Porsche Marin, formerly known as Sonnen Porsche, is truly the best place to get your Porsche. The whole buying experience is critical to me -- I dont want to feel bad parting with my money, and one little misstep is all it takes to ruin the whole experience. After a few experiences with Porsche Marin, I can confidently say that I will not trust anyone else with my dreams. Now, having said all of this, its worth noting that Brett Payne is my Porsche guy. Period. He is a die hard enthusiast, just like me, and is not a sales guy -- he operates more like an agent, in that he facilitates my transaction, he never "sells" me anything (I walk in already sold on what I want). His sense on building cars is impeccable, as well. Hes often steered me away from bad (options) choices, or towards good options to add -- I know a lot about a lot, but its hard to truly know everything. Brett makes it all easy for me. In terms of guys Ive worked with or interacted with, there are many other top notch guys on the Sonnen team: Emil Rustamov (Finance Director), Bill Lamphere (General Manager), and Mr. Peter Sonnen himself. All are class acts. Im heavily biased in that Ive had many positive experiences at Porsche Marin. Hopefully yours are equally positive, but obviously like anything else in life, your mileage may vary. Drop Brett a note (his email is on their staff page on their website) and have him help you with your dream -- just dont be an annoying client, please! Otherwise, Ill regret recommending him. ;)

They listen and get right to the point, but also take time to educate the customer on the product and process of buying a Porsche. Having spent sometime in the car business as a saleswomen and having bought many cars from dealerships, I know the business a little more than most. It is not too often that one runs across a salesmen who has a high level of integrity, the depth and breadth of knowledge and a genuine desire to help in every way possible to accommodate a clients needs. I consider myself to be very fortunate to have found ALL of that and much more in Andrew Proaps. He is truly a one of a kind! I met him about 4 years ago when I walked into an Infiniti dealership. I had a ton of questions about the IPL I was considering buying. He had a ton of patience with me and never once did I feel the pressure "TO BUY NOW"!!!! I bought my car about 9 months later and I returned to him and ONLY him. Fast forward, I found out he was transferring over to Porsche so I called him up, took a test drive in a 2012 997 Turbo S and said "where do I sign"!!! I will follow Andrew wherever he goes and will buy my next car from him. I tease and say if you ever decide to leave Porsche,I hope you go to a Ferrari dealership and NOT a PRIUS - toy dealership. It was nice to go back to Sonnen Porsche after they remodeled the Mill Valley facility. I was greeted warmly by familiar faces and the place looks great. There is a new customer lounge for refreshments while I waited for my Boxster to get washed after a service. This dealership understands customer service and I will continue to send my friends there. The new building is spectacular, and what can I say about those cars. There is no substitute

Initially, I went to the Sonnen location further North in San Rafael, not realizing that their original Porsche showroom (by Strawberry Village) had just completed their remodel and re-opened the week before. I found the staff at what is now Sonnens non-Porsche Used Car location very nice & helpful, even calling ahead to let the Sonnen Porsche dealership know that I was driving over, they told me to ask for Andrew, which I did. By the way, the newly remodeled Sonnen Porsche showroom is MUCH bigger than it used to be, easily housing maybe a dozen cars inside, its very sleek, with clean & simple lines and materials, very German. When I arrived, I showed Andrew the car I saw online (on my phone). Andrew apologized & told me that that particular car had already sold, actually a couple of weeks earlier, and it somehow had not yet been taken down from their website. Unfortunate, yes, but in my mind that was surely out of his personal control. He offered to show me similar cars on the lot, and we walked around, took a couple out for test drives & talked about the differences between models, features, upgrade options, how the convertible worked, warranties, etc. - I had a zillion questions, which he patiently answered. I did find another car which I liked, took some pics and left to think it over. Within a 1/2 hour, Andrew sent me a text that it was a pleasure meeting me - and to let him know if I had any additional questions. I sent him a text back a couple hours later - and asked if I could put a down payment on the car that afternoon, to hold it while I headed out of town to work for the next week - that I wanted to pick it up when I returned the following weekend. Andrew said sure, they could make that work - so I drove back to the dealership to do the paperwork that afternoon. As I was admiring what would become my new baby out front before I went in to do the paperwork, a friendly man with a German accent asked if I was buying it and I said "Yes!". He very sincerely followed up with a "thank you for your business, Im Mr. Sonnen" and shook my hand. I have to confess that I absolutely HATE buying cars and I have had some horrible previous experiences. That was not at all the case at Sonnen. The sales process was a breeze, everyone was super nice, sincere, patient, helpful. Even the financial/contract part was painless & pretty quick. Andrew paid awesome attention to the details - with near immediate follow up on my texts/calls/questions. Even AFTER the car was sold - when I asked how to order an after-market front license plate bracket/holder (via Parts), Andrew even made special arrangements so I could pick it up on a Sunday when the Parts Dept is closed - and later, when I texted him more questions about the phone/cable connectors in the console. My Sonnen Carrera GTS purchase was a GREAT buying experience - THANK YOU Andrew!

We met Andrew Proaps during the 3-4 visits to Sonnen Porsche, what a character, not to mention his full and complete knowledge of Porsches. He let us drive any car we wanted, explained (sometimes more than once) everything to us. PDK? Manual?, so very patient at every visit there. We became friends, teasing and joking around. When we decided on the Porsche Cayman S that we wanted, Andrew made the experience flawless, probably the easiest car we have ever bought. Hes the very first car person who actually stays in touch with us, sharing our adventures in our Black Beauty (his name for the car). Thank you sooo much Andrew, you are the best!!!!!!

I have to praise the amazing staff over at Sonnen Porsche: Stephen (sales consultant), Jun (sales manager) and Emil (finance director). Those people made my experience buying a Porsche couldnt be more pleasant. Stephen is the best. He was not only very knowledgeable about the car I am interested in, he also treated me like an old friend. He gave no pressure, and all he did was to make a customer happy. The next day when I picked up the car, he patiently explained everything to me, and made my experience buying my first Porsche at ease. I drove off the lot with satisfaction and a big smile on my face. Jun is truly a customer driven sales manager. He is easy to work with. He showed respect and professionalism. He gave us what we asked for and made the deal as smooth as possible. Emil made the deal even sweeter. Although I went in with pre approved financing, he went extra miles to find me a better rate. I couldnt be happier. The overall experience is superb. They not just sold me a car, they sold me their professionalism and friendships. If you are buying a Porsche, Sonnen is the place to go.

This dealership knows my Porsche - probably better than I do! ONLY because they care about the quality of serive they provide. They remember what they have done to your car, what service it has had and why. They will happily answer any questions you have. I bought my Cayenne S from Andrew Proaps and the whole experience could not have gone smoother! I text Andrew and he promprly replied and answered my questions. I then learned he was helping me on his day off! Everyone who works here genuinely seems to LOVE Porsche. They understand that it is an over-engineered amazing piece of machinery. For once, I walked into a car dealership and didnt know more than the salesman! Because of Andrew, their service team, their sales team and their parts department, they not only sold a car, but they have a new service customer and I already plan to buy my next Porsche here! Thank you and keep up the good work!

Got my fist, loooong wanted, Porsche a couple of months ago at Sonnen. With that kind of purchase, I was understandably ultra nervous. But, all my fears were unfounded. I met the sales person that I worked with, Andrew, previously at a different dealership. He made a special effort to stay in touch with me after transferring to Sonnen Porsche, and knew what I was looking for. Kudos to Andrew, he made the sale and a lifetime customer. When I finally showed up for a test drive, 10 minutes before they were supposed to close, he did not mind to let me test drive the car and stay really late. Once we started negotiating, he worked really hard to put me in a vehicle I wanted and at a price that was acceptable for me. Andrew navigated all aspects of the sales process expertly and in a really professional, yet leisurely and very personable way. The whole experience was very positive and I drove off happy, and not just because of the car but because of how I was treated by Andrew and the rest of the crew. As far as the deal is concerned, I have researched pricing nationally on the same model and similar miles/equipment both before and after the purchase, and found that the deal I have gotten was really good. Nothing beats driving away in an amazing Carrera S, knowing that the deal was great! The Sales manager, Jun, and the finance guy, Emil, were equally awesome. The whole process felt so uncharacteristically relaxed and not even an ounce of friction or undue pressure.

True story: talked to Andrew on the phone and agreed with a price. Told him it took me 1.5h to come over. Arrived and test drove the car and loved it. Just when I sat down and about to start paperwork Andrew told me the car was sold to someone else while I was test driving. "Thought we had a deal?" Heres what Andrew said "theres no deal till you pay the money". Stay away.
