The Volvo V70 has been redesigned for 2001. Major changes include a new body structure, fresh styling, a revised interior and upgraded feature content. Safety figures prominently with the new V70 (as usual), but it is also more sporting than before, especially in T5 trim.

• Superb comfort, plenty of safety equipment, solid construction and amazing braking ability.

• High price, odd control placement.

  My wife and I are used car buyers. Our 2001 XC70 w/ 28K looks and feels like a new car. Gotta love the looks of the XC70. I do not think of it as a station wagon, more a serious sports wagon. Rides like it is on rails. Car seems to like high speeds. Replaced original Pirellis with Michelins to reduce road noise. Car is now a whisper on the highway. Bought extended warranty which took care of some issues with suspension linkages. Service at Keystone Volvo is gold standard.

  I bought this volvo reluctantly because of worries about reliability; however, this wagon has FAR exceeded my expectations. It is quick, capable in any road condition and gets much better milage than my former suburban and sequoia. I have had NO issues with this car in over a year with the exception of burnt out headlights which I had read about- my dealer replaces them for free, so I dont mind! I will most definatley buy another one when this one wears out!!

  First Volvo we have ever owned. Bought it because of its looks and safety record. Have owned it now for over 3 years and, granted I only drive about 4000 miles per year, but we have not had any trouble with it. Take it for service to Volvo of Tacoma (WA) and their service dept. is outstanding. They go out of their way to make sure we are satisfied. Only repair was to a rattling passenger seatbelt which was fixed under warranty. Loved the car so much we bought two more Volvos for our kids to drive!

  I am happy with my V70 T5. Only a few minor problems. Drives great. Has a sporty suspension feel.

  I have driven this car in snow, rain, ice, and the deserts of AZ and nothing has slowed it down. I even drove it up a running river (not very deep) on a camping trip once. It holds my mtn bike if I fold the seats down, and Ive slept in it a few times too. Yeah, its a bit expensive to service and I think its a little funny looking but I couldnt be much happier with a wagon! Just be sure to stay up on your maintenance because its way cheaper than repairing something once it breaks.

  Volvos have been produced by swedish engineers whose soul purpose was to make a vehicle that would ultimately save your life. That was over 2 decades ago, since then they have layered comfort, reliability, handling, practicality and power upon the one thing that singles out Volvo from the rest: your Safety. The Volvo xc-70 turbo brought volvo into a dimension of automobile ingenuity. Riding this car in about a foot of powder in Utah, I almost felt as if I were on a snowmobile. Stopping short in snow, I wouldnt slide for more than a foot (at speeds of 20-40 mph). Lets not forget about its 220hp that leaves most sports cars in the dust! Volvo rocks!

  Contrary to the various negative reviews, my Volvo XC has been a joy to own! Very comfortable, safe, great AWD in the snow - and a joy to drive! Repairs have been minimal over my 7 years of ownership.

  Best car Ive ever owned. Superb for long trips. The only problem I have had is that the radio wont keep its settings. Others complain about headlight life, but mine were upgraded as part of a recall and have been trouble free. The interior has held up very well and people still complement the exterior styling. Obtain 22 mpg in mixed driving, 26+ on the highway. Replaced tires at 43,000 miles.

  This is the best vehicle I have owned from Mercedes to previous Volvos to Cadillacs. Winter and rain are its breakfast. Reliability has been outstanding.

  This is probably the best designed car I have had. Excellent ergonomics. Reliable. Lots of thought went into this car. This car is great on the highway and on dirt roads. The car has power, hugs the road during rain, and is fun to drive. After road trips, Im ready to do things. Great seats! The interior and exterior color scheme is excellent. Good to look at and functional. No sunlight reflecting off of the dashboard. Nice leather stitching and interior combinations. Great sound system. Just a good car.
