Introduced last year, Acura's capable SUV receives only minor changes for 2002. There are four new exterior colors, and enhancements have been made to reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) for a quieter, more comfortable ride.

• Powerful V6 engine, roomy interior, fold-flat third-row seat, sophisticated 4WD system.

• Limited off-road capability, below-average tow rating, lacks personality.

  Sure beats my ML430! - 2002 Acura MDX

  An amazing vehicle and purchase process. Very professional and well treated by dealership (unlike my former Mercedes dealer -- traded in a 2001 ML 430, which was a piece of junk). My wife learned all of the controls in no time - very logical and well laid out. The most versatile vehicles were ever owned in terms of flexibility. The salesperson noticed a rip in the leather passenger seat during the delivery process (probably from the mechanic who prepd the vehicle). Immediately ordered a new seat cover, which was no problem.

  This vehicle truly has the best of all worlds’ ex.style, comfort, luxury, performance, and fuel efficient. Not to mention that the sound system is top notch (even has a sub). My wife and I both are very pleased all around. The next vehicle I buy will be a newer version of the MDX. The only thing I wish I had in this one is the navigation option. The next one I buy will have the navigation and dvd entertainment.

  I waited 5 months for delivery, and wasnt disappointed. It is the perfect blend of sport, utility & luxury. Pickup is quick, handling precise yet comfortable. Ive had 7 passengers in it for short treks without complaints. Also, Ive had 4x8 sheets of drywall in it - they lie flat! Its not so luxurious that you are scared to mess it up. The wife and I fight over driving it. It isnt as luxurious as a Lexus. Suggested improvements are nits. With the value and performance, cannot understand why anyone would waste money on any other SUV in this class. IId buy another!

  I just love this vehicle. I just called around and got this vehicle in 2 days time. I test drove atleast 4 times on highways and local roads. I also tried Lexus RX300 and didnt like it. MDX matched all my requirements!!!!!!!!

  Acura has outdone themselves! The recent (and moderate) design changes clearly state that Acura has made a superior SUV with little room for improvement!

  We live up an unpaved drive on the side of a mountain. The MDX handles it effortlessly in all kinds of conditions. Extremely comfortable, fun to drive, wonderful Bose audio system.

  Great SUV! Acura hit a home run with the MDX. It has all the ammenities that you would want (less a DVD entertainment center). Rides and handles like a sports sedan, quick acceleration, NAVI System is the best avail, and passenger/cargo area beats others hands down. I considered BMW X5 (3.0) but when you add up all the ammenities that are found in MDX youre talking $50+K...with less room. A trade off you will have to make! Ask your dealer to chrome your wheels....it will make people snap thier heads.

  Just bought pre-owned. Very pleased with ride and Engine response. Very comfortable and love the 3rd row seat. Navagation very easy to read. Gas mileage is good for a suv. Overall no complaints.

  Stuck on a Hwy.. Engine Check - 2002 Acura MDX

  How can a new MDX like my just stuck on a Hwy.. The engine just let go while I am driving around 130km/hr.. The engine check light is on and I just got enough time to direct my car to the ramp.. This is not fun and a major safty issue.. I WONT buy ANY ACURA anymore ! The roadside assistance and dealership services is nothing compare to Infinit provide..

  Still a winner - 2002 Acura MDX

  Car delivers as promised. Theres a reason why it continued to win editors choice awards after 3 years. Interior design is good, could be a bit more luxurious. Gas mileage excellent under 70 MPH (23.5 MPG highway on my last trip - awesome for a mid-sized suv!). Minor build quality issues back of drivers seat broke off, cup holder latch needed to be replaced. Like that they used to be rare on the road
