Overview & Reviews
An old nameplate makes a comeback. The 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser is a new SUV that takes the philosophy of Toyota's old compact but tough off-roader and adapts it to meet the demands of the 21st-century consumer.
- Superior off-road ability, comfortable and supportive front seats, retro styling that captures the spirit of the original.
- Limited visibility fore and aft, rear-seat entry hindered in spite of reverse-opening doors.

Love At First Sight - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
By My FJ Cruiser - February 12 - 12:53 amEverywhere I go people stop me to talk about my FJ. I have the black cherry pearl and live in the mountains, so I rinse it off every other day so it will always look its best when I go out. Everyone loves the color and the different style. I used to own a 77 FJ 40 Land Cruiser which I dearly loved, so I really like the retro features. The ride is excellent. I will never take it off road, but I live 2 1/2 miles off the main road and we get a lot of snow, so I am anxious to use the 4X4. My dream car used to be a 4Runner, but this was love at first sight. Lots of power. My mechanic says real heavy duty frame and great engine accessibility. Love it.

More room for travel than meets the eye. Cool suicide doors for the backseats. Option to travel on backroads becuse of a great suspension that only the hardcore could love. Its honestly just a great looking car that is really suited for everyone to drive.

It is too COOL!! - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
By theran9 - August 30 - 12:40 pmI have only had my Fj for a week but I totally love it!! It is so retro but so new...it handles good and is so fun to drive..I have the 6 speed manual...fun fun fun, I had forgotten how much I loved a standard !! The Fj is sure a head turner...wow...I have had people follow me until I stopped, just to get a look. I think it is a vehicle that you either love or hate...I happen to love the old school look that Toyota has given it. My Fj is voodoo blue..and is so reminicent of the old fj40s...so cool..I love it, and the interior is so spacious you will not believe it. The model I have is a 4 wheel drive and has rear diffy lock!!!!.....lets see that on an Xterra...The Fj cruiser is COOL..

Sweet! - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
By dcarrington - August 18 - 7:50 amHave had the FJ now almost a month now. While the gas mileage isnt what my 05 Accord was, it isnt too bad for an SUV (at least that is what I am told). So far with under 1K miles on the engine, I am averaging about 19 mpg. The most obvious downer about thie FJ is that the engine requires the use of 91+ octane fuel. The ride is great, smoother than my Accords, and there is much less road/wind noise in the FJ as well. When you are in it, kinda feels like you are in a tank with all the short verticle glass around you.

Best of its class - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
By tntraveler4wd - June 27 - 7:13 pmThe FJ does it all. Ive owned a lot of domestic and foreign SUVs including Land Rover and the FJ is the best all round. After 25,000 miles, no problems. Comfortable on long trips. Complaints Ive read are too analytical. This is not an Aston Martin folks!

FJinDFW - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
By tejun - June 7 - 3:53 pmI love my FJ. I put a 2" level kit on the front and upgraded to 295/70/17 AT tires. Averaging about 19.5 mpg which I consider good for a 4x4 SUV.

Buying Another Brand New FJ This Week - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
By zackal - May 31 - 1:13 amLiving in The Great White North the FJ is an absolute treat in the winter months. Purchased the base model with full time 4wd and 6 speed manual. I have never been stranded or stuck anywhere (common sense it important when playing in any off roader.) On the highway you feel safe as a tank and lots of power to pull out and pass if you know how to properly match the tranny to speeds. Ive had 4 Jeep TJs (Wranglers in the USA) and still have one for my kids. The FJ is their favorite to drive over the Jeep except on top down days. I am just about to pick up another FJ, the exact same model, Yellow, base 6 speed. For the money, probably the best value on the road.
