The Cabriolet is now available with all-wheel drive, while all A4s now come standard with a tire-pressure monitoring system, revised steering wheels and two-stage airbags. The 1.8T models have been upgraded with 16-inch aluminum wheels and now offer a six-speed manual transmission as an option.

Nothing but problems!! - 2004 Audi A4
By Emmanuel McKinstry - October 14 - 8:19 pmPurchased vehicle used with 20k mileage. Ultrasport 1.8T came with APR stage-1 upgrade. Problems with Air bag module. Dealer fixed under warr. Ignition coils went bad cost 500.00 Fuel pump bad along with some type of sensor that regulates the fuel to the engine?? Caused car to dump too much fuel and flood engine. Cost 850.00. Defective coolant seal (Anti Freeze was leaking in the rear of engine) about 1100.00. And of course the famous Timing belt that bent the valves at 85K and defective passenger side window module cost 2300.00 (And thats with my own valve head I received free from a friend). Now the Bank 1 O2 sensor is bad and its leaking oil like crazy. Dealer said defective oil cap??

The A4 convertible - 2004 Audi A4
By maggienono - January 27 - 10:00 amThe wide threshold results in difficulty getting out of the car. Coupled with wide doors that dont open enough when in a parking space, the car is just not comfortable unless youre over 6 feet, or want to push the seat all the way back to get out. Also, when the top is up, the visibility is very poor when backing out of a parking space.

Questionable Product Support - 2004 Audi A4
By BB in Bedford - October 14 - 2:00 amI think the car will be fun to drive but since I had an accident on day 2 of ownership, I dont know yet. It will soon be three months and the availability of spare parts is keeping me from enjoying the car. Unfortunately, Audi spare parts are either unavailable or marked improperly when orderd. My repair shop classifies Audi as the worst in terms of difficulty in getting the right parts in a timely manner. Audi may be a world class car but they apparently have a third world supply chain!

Got a lemon - 2004 Audi A4
By Tom - September 5 - 8:08 amSince I purchased my convertible in a matter of the first year within 7 months I had the transmission replaced 3 times. Recently the oil pump malfuctioned and the engine blew. 2 days later the radiator hose went. 3 weeks later the engine lost power. This car has been in the shop at least 25-30 times in the past 3 years for various things. I finally hired and attorney and used the lemon law which was successful monetarialy but had to keep the car the rest of the lease which is up in 2 months!!! Thank god!! I love the looks of the car but mine was NOT worth the trouble. I have a convertible and cannot use it most of the time as it is always in the shop. Good LK

Always something wrong with it - 2004 Audi A4
By Kerstin - April 19 - 1:39 amI bought my A4 in May 03. It was one problem after another. The trunk compartment for holding the top broke and needed to be replaced. The final straw was when the transmission needed to be replaced with only 9k on the car! It had been making some strange creaking noises but the dealer kept insisting it was just loose bolts they needed to tighten. After several visits to the shop, they finally determined that the transmission was defective. In 9 months of owning the car, it was probably in the shop for a total of 8 weeks. I would never buy another Audi. Very poor quality.

Build Quality? Lack of Power? - 2004 Audi A4
By pgk22 - June 12 - 2:00 amWithin less than 1 yr of ownership been to the dealer 7 times now to fix the drivers power seat. Audi just doesnt seem to get the hydraulics of the power seat right? Parts again questionable? Owned a 3-series BMW for 7 yrs without any problems. Engine lacks low end torque. The other problems are interior room for the passengers in the back.
