Was shopping for a car for my son - at first the salesman was nice - let us drive the car walk the lot - but when we went back to his desk to talk numbers I informed him that I would think about it and wasnt ready to buy he (David Santiago) said "why am I wasting his time" he offered to lower the price from 269.00 to 150.00 I still said no he got real nasty, so my son and I left the show room. Outside another salesman wanted to talk to me, then the Manager (Victor) came out to talk to me, I informed the manager that he gave me a price of 150.00 a month could he match it and he said " he would try" but didnt . I AM WARNING ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BUY A CAR FROM MID ISLAND IN CENTEREACH TO STAY AWAY AND GIO TO ANOTHER DEALER

"Terrible Experience"
Worked with lejun for about 5 minutes and it was terrible . She called me and told me now was the time to make a deal because of all of the promotions and "extra cash" and that it would eat the negative equity in my trade In. When I came in she said I told her about my trade and she said , oh I didnt know you had that kind of car (Audi) theres nothing we can do........ like really. You dont even want to ask the year make and model and maybe look out the window to see what it looks like? I would never recommend a friend after an experience like this. What a monumental waste of time
"Service Department"
Bought my car from Mid Island 3 months ago. They gave me a 1 yeare service plan for free oil changes. Called and made an appointment 2 days prior to taking the car in. It took 2 hours and 45 minutes. Plus they gave me a list of things they suggested for maintenance. Again I bought the car 3 month prior and of course at that time everything was supposed to be perfect. The 4 free oil changes arent worth the wait and I hope I dont need a real service any time soon.

The experience was as good as I thought it would be, the man is a pro and dealing with him is a very pleasant experience. My wife and I got the exact car she wanted,with all the safety features we requested, and needed, and Peter explained how all of them worked. My daughter is going to purchase a new car and has indicated she will purchase it from M.I., and Peter.

I dealt with salesman Rick. He was not only professional and knowledgeable but extremely patient. I came in because I wanted information on the best car for my purposes. Rick sat with me for a long time and took the time to answer every single one of my questions. I very much appreciated that he wasnt pushy AT ALL, never felt pressured into buying the car. To be honest Hyundai wasnt my first option at all, I just wanted information and I ended up buying one. I am so very happy with my purchase and even more with the fact I am comfortable with my monthly payment. I just needed a decent used car for a reasonable price for my 67yr old Mom. After dealing with two reputable dealerships whose business practices were like an 80s throw back to sleazy car sales tactics, I took my anger and disappointment to Mid-Island Hyundai and was rewarded! After being screwed twice, I was blunt about my recent used car experience, what I expected and what I wasnt going to tolerate. I understand used cars are not perfect or risk free. Just give me the real information about the condition of a car so I can make an informed choice. My salesman, Timio Daccordo, was direct about the condition of each car, the pros and cons of each, etc. He actually HELPED me. Crazy, right? Used cars dont come without some risk, but if you are looking for a no bull#!*# experience and someone who will help you find the best car possible in your price range, call Timio Daccordo at Mid-Island. Ive been a loyal customer of Hyundai since Nov. of 2000 when I purchased my first Santa Fe...and have loved it ever since. Although I didnt want to part with it almost 15 years later and approx. 191, 000 miles later...I knew it was time. This new Santa Fe allows me the two extra seating capacity that I will need when other family members come to visit, or my little ones connect w/ other friends... We decided to lease the Santa Fe Sport, and they truly worked out the numbers for us. All the personnel that we corresponded with were very friendly and did not play games. I drove away with the car with a few hours, and one of my family members got an equally amazing finance deal on their vehicle that they purchased on the same day. MY SITUATION WAS A LITTLE COMPLICATED. I WANTED TO GET OUT OF A LEASE EARLY (ABOUT 11 MONTHS EARLY) AND I WANTED TO START FINANCING WHILE KEEPING MY MONTHLY CAR EXPENSES AROUND THE SAME AMOUNT. THEY WERE ABLE TO ACHIEVE THAT EVEN THOUGH I WAS FORCED TO PUT DOWN A LOT MORE THAN I EXPECTED TO, THEY WERE PLEASANT & PATIENT WITH ME ALL THROUGHOUT. I ALSO HAD A DENT IN THE TRUNK & THEY ENCOURAGED ME TO TAKE CARE OF IT BEFORE SENDING IT BACK TO THE LEASING COMPANY. THEY ACTUALLY FOUND SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF THE BODY WORK FOR ME AND I JUST PAID THEM FOR IT INSTEAD OF HAVING THE LEASING COMPANY TO FIX IT & THEN BILL ME LATER FOR IT. I traded a 2011 Sonata in to lease a 2015 turbo charged Sonata from Rick the salesperson at Mid Island Hyundai. The car is beautiful to say the least and drives great! Rick is really a nice gentlemen and I would recommend him to anyone considering a new car. There was a discrepancy with the amount of money I was supposed to be receiving(a check) for the difference of my trade in and the loan payoff. I was unable to solve this problem with one of the managers at Mid Island Hyundai which was extremely frustrating and was dragged out for too long. As soon as I spoke with Lekwa Nnate he requested that I come in to see him and that he would "take care of me." The next day, I met with Lekwa who was exceptionally nice and went above and beyond what I would have expected someone to do. He made sure to resolve this issue immediately. I am very thankful Hyundai has people working for them like Rick and Lekwa.

I first leased a Elantra with my daughter a couple of months ago. I didnt feel like the deal went as smooth as I would of liked it to go. Because I dont like giving bad ratings I did not rate them at all. I was contacted by Kelly as well as Josiah Behlen the General Manager, to see what could of been done that would of let my experience with them be better. Im glad I gave them a second chance and just purchased a new Sonata Limited. They really stepped up to the plate and made the deal as pleasant as any car purchase can go. From Kelly, to Troy along with the help of Joseph and Mitch they all made me feel that they were happy to have my business and made the deal that I felt was fair for all parties involved. I ran into a couple of service issues that were relatively minor and was blessed to meet Kevin Hom the new service manager, and he handled all issues better than any service manager for any car I ever owned. "Untouched Customer Service"
I have to honestly say mid-island hyundai has the best customer service on long island. I have bought cars from other dealers in the atlantic group aswell as outside of it in my lifetime, and they dont even come close to mid island. I arrived at the used car lot and fount myself ALONE and comfortable to browse. Other dealerships i was rudely swarmed by salesman. I continued my browsing when i was approached by a kind salesman who shook my hand and aided me in my search for a suv. I took the truck for a test drive and i was comfortable testing the cars limits and driving over pot holes. when it was time to talk numbers i didnt feel pressured into anything at all. I stated that i had to think it over with my wife, the manager had no problem with that, unlike other dealerships who try to haggle with you once you try to leave... I bit the bullet and returned about four days later and purchased a hyundai tuscon. The numbers remained the same and the buying process was speedy. I left happy and satasfied with Mid-Island hyundai and i would reccomend stopping by. The low pressure vibe is really what cought my attention.

"Terrible Service Department"
The service department here is terrible. I brought my 13 hyundai elantra here for a check engine light issue. Prior to bringing it here I had pep boys run a free diagnostic on the computer and they had told me its coming up with a catalytic converter issue. I have 67,000 miles on the car and it has what they call a 100,000 mile warranty. After speaking to a service agent they told me its most likely not going to be covered under warranty. I told them all I want to know is if its covered under warranty. The lady had told me if I dont have the work done there I will be charged a $189 diagnostic fee. If I do have the work done there they will not charge me the $189. So I tell the lady theyre pretty much forcing me to have the work done there and she replies with "you get what you pay for" at this point I felt there was no other option but to have them do the work no matter what because if I didnt it would cost me $189 anyway. So after an hour they tell me the work is complete and I owe $124.92, I asked for the work description and was told an ecm update was required. Now as far as Im concerned a computer update should be covered under a warranty because obviously they found a way to have the car run better hence the reason the check engine light came on in the first place. If your pc/tablet/phone need to be updated are you charged for that? Certainly not. This place runs scams on people all day long. Kevin the service manager and leigh the service coordinator were both very rude and not helpful with this situation at all.

When my family walked into Mid Island Hyundai on Sunday, I looked at my wife and said, "Im not doing this today". Then we met Patsy. When we told Patsy we didnt have any money to put down on the car, Patsy didnt flinch. He asked what we needed and what we could do and he made the deal happen. Thanks to Patsy, I no longer have to worry about my car starting when I get off the train every night. Patsy not only got us into a new car, he gave us peace of mind. "New Service Manager Kevin H."
I was on the verge of never coming back to this service dept. ever again and no one knew that, except me. I was fortunate enough to meet Kevin because of an unresolved issue with the prior service manager and the way a couple of prior repairs were handled. While i will not post my specific issue, I will tell you it was one of those that NEVER happen when you get to the service dept. you wind up with "sorry but we could not duplicate the issue" response. Talk about night & day! Kevin went above and beyond what you normally get at any dealership. Kevin knows the meaning of customer service in, out & sideways & more importantly he knows cars! I arrived late & There was a loaner car waiting for me & he took his own time after everyone else left for the day. He assure me that the issue would be taken care of no matter what they would have to do to get to the bottom of it. If i could describe Kevin in a couple of words, i would call him, an Automotive enthusiast at the very least. I am ecstatic that I can now take my car back to the place I purchased it for service without waiting for the other shoe to drop because of Kevin. I Honestly think anyone who had a bad service dept. experience at this dealer needs to give Kevins new service dept. a try. I am well versed when it comes to automotive repair & the industry in general. I can honestly say this man impressed me. IMO anyone there that does not meet his standards will not last long.
