Our experience at Potamkin was great. I had seen a pre owned car on cars.com that I wanted to get for my daughter. The manager Mike greeted us warmly and promptly turned us over to Dave, the salesman. Dave was friendly and knowledgable and helpful in every way. We got a great car at a great price and my daughter couldnt be happier. A great car buying experience for a change.

"Exceeded All Expectations"

I was looking for an SUV with a 3rs row so that my 3 children would stop trying to kill each other in the back seat of our car. I had limited my options down to three vehicles and my mom decided to check their prices out on the true car website. She entered in the vehicles we were considering and her contact information (something I never would have done) but am so thankful that she did. Jack Schwartz, the general manager from Pitamkin Hyundai called us almost immediately. He gave me an amazing price on the Santa Fe SE, and even sent me a text message with a picture of the price breakdown. He was incredibly professional and patient as my husband and I changed our minds by first deciding to add the premium package and then changing the color we wanted. Since Potamkin Hyundai is a good 45 minute drive from our home my husband I went to a local dealer to see the Santa Fe to make sure we would be comfortable driving it and that it would be big enough to fit our family, and small enough so that my husband wouldnt hate driving it. We explained to the sales guy at the local dealer that we had already been given a price quote but he talked us into letting him give us a price as well. His price was over $6,000 more than the price Jack gave us! When we told the local sales guy that he was insistent that we were being lied to. This morning we drove into Manhattan and were ther by 9:30 (on a Saturday morning since Jack had suggested this time so that we could be in and out by lunchtime). The commute was really easy from Long Island as the dealership is located right next to the RFK Bridge. We were greeted in the parking lot by a sales guy, whose name I wish I had gotten, because his friendly demeanor didnt waver for even a second when we told him we were there to see a specific salesman that had been assigned to us by Jack. He even walked us into the showroom and brought us to our guy Brien Goodwin, at the far end of the showroom. Brien was incredible as well. He had our car down in the lot for us to check out before we even began going over finances. He arranged for another gentleman to appraise our trade in, and walked us through everything! He swapped our plates while we signed the finance paperwork, and turned on some cool features for us, auto lift gate and blindspot monitor, so that we could use them immediately rather than having to figure it out on our own. This truly was an outstanding experience. We got an amazing deal on our new Santa Fe, what we felt was a fair deal for our trade in, and as Jack said, we were home in time to feed our kids lunch!

Called on a Sunday and the GM, Jack Schwartz returned my call on the same day!! I gave him my requirements and he gave me a very aggressive and fair price. We closed the deal the next day. Potamkin Hyundai was one of the "certified dealers" that responded, however - Jack Schwartz called me to let me know that there were some new incentives he could offer. Those incentives beat the next closest True Car price - by thousands of dollars. I had to follow up just to ensure that this wasnt a dealer gimmick - and true to his offer, I got my new car for over $2,000 less than the next best True Car price. My advice? Contacted the dealership about a 2014 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T they had in stock, best customer service experienced till this day. Spoke to the General Manager Jack Shwartz himself about the vehicle whom gave me an out the door price and promised no games or nonsense, best price received in two weeks and four dealerships of searching. After setting an appointment, Ariel Rodriguez greeted me, showed me the car and allowed me to test drive. Ariel was very informative about the car and after displaying the car fax I was sold. The process took about one hour, and that included Ariel showing me the vehicle inside and out, and a nice sandwich and coffee from the cafeteria available just a few steps from the showroom. Best experience ever, very nice staff and vast selection of cars available, highly recommend to anyone in search of purchasing a vehicle.

I normally dont write reviews. In this case I strongly felt I should write one and there are two reasons for it - 1) I have been so pained dealing with car dealerships even when buying a new car, & 2) My car buying experience at Potamkin Hyundai (New York) was an amazing experience. I had lost hope that that there are any car dealerships in US that do business the right way. Most of them I interacted with were unscrupulous and scheming, with no respect for customers time. I was planning to buy a new Hyundai (either Elantra or Sonata) during the memorial day weekend and set up an appointment. We did our research and went there on Sunday. Within a minute the General Manager, Jack came and had a quick chat with us. He had us assigned to Dan. Dan was very nice, he heard us out and took notes. He showed us the options we were looking for and within few minutes we were able to finalize the car I was looking for. He patiently answered all the questions we had, provided us additional information he thought would be helpful and never asked us for any unnecessary personal/ financial information. At no point did he try to push us into buying anything we were not interested in. Our true car quote was also honored without any fuss. Jack and Dan are the best in business. They have the right values - integrity, respect, transparency and focus on extraordinary customer experience. I would recommend anyone considering/ buying a new Hyundai to Potamkin even if they have to drive a few extra miles - trust me, its definitely worth it!

Jack Schwartz and Derek Russo at Potamkim Hyundai were amazing! I got a new premium car for a really fair price. I can not stress enough how good these guys are. They worked really hard to get me in a car even though my credit history hasnt been the best. They were far from the stereotypical car salesmen, and never gave me the hard sell. They were knowledgable, friendly and most importantly attentive to helping find not just "a car" but the right car for me and my family. Im a really critical person, especially since just having a baby in August, I wanted something safe, affordable, and still stylish since Im a young guy. I always do a bunch of research before I buy anything, reading reviews and watching videos, and I always haggle. I got there and must have looked at every car they have on the lot and comparison shopped online at the same time. You wont find prices and service online as good as what they offered, I really checked. If you get a chance to do business with these guys, jump at the chance you wont find better guys anywhere in the tristate.

I brought my new Sante Fe Sport in for a tow hitch install and one other thing. General manager Jack Schwartz had made all the arrangements and personally met me upon arrival. Even though he was very busy, he found time to make me very comfortable. I chose to wait and was given a place to set up my laptop and work. The wifi connection was great. Jack Schwartz the sales manager is the best Ive ever dealt with in the industry. You dont find people with old fashion values anymore. He will do anything he can to work with you and does it with dignity and respect. I dont even live in Manhattan but when I got in contact with the dealer doing my online shopping he personally called me and got with me on the phone and I knew right away he was different and I was right! Carlos Camacho was my personal salesman and we cant say enough about him either. He was waiting at the door when we pulled up. I was recently in the market for a "previously enjoyed" car. I used USAAs car buying service to pick out a couple of vehicles that looked promising and started visiting the dealerships to see them in person. After one particularly disappointing visit to another dealership, I decided I would pop over the bridge and see a low-mileage 2011 Sonata at Potamkin. The price was so much better than everything I had seen that my expectations were very low. But the car looked spectacular and drove great, so I sat down with my sales guy, Manny Sutton (a very cool, down-to-earth guy), and a half hour later, I had bought a car. Everything was casual and pleasant. No haggling, no high pressure tactics to add things onto the sale. The price I walked in with from USAA was the exact price I paid. And the fact that it was Certified Pre-Owned was a pleasant surprise, too. Jack told me to call him if I found anything wrong with the car (or for anything else) and a few days later I discovered a minor issue with the fuel gauge. Jack had me bring the car in and took care of everything, even giving me a loaner so I wasnt stuck without a way to get around. The service department was friendly and efficient and kept me in the loop every step of the way during the repair. (Thanks, Barry & Nathan!) I cant imagine these guys make a ton of money on internet sales, but they treated me like I had bought a new $50K car. Overall a great experience!

Believe it, you can by a car by phone with a dealership. Youre always told if a deal seems too good too be true dont believe it, well I was just proven wrong. My wife and I live in Suffolk County and put in for a quote to Potamkin Hyundai, New York, NY. Within minutes the dealer called back with the quote. I could not believe the quote I was given, so the following morning I called back and talked to the General Manager and he insured me the quote was correct and then informed me about rebates that were available. We were also surprised with the low interest rate they offered. We still had our doubts, until the time we arrive at the dealership. They greeted us when we pulled into the parking lot. The customer service was outstanding, the car was right there for us to check it out. The General Manager came over to meet us and was willing to answer any questions we had. The two other gentlemen we dealt with (sales & finance) went out of their way by explaining everything. The bottom line is the entire staff was truthful, honest and made you feel relaxed by not playing games like other dealerships. I strongly recommend buying a car from this dealership.

I did not want to go to any dealer and go through the 10+ trips the saleman makes to the manager. The back and forth is very unpleasent. I did tghe internet research and sent out some price requests. This review is for my dealings with the stores general manager, Jack Schwartz. I submitted a request for a price quote. He called me within 15 minutes. He was up front and told me that he didnt have the exact trim package that I wanted but to give him sometime to find it. He called the next day and told me he found it. To come in and test drive a similar one he did have in stock. I was up front and told him that I didnt want any hidden fees at the end. He assured me that there were going to be none. The car I wanted had to brought in from another dealer. He told that if I decided to go with something he has in stock he can worked a really good deal for me. He wasnt bsing. While I went in for one type of car, my wife had her eyes set on a different type (of course). So I asked about the car my wife liked. After a while he came back with a price. After doing some research, the price was good enough that we decided to go with it. My out the door price was reall close to the numbers Jack had quoted me on paper. Again, I want to emphasize, this review is with my dealings with Jack.

My 92 year old grandfather saw an their ad on the paper and wanted to trade-in their 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander for a brand new model...My grandparents and mom went in the morning and gave them a good price for their 2008 outlander and told them that they have the color they wanted in their inventory...since they went there with my moms minivan, my grandparents went back home to Jamaica and got their 2008 outlander...when they got there, the dealership didnt have the car in their inventory which they told my grandparents they had...my grandparents were willing to purchase and have the money...but when the sales person realized they couldnt close the deal because they didnt have the car they started devaluing my grandparents car and told their dealership manager the reason why he couldnt close the deal because my grandparents car wasnt good to be traded in. My grandparents have only 12k miles, never had been to the mechanic, and it did have some paint job done, which you think would have a trade in value...since they couldnt produce the car they promised, my grandparents walked away...upon leaving the sales person told my 80 year old grandmother that he didnt want to see her face again...how could you say that to a customer!!! My grandparents only wanted to go this dealership because they claimed they have a large inventory and they would like to maintain their loyalty to Mitsubishi...if you would like to buy a Mitsubishi car, please go somewhere else where the dealership can deliver what they promised and respectful.

"Service Repair"

I had gone here to have my catalytic converter replace and was told I needs to replace 2 other parts for my engine. When I brought the car for the service they did not replace one of the parts I had purchased and they also charged me for that part twice. I was back a week later and they finally realized there mistake without tellig me. This was my First time here and last. I would suggest you look at all the work completed before you leave and make sure that you double check your bill
