This Year's Model Updates:

All 2015 Venzas come with the same 6.1-inch touchscreen interface (albeit with split-screen, navigation and mobile-app functionality reserved for XLE and Limited), and a rearview camera is also standard across the lineup. Additionally, the towing package is standard on all V6 models, the entry-level LE is now four-cylinder only, and a simplified equipment roster limits options to a single package on the XLE.

Pros:
  • Easy ingress and egress.
  • Roomy cabin
  • Superb optional V6 engine
Cons:
  • Missing some of the latest safety features
  • Disappointing fuel economy with base four-cylinder engine
  • Spotty interior quality.

  • Love the look and the ride feels secure - 2015 Toyota Venza

Very happy with my new Venza. I dont get why discontinued in US. I highly recommend and think it beats the competition in both looks and performance. I test drove lots of other crossovers and SUVs and this was by far the nicest one. Firm steering and good acceleration.

  • Just what I was looking for my next car - 2015 Toyota Venza

You will not be disappointed with this vehicle. First of all, Its a smooth quiet vehicle, the seats are very comfortable for long trips. I was looking for a wagon type vehicle since I take my mom to doctors etc. This vehicle makes it easy for her to enter in and out of vehicle with no problem. Cargo room is ample. I transported 4 women and all their luggage to Las Vegas. I couldnt believe we all felt comfortable and still had room for additional stuff if needed to take. I received so many complements after returning from our trip. I just love my car, its so enjoyable to drive, love the surround sound, back up camera , and quiet air conditioner. Yes, mileage could be better, but I purchase the V6 for zoom!

  • Major front head on and side impact accident - 2015 Toyota Venza
    By -

The at fault driver ran a red light and we t-boned him at 30 mph. Total loss, front end half the size. The engine went up instead of into the cabin. Driver w/ only seat belt injurys and broken wrist and hand plus some bumps and bruises. Passenger who was 65" had knee injuries and bumped head on second impact. Feel like we escaped death very well and thanks to design and airbags faired very well considering. Will be replacing this tried and true very safe car w/ the same one. Had to right a review based on the accident but it has also been nearly the perfect vehicle.

  • Reliable but definite drawbacks. - 2015 Toyota Venza

We are a Toyota family. We bought our Venza new. It is a 2011 model. The drawbacks: much poorer milage than advertised. Our Venza did not come with a back up camera-and there is a definite need for one. Do not buy a Venza unless it has a back up camera. This car also has a somewhat rough ride. We replaced a Camry with this Venza and the Camry had a much better ride. There is manufacturing design flaw. This car car is subject to animals (rodents) getting inside the car going up through the motor area and getting in in the area at the bottom of the windshield. We have had to remove dead rats from the inside of the car and have used all kinds of repellent to keep them out-it is a constant battle. This is the first vehicle I have owned (I am 70 years old and have owned quite a few) that I have had a problem with rodents. The good qualities: Excellent reliability, minimum maintenance requirement, easy to drive, and usually good resale or trade in value.

  • Love The Venza but..... - 2015 Toyota Venza
    By -

I love this car for the body style, roomy, cargo space, it takes regular gas and handles like a car. While the 20” tires look good it gives a hard ride over bumps but smooth on smooth surfaces. The price is high for the interior quality and features compared to other Toyota products like the Camry or Highlander. Toyota says it’s due to keeping the vehicle light weight for better gas mileage. Makes sense. The front dash could be designed better with a larger screen and more features; the dash is big and wide enough to support it. @@@HERE IS MY MAJOR COMPLAINT: THE DUAL AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROLS – SUCK@@@. I’ve owned 2010, 2013 and now a 2015. Toyota has done something to the DUAL AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL and it does not maintain the cabin (inside car) temperature. It did in my previous cars. I would set the temperature at 72 degrees and it kept me very comfortable without any other actions required. On the 2015 Venza when I set the DUAL AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL to AUTO and temperature to 72 degrees everything is fine for a few minutes and then it starts to blow cool and then cold air from the front vents and it does the same thing as I increase the temperature until it gets about 88 degrees or higher. If I select the recirculate air button (the car with the “U” shape vertical arrow) the air only gets colder. When I put it on manual it still blew cold until it set it around 80 degrees and then it would get so hot that my eyes would burn and start tearing and my feet felt like they were on fire. Also with the recirculate air button I would get all kind of smells like a musty odor, one time like engine fumes another time like something burning. I’ve had my 2015 Venza since January 29, 2016 and it been in the shop more than I have driven it. They have duplicated and experience the problem but no one knows how to fix it. For a price tag of 41K I expect to set the temperature and for it to be maintained not to blow cold air on me to maintain the temperature. If I had known this I would have kept my older vehicle.

  • Just what we wanted! - 2015 Toyota Venza

This is a wonderful car! Easy to drive, comfortable, easy to get in and out of, and has all the goodies. The one thing that does not live up to manufacturer claims is the gas mileage.

  • Best Car Ever - 2015 Toyota Venza
    By -

I cant believe the quality of this car, but then it IS a Toyota. The ride is quiet and sound. The engine and drive-train perform flawlessly. Its tough to remark on how positive this car is as its tough to find any deficiencies. The only trouble we have it that it does so much. We are always going to the manual to find out "How do I ...". But this is something most modern cars and owners face. This is the best car weve ever owned and actually, ridden in.

  • Her name is Lemon Aid - 2015 Toyota Venza

To be fair, I did buy this car used with 90,000 miles on it. But it was nearly perfect looking, not a scratch on her, clean, and everything passed inspections. I really liked the car when I got it, fun to drive and comfortable, both front and rear. (the rear seats recline, very nice for long trips) not crazy about the stereo, but I found out this model came with the nav system, which was replaced with the CD player radio (oh well). Then the honeymoon was over and the problems started to show themselves. The road noise is deafening, my convertible mustang GT was quieter. Yes, the dealer put cheap tires on it, which makes it worse, but those 20 inch tires are louder than some of the trucks I have owned. other noise?, I read about this problem, and this car has it, something is rattling in the dash on rough roads, sounds like the front struts are about to fall out its so loud. Two months into ownership the car died in traffic, lights went out, dash warning lights all lit up, then it stalled, the alternator died. If I had taken it to a shop, it would have been an $900 repair, you have to take apart the front of the car, including the removal of the radiator, grill, wheel well panels, under car panels, core support bracket and on an on, just to get the alternator out. Next the brakes, the rotors were hardened and shook when you stopped, that started after 7,000 miles. while doing that job I realized the emergency brake was a tiny, old fashioned drum brake built into the rear disk rotors, which explained why the car wont stay in place with the brake on, which requires repairs (fine, high mileage car), and the pistons for the rear disk brakes have rotten seals, 97,000 miles, with rotten brake components! NEXT, at 105,000 miles, the passenger wheel hub bearings went bad. I have read about this, apparently its a very common issue nobody ever mentions in these reviews, or the maintenance reports. (the suspect is the 20 inch wheels on a drive train designed for a regular car) By the time that one is over I am looking at upwards of $350. (you need a machine shop press to replace the bearings, so you cannot just pop them in yourself) Another known issue, every 5-6000 miles the engine light comes on, because the VVT solenoid on the bank1 exhaust camshaft is tossing a failure code randomly, thats a $1400 repair at the dealer just for one of them, there are four in the engine! (once again you have to take apart the front of the car to get to it, takes literally 10 minutes to replace, 2 hours to get to it). You have to take the car to a shop just to check the transmission oil because on a $35,000 car, Toyota didnt bother to install a dipstick. You cant do it yourself without a code reader that can read live data, and a way to get the car off the ground, but level (a lift). I read about people that have had great experiences with these cars, did you write your review the day after you bought the thing? The seats can catch fire, the transmissions have a known defect that can cause a complete failure over time, the VVT solenoids are known to fail. the leather is terrible (I did read about this, but I thought it was just people being picky, I had no idea a manufacturer would actually use such a lousy grade of leather, I would rather have cloth) There are good things about it, I like its looks, Mine came with an aftermarket chrome trim option, I like the big noisy wheels, the stereo sounds great, though I would prefer a more modern system, I do like the big seats, more lateral support would be nice. The thing is fast, that V6 is amazing, and it gets decent fuel economy for such a big car, I average 23.3mpg, and when I reset the average on long trips, I get about 25 highway (flat roads) I realize I have a higher mileage car, but I just sold a 200,000 mile explorer that gave me less trouble over the last 60,000 miles than this car has in 15,000. I bought a Toyota because of the reputation, then after getting it and having all these problems, I searched for Toyota Venza Sucks, I will remember to do this next time. Its disappointing, I paid $2700 for the previously mentioned Explorer with 131,000 miles on it. I replaced the upper swing arms, radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, and regular maintenance in 60,000 miles, at 192,000 miles, it sent its first engine code. I expected more from a much more expensive Toyota. Hopefully it will go years without any more major repairs, and make up for the last four months. OR, hopefully it holds up long enough for me to trade it.
