"2008 Ford Explorer Diagnostic Service"
Went for a diagnostic. The code indicated that the fuel sensor rail detected about four issues. The service writer said the engine wasnt drawing air which is stupid because if an engine is running it is drawing air for combustion. So I asked him how, what and why and he didnt know. I know my way around but with the electronicsame on vehicles these days sometimes its a must to pay the high price to a dealer because they have trained technicians and applicable equipment. They suggested I get a new engine. Instead I approached it with the easy way first like does the lawn have gas in it. So I changed the sensor. The part that was throwing the codes. After seven hours of my time and bloodied knuckles I seemed to have resolved the issue. A few hours later the dealership called to ask if I was interested in buying because of the problem. Not a very good idea when youve been told that you need a new engine. I resent up selling and can spot it a mile away in fog.

Eventually leasing came up and at first I was apprehensive but eventually Adam assured me that it was not a bad idea. And Nick the business manager also set my mind at ease for a while. I thought about it that night and came in the next day worried about the monthly payments. Adam talked to his manager and eventually came back with a great monthly payment that made me very comfortable. It was a great experience and hope to work with them more in the future. Adam was a great salesman and recommend asking for him when you go in. I did not feel pressured and he set my mind at ease.

"Was Insulted And Argued Out Of The Facility"
The experience with this dealership was psychologically traumatizing. My car has a parasitic battery drain and bad connection to the alternator. The service department connected my battery to their "$20,000" computer which is "never wrong" and charged the battery, called me, and insisted the problem was resolved. Keith was my assigned associate and rudely cut me off at every sentence and argued with me if I questioned anything. I talked to the supervisor (Steve) for 1.5 hours questioning why they didnt fix the electrical problem. He put upon me a long story of how he has been in this business for so long and cant be wrong. He poked verbal insulting jabs and me as an engineer being technically insufficient in understanding the situation. The problem did not get resolved and I left this dealer with an overwhelming hatred of Ford, its products, and its customer-facing employees.
