"A Blundered Sale"
Unsatisfactory does not begin to describe my experience at this dealership. I went in to look for a 2017 Chevy Cruze with my wife. I was hounded relentlessly by the advertising department after submitting a True Car quote estimate. When I finally went to the dealership I was greeted by a salesperson who was pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately, the dealership seemed to be overwhelmed by even the smallest requests. I test drove a vehicle with the salesperson and found it satisfactory. Upon return to the dealership we discussed pricing and came to an agreement on what I believed was a good deal for the vehicle. The dealership then gave me an estimated time of over three hours to take delivery of the car. The salesperson told me that I should just return the next day to take the car. We signed the paperwork for the car and my wife returned the next day to pick up the car on Thursday June 1, 2017. I was away until Friday June 2, 2017 and did not drive the vehicle until that date. When I drove the car I noticed that it was missing many of the features that were in the car I test drove. I called the dealership and left a message with the manager that evening and did not hear back from them all weekend. On Monday June 5, 2017 I called the dealership again to speak with my salesperson, only to find out that it was his day off and I was informed that he would return my call the next day. The salesperson did return my call on Tuesday June 6, 2017. When I spoke with him I informed him that I was not happy with the vehicle because it was essentially a downgraded version of what I test drove. He became defensive and immediately claimed that I agreed to fewer options to lower the price of the vehicle. Although the salesman said he remembered having this conversation, minutes later he incorrectly identified me as another customer he believed he had dealt with the previous week. I had to remind him what car I was referring to and describe my wife and our trade in before he remembered us. I cannot recall at any time during our conversation that I was informed I would be receiving a vehicle with different options than the one I test drove. He informed me over the phone when I called for clarification that he removed features to get the car price to the range I wanted. Further, I cannot rely on the salesmans word that he informed me of this, as he could not even remember who I was four days later. I have never purchased a vehicle from a dealership when I have not test driven that exact car. Confusion in the wording aside, I think allowing a customer to test drive a fully loaded vehicle and then provide them with a downgraded version of what they initially experienced is extremely poor practice and unprofessional. Overall, my experience was extremely unsatisfactory and left me with a very negative experience of the dealership and car brand, as I am a first time Chevrolet purchaser. It upsets me greatly that I have to take this negative experience with me for the next three years of a lease with a company I now feel does not care about my satisfaction, therefore I cannot in good conscience recommend this dealership or brand to anyone. I feel cheated and purposely confused by the dealership, and that is the only recommendation that I can give to prospective buyers who ask my opinion.

Every time my son comes in to talk to a salesman, they are rude and unhelpful. Given the amount of business our family has done with Hawthorne Chevrolet, this is unacceptable . Your salesman should not prejudge anyone. With that said, your service department has been exceptional so far .
"Memorial Day _ Purchase"
We recently purchased (2) vehicles at Hawthorne Chevy, this past Memorial Day Weekend. Overall I will comment that the dealership was friendly and haggling was kept to minimum. My one comment is that they are very busy and did not have enough sales coverage. For them that is a good thing. For me, I felt as though the personal touch was severely lacking. After all I did purchase (2) vehicles. My salesperson was new and while he was friendly, the lack of focus (to me and family) was lacking. There were constant interruptions, whether it was due to another customer he was working with or someone at the dealership asking him a question about another deal, was not professional or courteous. I expect to be handled differently and would appreciate more attention. BTW...both times i visited we had appointments. I think you need to address working on common courtesies and polish. Please Note: General Manager Jeff was excellent!!!!

Hawthorne Chevy sales and service staff are the best Ive found anywhere and are true professionals. They know their cars and trucks, but more importantly, they know how to address their customers needs both when purchasing a vehicle and having it serviced. So far Ive purchased three cars at Hawthorne. Certainly check out other dealers. Youll find that many are rather pushy and dont genuinely care about their potential customers, unless theres a sale involved. Not only does Hawthorne have a larger selection, they know how to accommodate all of their customers desires. P.S. The cappuccino is also pretty darn good too !

The wait was a little long, but that was partly my fault for waiting until the last second to make an appointment. The Service Advisor did explain to me the better days to make an appointment when there is more than one technician on duty at the time I can make it. Overall, though it wasnt bad. I would definitely recommend Hawthorne Chevrolet!

Used car salesman John D. was trustworthy, not pushy, and upfront about the used car I was looking for and found on cars.com. Only thing that I didnt like was that car badly needed front tires and dealership was not willing to put them on as part of the listed sales price. If I would have agreed to the tires they would have charged me extra for them. The car shouldnt have been on the lot with that badly worn tires. In any event I left a hold and the dealership returned my hold as promised when I replied that I was no longer interested in the car mainly due to the tire issue.
