This Year's Model Updates:

An old nameplate makes a comeback. The 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser is a new SUV that takes the philosophy of Toyota's old compact but tough off-roader and adapts it to meet the demands of the 21st-century consumer.

Pros:
  • Superior off-road ability, comfortable and supportive front seats, retro styling that captures the spirit of the original.
Cons:
  • Limited visibility fore and aft, rear-seat entry hindered in spite of reverse-opening doors.

This truck is just fun to drive. It would be nice to have a compartment to stash drive thru cash, like an ashtray, or something similar. But, if that is my only complaint, this has to be a well thought out vehicle otherwise. Cant wait to go camping with it.

  • Highly Recommend Buying The FJ40 Cruiser - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I bought a new Landcruiser in the 70s. That vehicle was a brute. It was built like a tank, heavy and real solid thick metal. It could crawl and go where only goats could roam. I was very happy with it. So I thought of buying the new version. Whoa, is this a refined 4X4 compared to the 70s model. It is so cool in looks and in performance. After purchasing it, I found out that there was a tire recall. I just brought it to the local dealer and they will replace them (5) for free. I am surprised that the previous two owners did not know about this recall. I also owned 4X4 Jeeps. They are okay for kids and adult kids who like the "old school" looks, ride, engineering, and performance. Switch.

Overall this vehicle is great. When I first test drove one I expected it to have a bouncy ride and be bad in the corners. Prior to this vehicle I had a 1999 Land Rover Discovery and it took corners horribly. Now the Fj takes the corners like its a car. The back-up sensors are great due to poor visibility in the back. I bought the car with 80,000 miles on it and it still feels like its a brand new car. The only thing it doesnt have that my Land Rover had was luxury, but if you want luxury thats what the Land Cruiser is for. Ive had no problems at all and probably wont ever. Pulling loads is a breeze with the powerful V6. It easily pulls my two wave runners. Perfect affordable offroader.

I traded in my 1996 F250 Powerstroke for the new FJ Cruiser - what a change. Very little road noise, excellent handling, reasonable acceleration, a stereo I can actually hear, and a smooth ride. I had a 90 4Runner, so I expect Toyota quality, and it hasnt disappointed. Surprisingly, my gas mileage has been better than expected - I recently got an average of 23 MPG on a road trip to southern Colorado, and averaged over 18 MPG pulling my Coleman tent trailer over Rabbit Ears pass up to Steamboat Lake. Ive only done a little 4-wheeling so far, and the shift into 4 high was a little harder than Id like, but I think Ill have this one for a long, long time.

  • One awsome vehicle - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Toyota hits another homerun with the FJ Cruiser. It is the perfect combo of ruggedness and superior handleing in an SUV. I have no complaints of any kind. The more I drive it, the better it gets.

  • I LOVE my FJ - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Bought the FJ two days ago and had to drive 170 miles back home. I had fun driving all the way back. After getting used to the blind spots and limited visibility through the rear window, I actually settled down and was cruising up to 75 on the road. It is mostly quiet, civilized and runs alongside many higher priced SUVs. My kids love the back seats and the suicide doors to get into the back. Overall fun factor would have to be a 9.5!

Have had mine 6 months now, pleased with everything about it. Off road and on. It will go where ever a Jeep, Rover or Hummer can go and since it is a Toyota it should out last them. MPG is as rated, sure glad there are more around now as I was geting asked questions all the time about it. It was fun to answer them though. Even the model FJ I got from Toyota was top quality like the FJ. It has been a comfortable vehicle for highway travel and amazing off road. Im hooked for sure. Thank you Toyota!!!

  • Great vehicle, will be very collectible - 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I have had my FJ for 7 months. One of the best vehicles that I have owned. Have had a 02 4Runner, 91 Toyota 4x4 Truck, and a 95 Jeep Wrangler SE. This vehicle blows their doors off. I cannot wait to take this on the Rubicon. Last year took a Wrangler on the trail, and cannot wait to compare this vehicle to the Jeep. As for day to day driving, this vehicle is great. Have also taken this on road trips from Austin, TX to New Orleans. Plenty of room for luggage. My father likes the head room, he is 6 2". I plan on keeping the FJ for a very long time.
