I have owned cars for over 30 years and I HATE buying them, because most dealerships earn their less-than-desirable reputation for being slick and coercive. CARite was/is an oasis in a sea of dealership monsters. I was literally "shocked" by how easy, transparent, informative, yet unpressured the entire process of exploring a new (used) car was with their dealership. You look, kick tires, look up the entire background on the car of your choice on their computers, confirm your choice, ask tough questions, get straight answers, test drive without obligation, and pay a no-haggle, ZERO hidden fee price and drive away with a smile on your face, without having spent 9 hours or feeling like you have to take a shower after the buying process. Additionally, the customer service was extraordinary; friendly, informative, and conversational. Complimentary soda, juice and snacks, and they replaced several small parts on my new (used) car, at NO charge. These guys are, in a word, amazing. I actually liked the dealerships owners demo car he was driving, and he let me buy it; a beautiful, gently used Toyota Avalon. To say I was (and remain) thrilled with my experience would be the understatement of the century. I blab about them to all my friends, Im sending my wife there next summer for a replacement car and when my son turns 16, well be back again.

Literally when you go on cars.com and look up the cheapest camry 2012 and newer under 60k miles they are the first ones to pop up. No sales people. They let you look at the car on your own. You can investigate everything touch everything start the car test drive it. Wow. Ive had my car for 3l2 years now. Not a single problem. I mean not even a $10 repair. Oil changes thats it. The best part is that when they give you your car they detail it to the max. Your car is shinier than a brand new car. I means sparkling not just outside but inside. They do that at no additional cost. This is straightforward buying.

I called this dealership numerous times to inquire on Accord models other than what they have in their inventory. They just have 2012 Honda Accords automatic. I was very interested in Honda Accords 09-13 models but looking for manual. I asked various times and was informed to keep checking on their website. 30 days later and what a waste of time. Dealer is very difficult to work with and does not accommodate customer needs.I will take my business elsewhere!

The sales person Tony at the Windsor Locks, CT Carite was amazing. Its just as they advertise. You get there. You get the current listing of inventory they have on the lot. You go out onto the lot and all the car doors are unlocked and you basically walk around seeing what car and features suite you best. After test driving only two cars I literally fell in love with my 2012, silver, Honda Accord 4 door (SE) Special Edition. It has everything I wanted and at a great price. It was ready the day they said it was and I rolled out with a great car. I LOVE my 2012 Honda Accord SE and at 22k miles who wouldnt its practically brand new! Im referring folks left and right about this NO HAGGLE car dealer thats tucked away off the main drag that runs behind Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks left and right. They turn there inventory so fast you have be prepared to commit and go for it. If you like it, drive it! If you drive it, BUY it! Dont wait or it wont be there the next time you come back after you visit other dealers and want what you drove previously at Carite. Ask for Tony you wont be disappointed.

All of the personnel were/are great. Friendly, helpful and overall makes the whole process a good experience compared to the age old nasty experience of purchasing a new car. Ashley was our first impression and she did everything to make it all easy--we had reviewed the inventory before we got there and knew what we wanted. She made it so easy for us to test drive and inspect. Once we selected, the purchase was processed easily with Ashley doing the Motor Vehicle dreaded paperwork and registration. A large help. Dave Pelis was a major factor in easing our couple of concerns about tires and wheel bearing. Test drove the car with me before and after some adjustments. Dave runs around putting out all of the fires but still manages to do things that make us feel that we are important. Great experience in purchasing a used car and we have and will recommend CT. This is the way buying a pre-owned car should be. Ive been buying, selling and trading in cars for 30 years and Carite is doing it the right way. In my family and circle of friends, Im the one people have turned to in order to ensure that theyre getting a good deal. I do my research and Im patient and I get dealerships to compete with one another for my business. An old of friend of mine who is in the used car business suggested I check out Carite when I told him I was looking for a late model Honda or Toyota. He said he thought I would be very happy. I was a little skeptical but hopeful. In short, he was right. Carites business model is to sell a high volume of aggressively priced late model, quality cars that are most likely to be trouble free (Honda/Toyota/Hyundai). They typically pick them up as they come off personal lease at the auction, so they usually have low miles (leases typically come with a set number of miles you can drive or you have to pay for excess miles at the end) and they have been maintained properly. Then they turn around and sell them after only adding a few hundred dollars to whatever they paid at the auction. If they had a particularly good day at the auction (when perhaps there were fewer bidders or more good cars available), then you get the benefit of that as well. Carite can be so aggressive with their pricing in part because: 1) They dont sell cars that typically have more mechanical problems that would require them to spend money fixing them (Hondas and Toyotas are pretty "bullet-proof", as they say), 2) They dont have "sales people" to whom they have to pay commissions, 3) They have their own repair shop on site and 4) They sell a lot of cars. Their price is their price. No haggling, no game playing. Usually, in my experience with other dealers that have "one price", that translates into not getting a very good deal. Not so here. I was surprised to find that their prices were every bit as good or better than I would have expected had I worked hard negotiating a price by getting multiple dealers to compete with one another. This saved me a lot of time and aggravation, which made the whole process surprisingly pleasant. I spent my time looking at and test driving cars instead of haggling and going from dealership to dealership. Are there any negatives? Yes and no. As this is not like a typical dealership, you should be prepared to have a buying experience thats a bit more like Costco than Nordstrom or Brooks Brothers. 1) Carite doesnt spend a lot of time and money cleaning up cars ahead of time to make them look continuously pristine like some car dealerships do - until you decide which car you want. Then they detail the car beautifully and meticulously, and if you are unsatisfied with anything (a little scratch youd like buffed out? No problem.) they will gladly take care of it. 2) They realize that most car buyers today are informed or can get informed on the Internet regarding what features they want, etc. They will be glad to help you, but dont expect a horde of salespeople hanging around with someone following you around all day. Personally, I greatly prefer that anyway. You may not. But when the rest of the positives are considered, I still think they will greatly out weigh what you may consider a negative. Two other quick notes: They have great financing rates available and theyre fair on what they allow for trade-ins. I found out about Carite 2 months ago. Since then, Ive purchased three cars there (a Honda Accord for me and two Civics for my children). Ive also sent one neighbor there who purchased an Accord and another who will be going down shortly. I know this review may seem too good to be true, but I have no connection to this dealership. I was just that impressed. But by all means check it out yourself. Honestly, no salesman. I walked around for as long as I wanted looking at what was on the lot. You can test drive as many cars as you want. When I was ready to purchase, the whole thing took about 15 minutes. I picked up the car two days later. They had also added 4 new tires. My neighbor make a 1 hour trek to look for a car about two months ago, and raved about the buying process and selection of cars. She had commented that the staff were totally "anti sales", yet amazingly helpful and informed. Her car came with full service and NEW tires, and was $3000 less than the vehicles in our area, and still had warranty left from Honda! As it turned out, my husbands car was on its last legs, and he had interest in what Carite had to offer. We drove down during the week and spent over two hours checking out the cars. We were given a list of everything they had, offered snacks and refreshments and we were left alone to peruse the parking lot. I couldnt believe it. We test drove both a Honda and Toyota and were offered to drive as many as we wanted. When it came time to talk turkey, we dealt with Tony who secured financing for us in about 5 minutes. He gave us a copy of the car fax without asking, showed us how much warranty was left, and that Carite offered a 60 day warranty as well. We also had new brakes and service, and new tires just like my neighbor. Even more impressive was that Carite handles the insurance stamp and paperwork at RMV, which saves you hours of time!!! When we picked up the car, the paperwork was ready, a sweet young lady had just finished putting the license plates on, the Manager, who was really friendly, had made us a 2nd key and the car was shining like new. In less than 10 minutes, Tohy had us on our way home. My husband and I were exceptionally impressed on the efficientcy off the process, and that they didnt sit there trying to talk our ears off. When we had bought our last car a few years ago, the salesman would NOT stop talking, even after we had given a deposit, then when we picked up the car, it took almost an hour. Carite is everything the reviews say it is. When we picked up the car, it was really busy there, must have been 15 people checking out the cars, which made us feel even better. This is clearly a dealership that has embraced the way people want to shop. Thanks agin!!

These guys were great! Helpful on the phone when I called to make sure the car I wanted to see was still there (unlike other dealerships Id tried), and so very friendly once my wife & I showed up! Ashley let us test drive the car, no pressure, and when we decided we wanted it they took care of all the little concerns we had with the car (it needed to be cleaned inside and the tire pressure needed to be checked). They even got us a better rate than I got through my own credit union. Cant say enough good things about CARite! Well worth our 1.5 hour drive from RI, definitely will be returning when its time to replace my wifes car!

Friend of mine recommended Carite. It was a no hassle experience and I got a great price on a car my mechanic said was in excellent condition! No pressure and a very efficient staff. All issues with the car were taken care of to my satisfaction before I paid for it. The only negative was the oil and filter were not changed and I had my mechanic do that. Overall I would certainly recommend Carite to anyone looking for a late model used car. Great job Ashley, Dave and Tony!

After months of looking for the right car to suit my needs, I stumbled upon Carite of CT. At first they seemed a little too good to be true because they price their cars considerably below average market value. They buy all their cars in bulk from Honda and Toyota Financing so the cars are low miles, new year, and in great shape. I decided to go to the dealership to check it out to see if I really believed it. It was much better than I expected. The vehicles are unlocked and they allow you to sit in them without a sales person pressuring you to buy the car. You can print out a piece of paper with all the specs of all the cars on the lot then walk around and find what you are looking for. If you want to test drive the car they simply hand you the keys after scanning your licence. The people working there were really friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. I decided on a 2011 CRV with 29,000 miles. I did have a concern about 2 minor things in the car like a missing antenna and the bumper had a few scratches. I addressed those issues with them before buying the car and they assured me they would fix them before I paid for the car. And so they did. They fixed up everything in my car before they gave it to me bumper and antenna. They told me that they have some mechanics that fix up things like this with the car before they sell them. The loan process was very easy as well. They have a very competitive credit union that can finance at 1.99%. They gave me a few warranties that certainly were assuring, especially for a first time car buyer like myself. They make a lot of bold statements at their store like "We let you buy a car, not try to sell you one." I really feel like they live up to the hype and I believe I really got a good value in a car that will last me 10-15 years. For those that truly do their homework will be pleasantly surprised with Carite of CT.

My wife and I had been searching online for a minivan for a family car for several weeks. We stumbled upon carite.com and it was the best thing that happened for us. The prices seemed too good to be true, but after speaking with the rep on the phone and reading their reviews I felt much more comfortable. Walking into the dealership I did not know what to expect as I have had several very bad experiences with very high pressure salesmen at other dealerships. What I found was a friendly staff who were willing to answer any questions we might have and refused to pressure us into buying anything at all. We test drove the van, came back to the dealership and discussed the vehicle with David. He informed us their business model is to list all of their vehicles at 1 of their 4 predetermined price points. There was no haggling or negations necessary. The price listed was the price we paid (A very good price at that). There were no secrets and no hidden costs. We asked for a couple minor things to be fixed in the vehicle prior to purchase and David said without hesitation it could be done. Needless to say we purchased a very high quality vehicle at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend Carite to anyone looking for a quality vehicle at a fair price.

I purchased a 2011 Honda Accord EX last weekend. This could not have been an easier car buying experience. There was no pressure, or hard sales pitch. Tony their finance manager was really easy going and helpful, and got me a much better loan rate than two other dealers I went to. The process was exceptionally transparent. When I picked up the car, the place was really busy, but everything was ready for me and I was in and out of there in 15 minutes. The hands-off approach to buying a car here is wonderful. I took my time selecting a car, which was priced well and in good condition. The vehicle was sent in for repairs at a local autobody shop. Unfortunately, the shop was rushed. When i received the car, the interior was still filthy, and some dents and scraps were not fixed (all of this damage was recorded and supposedly going to be fixed). I completely understand that this was the not the fault of Carite itself, but when I talked to the owner, Dave, he was defensive and condescending. His attitude is certainly not professional. All my concerns were rudely dismissed right off the bat. He stared silently at times and did not offer any solutions. I only wanted to check if anything else could be done to fix the state of the car. Eventually, I reached a compromise with him. Besides the awful experience with the owner, Carite is an excellent place to buy a car for a reasonable price. We are very happy with our new car and with the service we received.

I traveled from Massachusetts to Windsor because I did not believe the AMAZING prices and lack of pushy sales people that were advertised. Their listed price on the 2011 RAV4 that I bought was 25% lower than any other dealer (in Massachusetts or Connecticut), and they were willing to work with me over the phone. I was able to secure financing and register the car over the phone, as I could not go back and forth to Connecticut. I got the car within a week, and they were also willing to stay late on a weekday to allow me to drive down after work. For the first time in m life I would recommend a dealership to family and friends, and will buy my next car their, no matter where I live.

Carite is ideal for those that do not need handholding during the car buying experience, despise the ridiculous "negotiations" with car dealerships and are wary of private sellers. If you have done your research and know what you want and what you are willing to pay, check them out (only if you want a Honda or Toyota). Every car is a former lease and are pre-priced (non-negotiable) based on model and mileage. They buy them at auction. Their approach is to turn them over fast with low overhead costs. If you compare their price with other sources (KBB, Autotrader, etc.), Carite is at least $1-2K less than all other sources. Since these are former lease cars, they are mechanically sound but vary in mileage and options available (hence, the different pricing ranges). Most have a small portion of their original warranties. They also provide free CarFax reports on every car. Since I knew what I wanted (a low mileage CR-V EX), I followed the Carite listings for about 4 weeks before a mint CR-V EX with only 15K miles showed up. It was less than $18K. I asked to reserve the car and they agreed without taking a deposit! My brother (who works near Carite) inspected the car and gave the thumbs up. We showed up, took a test drive to confirm condition, filled out the paperwork and were done in less than two hours. The only other charge was a dealer prep fee of $350. I live in MA but they loaned me a dealer plate to drive home with, with a prepaid FedEx envelope to return the plate. The entire buying experience was simple, straightforward, without any hassles, surprises and extremely painless. Highly recommended!

I found Carite on cars.com and called with a few questions. Dave could not have been more straight forward and helpful. They have a great value driven business model. I have good friend who is a used car dealer who told me to buy from Carite. He said their prices were below wholesale for our market. I bought a car sight unseen and had it shipped to Kansas City. It was delivered exactly as promised. I am preparing to buy my second Carite car and have recommended them to others who also would be shipping the car to Kansas City. I could not have been happier.

I went to Carite because I saw some of their cars on the internet and their prices were so much lower than other dealers. When I got there, I told them what I was looking for. They gave me a printout of about two dozen cars and told me to go out in the lot and check the cars out. All the cars were unlocked, so I could browse at my leisure. When I found one I liked I asked for a test drive. They took a copy of my license, gave me the keys, and let me take it out by myself. When I got back, I told them I would take it. We set up financing, and they told me the car would be ready the next day. The next day I signed some papers, the car was registered, and the license plates were on. The whole process took about a half hour.
