Overview & Reviews
For 2003, all TL models equipped with the navigation system receive OnStar as standard equipment.
- Excellent value, comfortable front seats, impressive power from the Type-S engine, long list of standard equipment.
- Average interior materials, lacks the panache of some competing luxury sedans.

Do Not Buy!!! - 2003 Acura TL
By Disappointed - September 11 - 10:21 amI purchased my 2003 Acura TL Type S used with 49,000 miles in January of 2008. It WAS a great vehicle until the odometer hit 66,000 miles thats when the transmission failed and had to be replaced. The cost of the replacement was $3,500. I purchased this vehicle based off of Acuras claim of producing quality and reliable products. My Acura has not exhibited any of these claims. I should have listened to the consumer reviews I read while researching this vehicle. There was an alarming number of reviews warning of transmission replacements. Will not buy another Acura again.

Excellent overall change - 2003 Acura TL
By dealerbasher - September 9 - 10:00 amI looked at the previews for 2004 TL and disliked its overwrought styling. The present model is elegant and classy. The TL is well-designed for long trips, the interior is superb, the handling is precise. Love the step- tronic tranny, TL accelerates quickly with a base engine; I found no need for type-S. A bargain compared to tiny BMW- 3, or 530, Benz C320, or Inf. I35. Lexus ES300 looks too much like a Camry and costs 36K+ with leather. TL is ultimately the best all-around choice. I prefer its FWD configuration because it does much better in CO winters than RWD found in 2 competing sedans.

OK car for the bucks - 2003 Acura TL
By tph - September 9 - 10:00 amThis is my first Acura but it wont be my last. The car is well built. The engine is outstanding. The handling (high speed cornering) is not shabby either. The car just feels solid! nit-picks...(1) the leather could be of higher quality. (2) The glove box is a joke. (3) the stereo is over rated. The sound is not as deep as my previous car. (4) The Engine is quiet, that cannot be said for wind noise. That said, this car is still a great buy!!!!

Great Car! - 2003 Acura TL
By Jen K. - August 29 - 2:00 amI bought my TL last Christmas and have never had any trouble with it. It is very comfortable, the Bose stereo is great, and I love the heated seats! It is great in the snow, too. I love driving now.

Do Not BUY - 2003 Acura TL
By john c - August 3 - 2:00 amI bought my 03 TL-TYPE S in June 2002. It has been in the shop 6 times. I purchased the vehicle overfilled by 2 quarts of transmission fluid. Acura said it was a common mistake. This is the fifth brand new Honda product I have purchased (and I am only 25). They have lost a loyal customer for life. I have talked to other customers while in the shop over the months. I have found that Acura does not have the reliability it claims. Its not worth the many trips to the shop and the stress. I would strongly caution anyone looking to purchase an Acura/Honda.

Great Car TL-S - 2003 Acura TL
By Kiry - July 11 - 2:00 amThis has been a great car for both me and the wife and little kids. I like how much room is in the back seat for car seats. Big roomy trunk. I love driving this car. It has a lot of get and go!

A perfect 10 - 2003 Acura TL
By Steven A. - June 27 - 2:00 amI have driven the 2003 TL Type S for two months with no problems whatsoever. It is truly a solidly- built car with lots of power, very comfortable, fun to drive, etc., etc., etc. I would not want to own any other car under $40k.
