"I Would Recommend Allen Motors."
I recently purchased a 2009 Porsche Carrera S from Allen motors. I actually drove from Northern Ca. to purchase my car. I talked to Jim on the phone and let him know that I was interested and had been looking for several months and to be very up front, if there were any issues as I do not want to drive 7 hours for nothing . He assured me the car was perfect. After making the drive 7 hours I was a little concerned that they knew I had just driven all that way so they would not be willing to negotiate or feel they needed to give me good service. I was happily wrong as they answered all my questions tossed me the keys and said take it out and give it a good test drive. That doesnt really happen very often with a $100K car. Finishing up the deal they did negotiate on the price and made the buying experience a piece of cake. Once I returned home I took my Porsche into the dealer and had them check everything out and they came back with " its flawless, Perfect shape" . Jim was right, it is perfect. I would go there again with out a doubt. Thanks Jim!
"Beware!!! Jim Allen Is Your Typical..."
BEWARE: Jim Allen is your typical bait and switch salesman. We brought my wifes car into his shop for an estimate on fixing her side passenger mirror and left rear taillight. Jim inspected the car and then said hed call me back the next day, because his son (who was out of the office) is the one that deals with their vendors for parts. As promised, Jim called back first thing the next day and provided me with the quote – apparently, we needed a whole new back bumper, left taillight and passenger mirror. The prices he quoted seemed fair, so I dropped the car off two days later, which is how much time he said he needed to order the bumper and taillight and get them delivered. When I asked about the price for the passenger mirror, Jim said not to worry about it since his guy “could fix it for free… no problem.†Jim called later that afternoon and said that our car was done, but his guy couldnt fix the mirror. No apology or explanation of any kind was provided. I said, “okay,†and then asked about the cost of replacing the mirror. Jim said it would be $112 with parts and labor – perfect example of bait and switch. When I arrived at his shop to look at the car, I noticed the taillight he installed had what looked like a crack on the bottom. I pointed it out to him, and he acted as if I was crazy! He failed to notice any issue with the light (despite the fact that there was a HUGE DARK line/crack/something weird across the bottom area) or agree with me that it looked different from the original one of the right side. It was ridiculous! With hesitation, Jim said he’d request a new taillight the next day and “hopefully the vendor will send out a new one.†He made it seem like a 50/50 chance as to whether theyd follow through. Also, the bumper he installed and painted wasnt properly aligned in place and the paint had some bumps that definitely needed buffing. A few days later, Jim installed the new taillight and touched up the paint. Not a perfect job, but good enough so I gave him a semi-approval. FINALLY, as I was about to leave, he said to come back in a month and he give me a “free car wash and have my guy buff out the bumper some more so the spots and bubbles go away completely.†Fast forward one month later (this past weekend): I called Jim to follow up on the car wash and buffing, and his response was, “Who are you?†I recapped our situation and he said he “didn’t remember, but if thats what I said then, ‘okay.’†The proceeded to go on about how he’s really not sure what his guy can do about the paint because it’s already been so long. I asked if he’d be in on Saturday and he “wasn’t sure†– of course when I dropped the car off on Saturday, he wasnt there…and didn’t inform anyone that I’d be coming by. I dealt with another guy who was very rude and unhelpful. When I came back two hours later, the car wasnt even clean – a few spots were wiped off the hood but that’s it since the guy said he “didn’t know he was supposed to do a full wash.†My wife and I were so annoyed that we just got in the car and left… wasn’t even worth dealing with them anymore. In conclusion, I would never recommend Allen Motors, and I hope this helps! Sorry for such a long review, but I felt the whole situation had to be explained, so you could fully understand. IVE NEVER COMPLAINED ON YELP ABOUT A COMPANY BEFORE, BUT I COULDNT BELIEVE WHAT WENT ON HERE, I HAD TO LET YOU ALL KNOW, SO YOU DON’T EXPERIENCE THIS!
"Need To Make Sure That Car Has Been Smog Cert"
04-06-2014
I purchased a car there and within 1 month the "Service Engine Soon" Light came on the dash. It turned out that it had a defect which was the Oxygen Sensor part of the Smog system. By law, the seller has to have the car certified for smog. Apparently, this facility does not think so; because I called Rick at that facility and he informed me that I would have to pay for that. In my idea, NO OXYGEN SENSOR WILL GO DEFECTIVE 20 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO SPEND A LOT OF EXTRA MONEY FIXING ITEMS THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE, THEN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. DO NOT PURCHASE HERE!!!!!
"Jim You Are The Best Thanks"
I sent some very close friends(they flew from Vegas to pick up the car) to see Jim on a car he had on the lot......they bought it sight unseen (other than the pics on the internet)...Ive known Jim for a long time and when he said the car was right thats all I needed to hear....really a Good Guy..Ronnie F.
"Buying A Used Vehicle"
A NOTE TO ALLEN MOTORS, JIM AND GARRETT WERE AMAZING AS MY DAD WOULD SAY. I TRADED IN MY OLD VEHICLE THAT I PURCHASED FROM THEM 3 YEARS AGO. HE GAVE ME TOP DOLLAR FOR MY TRADE AND MADE ME A GREAT DEAL ON MY NEW JEED WRANGLER.
"They Dont Care About Your Business."
I had called to make an appointment with a salesperson after the dealership had failed to respond to my e-mail through Cars.com. When I got to the dealership, the 1 ssalesperson there was on break, joking around with a friend who was getting his car detailed there. My wife and I walked around the lot and noticed a lot of the cars there had recently had body work done on them. When the salesperson got to us, we had to wait for the car we wanted to see get cleaned up. Upon a casual walk-around I saw that the drivers side lower trim was coming off. The salesperson casually remarked that that had just happened because they parked the car on the street and that it had been sideswiped. (Miraculously, the only damage was that panel. From a sideswipe!) We decided to test drive anyway. We were not allowed to do anything other than go in a straight line. 7 miles down a four lane city street in traffic is not, in my opinion, a great test drive. The whole time, the salesperson kept talking and wouldnt be quiet enough so that I could listen to engine noise. I think they are only interested in selling the 2 or 3 high end cars that they probably got at an auction and refurbished. I wouldnt ever give them business, mine or an acquaintance!
