I came to Prime initially because I was aware of them from living in Maine and from their website. Scott is the premier salesman. There was no pressure, no intimidation, no stress. He was patient and thorough in asking and anticipating my questions. He treated me with respect and stayed with me the entire time through our first meeting and long after the sale had taken place. This was December 2011 which is why I did not hesitate to return to see him in April 2014. Everyone at the dealership has been most helpful throughout my entire relationship with Prime. That is why I will return again next year when it is time to replace my wifes car with another Prime Volkswagen auto.

I first test drove a car at Prime, another dealership offered me a good deal, I called Prime and they quoted me a slightly better price over the phone, which I called to verify a second time (including all terms), so I headed down there ready to make my purchase. When I arrived, they changed (raised) the sale price, and told me it had been a "mistake." Their explanation/negotiation was completely unprofessional. I told them I expected them to honor our verbal agreement, and I would not pay more. Getting me there was dishonest and unethical. They did not expect me to walk out the door, but I went straight back to the first dealer. Save yourself the trouble. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. To boot, I was a returning customer.

I just bought a VW Eos from Prime. I had researched the car for about 2 months, and was ready to purchase as we were getting closer to Spring. Prime had an Eos that met my price, trim level, mileage and color requirements. However, I live about 3 hours from them so I also had narrowed my search to include 2 other dealers closer to my home. I went to one of the other dealers first and was turned off by the condition of the car; the non-disclosure or false information given by the salesman; the lack of knowledge of the regulations regarding a purchase from an out of state buyer; the deceptiveness of the salesforce and the lack of professionalism. In the meantime, Scott, from Prime, had continued to keep me up to date on the car they had, knowing I was looking closer to home and knowing I had some other family issues which tempered my ability to drive up there right away. He was professional, honest, persistent without being pushy and followed through very nicely. So I drove up and was equally impressed with the thoroughness of the actual sale. Scott went over the car in great detail, never making assumptions but making sure I was made aware of all the features of the car. I appreciated the amount of time that both Scott and Nick ( who helped out when Scott needed to do something else) spent with me, showing all the systems operations. I appreciated the real care they took to not just make a sale, but to make me feel heard and understood. I definitely recommend Scott as well as Prime itself. The facility was clean, organized and comfortable. I wish I lived closer so I could have my car serviced there. I only hope my local dealer will not suffer by comparison. Thanks to a great team for making my experience enjoyable and my drive up worthwhile.

Purchasing my new GTI was something that I very much enjoyed. Joe Frechette is by far one of the nicest guys you could ever have the opportunity of knowing. He was able to work out a great deal and it was literally like going to a party. Every car buying experience should be like this one. It was more like sitting down and driving around a car with a friend and just having a good time. I never once felt pressured or rushed to make a decision. I was astounded at how smooth the process went and could hardly believe I was able to leave that very same day with my new GTI. The entire team at Prime VW is top notch and I couldn’t recommend them enough. Every person that I met was amiable and eager to help in any way they could. "The 2013-14 New Beetle Design Compared To 1998"
To: General Sales Manager Dear Mr. Rich Dempsey I had a good experience shopping for a New Beetle; unfortunately a commitment to a remodeled bathroom has taken first priority on our cash flow for a while. I was asked how I felt about the new look of the Beetle, wasnt it more masculine in style? Which got me to thinking. I was originally attracted to it by the retro look and German engineering. With its rounded edges everywhere it stands out in a crowd with the bright primary body colors offered. I bet more women than men have been buyers until 2013. And on the road it is an un-mistakable moving ad for VW in the USA. Yes, its shape does look "pregnant" and feminine by comparison and therefore notable and different than the competition; and probably helps share of mind for VW by all drivers. Now, since 2013, the body style (although the guts are the same) says, harder edges, front aspect looks like a shark, eyes and large grin, stretched longer and squeezed flatter more phallic and more like most other cars, with muted colors which no longer stand out but blend in invisibly with the traffic, anonomously. I think VW has shot themselves in the foot with the body and color changes and have lost a distinctive image with market cache and value. If it werent available in yellow I wouldnt consider the new ones at all. I will probably drive my round yellow 06 till it gives up the ghost. I thought Id write to you, the sales manager, who talks to the VW folks who created this New, New Beetle, (It reminds me of the debacle some years ago with New Coke which bombed in the marketplace forcing Coke to recant or the ill-fated Edsel). I wonder if they even did any US focus research groups to test out the proposed changes? At any rate the proof is in the pudding, who are the new buyers, whats the volume, etc.? Who will know this better than you in time? In fact VW has now produced a more stereotypic Germanic looking product after a fifteen year success with a more Italian looking product. Not a typical review is it?

Absolutely GREAT experience dealing with Prime VW in Saco. Joe (salesman) made it extremely easy for us, did all the dirty work, and most importantly was straight up with us the entire time. Told us what was out of our price range based on what we explained that we wanted and was straight up with us on what he felt was a waste of our time car wise. Couldnt be more pleased. Came in to help us out on his day off! For a week straight sat down with us for at least 2+ hours just going over cars and personally bringing cars from other lots just to help US out. Didnt pressure us in the least and didnt mind at all when we shut down cars. He just wanted to help. Worked as quick as he could, didnt try and talk us up in price, and didnt putt around and waste time. Answered every question as best he could, very patient with us, and answered his phone every time or called back immediately. Didnt mind doing anything for us. We felt great and he relieved every stress we had...not to mention a great personality and fun guy to deal with. HIGHLY recommend not only Prime VW in Saco but recommend you ask to deal with Joe. KILLER GUY! Bought an 09 Jetta, so far very pleased, and made sure that if there is ANYTHING we need and a single question we have, or a single thing we dont like about the car or the way its running to call him personally and HE will deal with it and make it right. "My Experience Was And Is Bad"
I bought a jeep liberty sport from them in April. The day I bought it the price on their website was reduced by 400, when I asked about it I was told it was a " mistake " , no jack in the vehicle , told the sales person before I took possession I wanted a spare key , he told me he had to get to the previous owner , after several stalls , I was told not available. I didnt realize a valet key would work , nor did they advise me of that so I ended up going elsewhere and spending over 200 for one . Since then, both front o2 sensors have had to be replaced, I am now dealing with replacing brake lines and shocks and struts which all together will add another roughly 1600 in repairs for a vehicle that was inspected . I wrote to the owner and Volkswagen no response only the salesperson offering to give me back the 10 dollars I spent on the air filter which despite their oil change was ROTTED out. I would say anyone who buys anything used from them spend the money and take it somewhere else for a real going over first so you dont go through what I have . I really wish I had followed my instinct and backed out of the deal , and I wont go back to them nor my family for anything else.

I bought a 2010 Volkswagon Jetta from Nick. The buying experience was great and I would highly recommend Nick and Prime to anyone. However, I have had to deal with a Steven Wilson over a changed loan agent and refund and have been extremely unhappy. I have been waiting for at least 4 weeks for a check to arrive and in the mail today received another form to fill out that stated it would be another 4 weeks. I guess that is what they call the cost of doing business.
