I dont leave reviews very often, but I had to for this dealership on account of the fact that the experience was so outstanding. My son and I needed to buy a car in a hurry and we were treated to great customer service and sales/financial assistance recently at Coastal VW in Hanover. We bought a slightly used Golf (great car, btw) and the price was very competitive, alleviating the need for much haggling. You can tell right away which dealerships are designed to form long term relationships with customers and which ones are just looking to sell as many cars as possible as soon as possible for the most money possible. There was no urgency and no pressure to buy or even add an extended warranty. We worked exclusively with Matt in sales and John in finance, and both were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. And both went the extra mile as well. John worked with us and their sister site in Norwell to get our title in a hurry to meet a deadline for a drivers test the next day. Matt stepped up when we needed him to help us find our garage door opener we had inadvertently left in our trade. Of course, we did not need to contact Matt as he was the one calling us to follow-up on our experience and to ask how the car was working out. Needless to say, I would highly recommend this dealership (and I have also had repairs done with another VW and they are top notch in that department as well). I would never recommend Terrance as a sales person. He was arrogant, aggressive and disrespectful. I almost walked away from the deal but when I finally got the price I wanted I agreed to buy. I had my first VW experience in Rhode Island. I was always a Toyota girl but traveled from Mass to see a VW Eos Lux that I was interested in. The long and the short of it, I bought the car but didnt have the greatest experience with the dealership. I had always brought the car to Coastal VW for services and had excellent experiences every time. When I was in the market for a new used car the only dealership I considered to do business with was Coastal. I was introduced to Terrence Sterbenz. After discussing my needs. Terrence showed me their inventory where I found my VW Bug. We took it for a ride and he showed me the Ins and Outs of the Vehicle. I bought the car because my needs were meet....I got a great car and had monthly payments that would fit my budget. Terrence was great. He was very knowledgeable about my car, professional and courteous. I am now a Volkswagen girl.

Purchased 2015 Golf TDI. Love the car and wish I could say the same for their customer service. Car was delivered with damaged bumper that had to be replaced. They were supposed to get me an inspection sticker and wheel lock key with repair and neither were done. Also never mailed me new registration so I had to drive new car without a registation. Lots of promises over the phone that everything will be taken care of but nothing is done.

I had the pleasure of meeting Matt, who, during my afternoon stay and 3 test drives, continued to show me he was in it to provide me with exceptional customer service while ensuring I was informed enough and empowered enough to purchase the car I wanted. I felt in control during the entire process and when I was ready to talk numbers and payments I couldnt believe the diligence Eddy in the finance department demonstrated. I left same day with lower monthly payments than expected, and the car of my dreams. (2012 Golf TDI). I couldnt be happier, great job Matt, Eddy, and team! I first bought a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen from COASTAL in January 2012. The experience was not atypical, but outstanding. There was no hardcore haggling, but it was more of a business deal. Sean Callis was super. So, when I say the .9% financing in Sept 2013, I immediately phoned COASTAL and spoke to John Tangerman. John was professional and very accommodating. We sealed an amicable deal within 30 minutes. I was going out of town in 4 days and could not get back to COASTAL to pick up the 2013 Sportwagen TDI, and asked John what it would take to get it delivered to me on Cape Cod. John spoke 2 words, "NO PROBLEM". The car was delivered to us in impeccable condition on the date agreed and within the time frame. I had visited 5 dealers in 2012 and none offered the great customer service that Coastal did, that is why I went back. There were no "boiler room" sales tactics. If I said I was not interested in outside warranties, or protections, the issue was dropped, no "what ifs". I highly reccommend Coastal and Mr. Tangerman. We will be back for an auto for our son and when we buy again, and yes, also for the SUPERB service we have already experienced!

My husband and I went to test drive a car at the end of the day on Saturday around 5:15 p.m. We really wanted to see the car they had and Ben said it wouldnt be a problem to stop by that late in the day. He had the car warmed up and ready for us to test drive as soon as we arrived. Since it was dark and cold out he pulled the car into the service bay so we could explore every nook and cranny of the car. Ben was easy to work with and there was no pressure to buy the car. We didnt expect to make a decision that night but we really liked the car and knew we werent going to find a better price around.
