I just want to say my client advisor " cars sales woman" was really amazing she was not pushy at all on what type of car to buy or what to buy. Her name is Melona Martinez. One of the first thing she told me was that she doesnt work on commission which is a great thing so there was no purpressure on purchasing a vechile I would go there and purchase another one and I will definitely tell all my friends and family to go to GENGRAS CHEVROLET IN East Hartford. On July 24, I completed an online form for a free $50 Amazon gift card to test drive a 2017 Malibu. A woman called to schedule the appointment for July 25. The two men who I was told to ask for were not available. The person who gave me the sales pitch, ride, and quote (higher than website price) said he would file the gift card form. That person was not well aware of the selection and location of the vehicles. I noticed a plugged tire. I received no follow-up on the quote or gift card. I completed the online inquiry form six times. On August 2, I brought a new car not at Gengras. (In general, test drive the vehicle(s) for which you get quote(s).)

We have owned Honda vehicles for the last 20 years. Trade in for a Chevy?? What?? We had our doubts. Our Sales associate Sam M. cleared up any doubts we may have had. He answered all of our questions and we had a lot. Sams knowledge of vehicles was extensive. Not just Chevy, but just about any other we asked about in comparison to a Chevrolet. He sold us a 2017 Chevy Trax. We are so very pleased with this car. It handles great it is so very comfortable. We had a budget and Sam and Tony kept us right on track. The entire staff was great. I moved to the Hartford area about 2 years ago with a pre-owned 2013 Chevy Equinox. Being new to the area I did my research on dealers via the internet. He is very detailed in his explanation of maintenance required. And just all around a pleasure to work with. Thats why I later brought my wifes 2015 equinox for service and will continue to have both our cars serviced at Gengras when needed.

"Great Sales Team - Frustrating Service Team"
Although I appreciate the staff and their kindness anytime I go, I was extremely frustrated this time to find that my request/instructions were not followed. I originally went to Gengras just for a routine oil change before a roadtrip we were going to take the following week. The service tech asked about the mileage on my car, and informed me of the 50,000 service check. Given that it was going to take longer than a routine oil change, I decided to bring my car back later that night and leave my keys in the overnight drop box. I filled out the form and wrote on the envelope the exact 3 services the tech and I had discussed, along with noting on the envelope that should the charges for service go above $500, I needed to be contacted for authorization. Upon arriving to pick up my car, I found that not only were more than the 3 services done on my car, but the charges were over $650 with no call ever received by me for authorization. Had I been told what needed to be done on my car and the service tech called as requested on the overnight slip, I would have had no problem paying for what was needed. It is extremely frustrating as a customer to not be listened to, and left me feeling like I was taken advantage of as a customer. Again, the staff is always kind and helpful when Im there, and the gentleman that sold me my car always makes time to say hi, but I was extremely frustrated with the service department this time around.

She promptly responded by email and I made an appointment for the following morning. The dealership is very clean and the staff was extremely friendly.

For example, I just leased a new Volt and when I got home I discovered that the charging cable was not in the trunk. My sales person, Frank Lentini, was fantastic and took the time to work with me on not only what vehicle and features would best fit my needs, buy also the price and any rebates I may qualify for to make me comfortable with my purchase for years to come. I purchase a new car every couple years or so due to my career, so I have purchased quite a few cars in various areas of the country. This by far was one of the best experiences Ive had at a dealership. I thank Frank, Bryce, Dave and Rick for there time, assistance and most of all for my beautiful new impala.
