This Year's Model Updates:

An old nameplate makes a comeback. The 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser is a new SUV that takes the philosophy of Toyota's old compact but tough off-roader and adapts it to meet the demands of the 21st-century consumer.

Pros:
  • Superior off-road ability, comfortable and supportive front seats, retro styling that captures the spirit of the original.
Cons:
  • Limited visibility fore and aft, rear-seat entry hindered in spite of reverse-opening doors.

  • Only vehicle I will keep - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I have bought a new car every year since 93 and now its over, I found a vehicle I want to keep. No other company makes an off road vehicle that is also stable on the road.

Ive had the FJ for two days. In short, so far so good. The wife was chattering in my ear about getting a new car with space. We both like the looks and she said it was a tonka truck come to life. It drives VERY nice for a SUV, absorbs bumps quite well. The water resistent interior will come in handy with our 20 month old son who thinks throwing things that tend to leak is an olympic sport that he is determined to master. We went with the silver for a more neutral color to go with the tough looks of the car. Crawl around under this rig and you find serious off-road hardware. It inspires one to seek the roads less traveled, or just make your own roads.

  • Best truck Ive ever had - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

This is by far the best UV out there for the price. I have driven full size pickups and other SUVs that cant compare for the fun of it. I have 3 dogs and the interior is superior for carting them around and clean up is fast. Put the back seats down and the cargo room is equal to my last short bed pick up. My Dad is a Cadillac man and he is even impressed with the FJ. Getting used to the lack of visibility took some time, but I wouldnt trade my Toyota for anything. It far surpasses the overpriced Tahoe I had. I love it.

  • Toyota has Won Me Over - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Well, its been about 6 weeks since I bought my FJ and I must say I love it. I had doubts about the blind spots at first, but moving the mirrors have helped out a lot. For the size of the car, it has good pickup and the fuel economy has been around 20 mpg to and from work.

  • Love this Vehicle - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

The FJ Cruiser is one phenomenal vehicle. The interior space is excellent and exterior just looks down right cool. Plenty of Horsepower, smooth transistion in the gear changes, ride quality better then expected in a SUV. The oversize control buttons make it great to operate in the winter when you are wearing gloves. Easier access to rear seating then expected while providing plenty of leg room. Gas mileage is not bad for a vehicles of this size and engine size. I am currently getting around 23 mpg if I run on 93 octane and 22 on 87 octane. (Manufacturer recommends 93 octane gas.) I did go with the 17" tires but the ride quality was better then the 16" tires.

Styling and optional equipment make the FJ Cruiser a best buy. Its about time that an SUV appears free of the gingerbread but equipped with the bells and whistles. This is not your Moms take the kids to soccer practice SUV. The FJ is the real deal.

  • I LOVE MY FJ CRUISER - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I first saw the FJ Cruiser on the computer last year, I loved the look of it and when it came out in April of 2006 I found a dealer and took it for a test drive. Thats all it took, Im hooked. I have the Voodoo Blue loaded with all the extra. I love the drive it gives you, not truck like but smoother and turning, you feel nice and safe. Hey its a Toyota how can you go wrong... you cant. I just know this is going to be a long lasting vehicle. Im driving in style. I love my FJ Cruiser. Vickie

  • Seven months old and still great. - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I drive it everyday and I dont have any complaints. I went on a long trip on the interstate and got over 21 mpg with a very big load and driving over 70 mph. I have not had one problem with the FJ at this time. I put some good BF Goodrich AT tires on it and put it in the mud as soon as I could. Not much of a challenge for the FJ. Cant wait to jack it up and give it an attitude. This is my second review and nothing to complain about now.

  • Awesome Fun! - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I first wanted an FJ after seeing the concept version, finally purchased in May 07. My black FJ has 14K trouble-free miles while touring 30+ Colorado backcountry trails. Amazing off-road capabilities; torque, power and fantastic gearing provide excellent rock crawling. The 6-spd, TRD exhaust and my K/N air intake provides a fun driving experience.

  • Sweet Ride - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

When I found out that I would have to be driving in areas that had a lot of snow I started looking for something in 4x4. I needed something that had a dry storage place since I am a traveling music teacher. The FJ fit the bill perfectly. I can carry all of my materials and it is really fun to drive. I also have a 2005 Tacoma and the FJ drives similar to the Tacoma. The biggest difference is the Tacoma is a little more on the nimble side. But this is a heavy SUV that does not drive like a heavy SUV. I am using regular unleaded and I get between 18 and 20 MPG. That is the same as the Tacoma. And it is cute too.
