5-years old Mazda 626. The feel of improvement on the handling was instantaneous. Its quite a contrast. It turns my daily commute into an enjoyment. I was surprised to find how quiet it is no matter the roof is up or down.

Ive owned my 325 do convertible for more than 10 years and Ive kept up with the maintenance. Ive rarely had to make repairs on the car. As Ive gotten older its hard to get in and out of, but other than that, its been the best car ever!

The best car Ive ever owned. I read an article in the July 2002 Popular Science that describes it best: "This car is keen-spirited, enthusiastic, on the edge of its chair awaiting the next command". The BMW 330i is a car that you want to spend a lot time with. I like to drive it with the stereo off just so I can listen to it. A true work of art.

Steel Blue Metallic, PP, SP, Halogen, with Heated seats. Used Costco to get a price point and closed the deal for less at $35,295. Not bad for Bellevue WA where the showrooms are always full. So far so good but then I only have 800 plus miles. The car is great to drive and makes you feel great driving it. Came down to the BMW or the Acura TL Type S. No regrets.. BMW was the way to go. Looking to add a CD changer and activate the alarm in the next week and I am set.

  • Best in its class - 2002 BMW 3-Series

After exhaustively looking for a 4-door sedan in th $30-$35K price range, I finally decided on a 2002 325i. Im very happy with my selection. It is simply the best compared to the competition. Sure the Infiniti G35 may be faster, and the Mercedes C240 may have a more refined and quieter ride. However, the 325i has the best combination of fun and comfort in this price range. Everything about it has a quality feel - the way the doors close, the sound of the Inline 6 cyl. engine, and the textures and materials used in the cabin.

  • Great overall car. - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I got this car after selling my 2000 Audi A4. Its pretty much perfect in every way. Despite what everyone says about it being expensive to maintain, it isnt. Sure, if you take it to the dealer for every little thing then yes, its expensive. It gets decent MPG, its quick, its comfortable, its nicely equipped, its gorgeous. The only issues Ive had is with the ABS, which every German car has problems with. Mine has now got 218,000 miles and still starts every time. Definitely glad I bought it.

This car lives up to everything youve heard! It handles better than any of my friends so called "sports" cars and on the line it can leave most in the dust! I have never had a single mechanical problem to speak of and Ive driven it to Omaha, NE and back once and also to Seattle, WA a few weeks ago. The seats are very comfortable for long distances and even though the car is built and handles like a sports car, it rides like a cadillac... nice and quiet. I also get 32 mpg driving back from Seattle! How many 4 door sedans can do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds and still get 32 mpg on the interstate?!? One suggestion... dont get the automatic! Youll be missing out!
