Buyers Regrets? None!!!!! - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By deaconbill - December 20 - 6:38 amPurchased our Avalon Touring Hybrid in May and was immediately very happy with the choice we had made. Looked at the Ford Fusion Hybrid - nice car, but not as nice as the Avalon, whose interior is greatly superior to the Fusion. Have driven 4,000 miles, a mix of highway and city, and am averaging 40.3 mpg. You cant beat that. Put everything together - styling, spacious and excellently appointed interior, plenty of cutting edge technical gadgets - and you have one outstanding package. The fact that it runs on regular gas as another plus. We considered a Lexus, but the Avalon was just too good to pass on. It has to be one of the best cars Toyota has made, and its made in America!

Better than Lexus - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By sgruberk - November 4 - 3:07 amTest drove Lexus ES350 and Toyota Non-Hybrid Avalon. Lexus was nice but I liked the interior of Avalon better, felt more spacious inside. I also thought ride was better with hybrid. It felt more button down to the road vs Lexus. Overall, I love cars quiet cabin yet the handling is very taught. And there is slight whirl sound when you are braking but I think that sound makes the car almost like its from the future. I am glad with the purchase and I recommend this vehicle to who are considering other similar cars in the segment.

epa mileage ultra conservative - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By mizzenman - September 16 - 3:28 amExpecting 40 mpg on my third day of ownershio I changed my style of driving to more suit the personality of the car. With three passengers achieved 43+mpg. Today, travelling rojte 9 NJ achieved 52+ mpg. Frigging amazing as I was travelling with the flow of traffic and at times accelerating beyond the lastpod. This is far superior to diesel poqedered vehicles. My comparison is based on driving from New York to Florida in a VW diesel Passat. So far, totally impressed. This is the sleeper of the century!!!

Great car- crappy nav system - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By kslj1234 - August 30 - 12:00 pmHere is a problem I never thought about before this car- how good is a near luxury vehicle if the computer runs crapware? I have had my esthetically pleasing and beautifully driving Avalon hybrid for less than a month and have had the nav system replaced, repaired and retuned twice. The Entune idea is a good one but I am convinced it is buggering up the on-board computer. Still not resolved but I am hopeful this can be fixed...

Retirement Car - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By lnofeagle - August 28 - 10:22 pmGot it in March 2013. Just hitting 10,000 miles. Found that I get better than sticker said for road. I have gotten from 39.1 for low and 46.9 for a high. City driving is another thing though. I have a low of 28.0 and a high of 44.2 in city only. 28.0 was in suburbs of Memphis, TN. I use a calculator as the computer always claims higher mileage except 2 times when it was low! Car exceeded my expectations! Substantial vehicle for the money!

Why buy a Lexus anymore? - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By kconlon - August 11 - 10:03 pmThis car is phenomenal simply put it is the smoothest, quietest ride Ive tested in the last year, including Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lincoln and yes, Lexus. If youre in the market for any of these, stop and test drive the Avalon before making your final decision. Our test drive so impressed we immediately eliminated Audi, BMW, Mercedes from consideration. Even the base model oozes comfort and confidence. So, to us, the final decision was between Lexus, Lincoln (we waited for the new MKZs release) and Avalon. After the MKZ came out, we made our decision, and it was really pretty easy. So, forget about your preconceptions about Toyota! This begs my opening question, why buy a Lexus anymore?

It has everything! - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By kingira - April 11 - 8:23 amI have owned a MB and a BMW convertible for the past 17 years. They both used premium gas and were fun to drive and handled great. The seats were comfortable, too. My new Avalon handles almost as good, the seats are even more comfortable (hugging me), and it does not use premium gas. The new electronics and technology is super. It takes several weeks to get to know how to use it but it is worth it.

Wow, nice job, Toyota - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By ryecatcher - March 17 - 3:51 amThis is my initial review of a 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid Touring model, after three days of driving it. I love this car. Its huge  about the size of the Jaguar XJ VDP s/c it replaced, with a bigger trunk, too. Its the quietest car Ive ever driven, too. How Toyota coaxes 40 mpg out of this size car, and still makes it scoot, is a mystery. Its got gobs of low-down electric torque. Even though 0-60 is around 8 seconds, real-world it feels much quicker than that. In-gear passing is stupendous  no waiting for engines or turbos to spool up, just mash the throttle and watch the mph climb. Styling: all subjective, of course, but I like the new design. Has a bit of Audi A7 in the rear.

GREAT CAR ! Minor Concerns - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By johnnj3 - January 14 - 5:07 amPurchased my 2013 Limited Hybrid in December. Now have a little over 9k miles. The mpg is definitely as advertised. It gets better after the break in period. Just did a round trip from New Jersey to Boston and averaged 40.5 mpg. The controls on the dashboard are extremely sensitive. It takes some getting used to. Over a period of time I learned to adapt. As others have stated, the ride can be a little harsh. However, this does not diminish my overall satisfaction with the vehicle. I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic Car - 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
By butch74 - December 22 - 5:45 amI looked at probably 15-20 different vehicles..but i liked the idea of not being held hostage to the price of oil and the fact that this car is a luxury vehicle and gets 40mpg city is just amazing. I bought the full tech limited package..Pretty much same car as Lexus ES Hybrid only around 3k less. To get Toyota Quality/Reliability coupled with 40/39mpg/Luxury trim options, high end tech is just a really deep value...I cant think of a better value in the space. Lincoln MKZ Or Ford may have simliar but how long will it last? How much will maint be? After owning a german car the last 13yrs which was great but had horrible electric/hvac issues such a breath of fresh air to drive a Toyota.
