"S" is for superlative! - 2002 Audi S4
By Orca Boy - June 5 - 2:00 amThe S4 was my first foray into the "rarified air" of automobiles. Forty large may be chump change to some, but I took the investment with deathly seriousness. That said, the finacial outlay was definitely worth it. The S4 is by far and away the most enjoyable, and complete, car Ive ever driven. I spent many months comparing it against the BMW 330, Infiniti G35, and hordes of other, similarly priced rides. In the final analysis, while each of those cars brings something very special to the show, the S4 seems to bring EVERYTHING. Its fast, safe, luxurious, and--at least compared with Bimmer, Porsche, and some of the other uber- marques--sanely priced.

The Wifes Car - 2002 Audi S4
By TMF - June 3 - 2:00 amAfter renting an A4 on vacation and being rather impressed, decided to look into an S4 when buying a new car. We suddenly became VERY impressed. The car is more than capable for the average driver and offers great performance for those who desire it. You would spend twice the money for a Porsche that has like features. A Suburu WRX is cheaper but then again its a Subaru!

Understated Performance - 2002 Audi S4
By AV8R - June 1 - 2:00 amThis car is a sleeper. It performs excellent under any road condition, whether it is dry, wet, or frozen. Acceleration and torque are outstanding even in stock form. Definately get a better bang for your buck with an Audi S4 vice a BMW 3 series. When you add comparable options (cold weather, sport, etc.) on the 3 series you a) pay more, and b) have a lower quality car. One look at the interior and exterior trim quality of the S4 will make you realize this.

A great ride and a great deal - 2002 Audi S4
By jivancovich - May 23 - 2:00 amIve returned to German cars after a brief stint with American. The S4 is just a great ride tight, fast, and secure. It holds the road in all weather even with its standard performance tires. I looked at 3 series BMWs and C series Mercedes before buying the S4. I had a BMW before but found both them and the Mercedes to be overpriced for what you got. The S4 is a great balance of performance and value.

A Nightmare - 2002 Audi S4
By Dlp - May 6 - 2:00 amI had my car for about a year and it has been it the shop for evertyhing more than once and even something three times. The car has been in the shop more than 50 days altogether. For things like brakes , transmission, abs , Electronic stability system , reverse lights, tiptronic, auto dimming mirrors. The best part is that Audi told me that even though my car is so problematic and none of the defects is my fault that this car defects do not warrant a new vehicle. I pray that this situation will never occur to anyone else. If you are reading this think about what you are doing? (Purchasing an Audi)

Best 4 door under $50K - 2002 Audi S4
By SPEEDY_SAM - May 6 - 2:00 amSuperlative engine - has loads of torque. Can pretty much out-drag 99% of cars on US roads. Enables you to short- shift your way without any problems. Secure handling. Have taken it out to snowy climes without any slipping even with summer tires! Small size of car and narrow width pays dividends when tackling mountain roads. Able to position the car in the corners pretty well. Once kept a Dodge Viper GTS honest on Highway 1. I gained on him on the brakes and through the corners. He gained on the straights. If there was a bit of rain there would be no contest! Has nice distinguished looks - doesnt look boy-racerish. Its looks would be distinctive 5 years from now.

Great Audi - 2002 Audi S4
By alan ross - May 4 - 2:00 amIt goes very fast, feels very solid and all the while is very smooth. I received an A4 loaner and rode it all day..nice car but when I got my S4 back I realized what the 8K upcharge buys..all of the above. I will buy the next generation if they keep the computerized suspension to a minimum and hopefully they will put this CAR on a diet.

What a Delight!! - 2002 Audi S4

Upgraded the ECU on this car, went up against a new 2002 Infiniti Q45 with 340HP and I beat him, not by much but goes to show what an Audi can do against a car with 300+ HP. Would highly recommend anyone interested in one to go down to your local dealer and test drive one today!!!

An over-rated Audi - 2002 Audi S4
By Bob Haworth - April 1 - 2:00 amAudi should never even offer an automatic transmission in a car like this...even the Tiptronic. Aside from being "clunky," after 8,000 miles mine has been in the shop going on 3 weeks because it will no longer shift gears! The right rear brake make an ear shattering squeal and they cant seem to fix that either. The brakes are awful on the smallest amount of ice or snow. There is an unacceptable number of squeaks, rattles and buzzes inside. And, even though a small point, two of the cup holders are underneath the armrest...very handy! I guess Germans dont drink and drive. For the price, extreme disappointment is all I can say about this vehicle.

Great Performance - 2002 Audi S4
By mswhimiscal - March 26 - 2:00 amI own a 2001 S4 including all features with the exception of the navigation system. This car handles great. Hugs the road, terrific pick up and is fun to drive.
