Overview & Reviews
The Avalon has been redesigned for 2005 and now offers a more powerful V6 and even more room than before.
- Carefully constructed cabin befitting a Lexus, powerful and smooth V6 engine, superb ride quality, huge rear seat.
- Not as much fun to drive as a Chrysler 300, stability control can only be had on top-rung models.

Best Car Yet - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By GB - February 19 - 7:10 amOutstanding car. Was also looking at Cadillac but came across Avalon by chance. Took 1 test drive and never looked back. Great power, very roomy (including back seats) and spectacular dash design. Push-button start and door locks are best idea since the Model T. I will never go back to a "key" car again. Absolutely the best luxury car value on the market.

2005 Avalon - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By CymJym - February 18 - 9:46 pmThe 2005 Avalon is a much better car than the 1996 Avalon it replaced. Really love the new engine with 280 hp but I need to ease up on my right foot to get better mileage. It has been interesting to see the realtime miles- per-gallon and how driving in stop-and- go traffic reduces the average mpg.

Outstanding - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By Fran Patane - January 14 - 8:20 amThis is the best car I have driven in a very long tine. Comfortable, easy to handle, and I feel like I am riding in a classy car. People have told me they tohought it was a Lexus. The heated adjustable seats are a great feature. Controls for heat and CD from the steering wheel are so much easier then reaching over. This is one classy car. Top of the Line. Fran Patane

2005 Avalon simply a great car! - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By David Hendricks - December 29 - 10:06 pmWe drove our Avalon on a 2000 mile trip a week after delivery. It is a great car, everything we wanted in a quiet spacious package. Acceleration is surprising, especially merging back into interstate traffic after a rest stop. Seats are very comfortable...rated best ever by my wife! We got about 30 mpg overall! We felt so rested we drove "straight through" coming home, 850 miles in 14 hours.

Toyota Does It Again - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By dochurt - December 10 - 11:26 amWe own a 2000 Avalon XLS and it has been the best car we ever purchased. It motivated us to purchase a 2005 as our second car. The 2005 is bigger, quieter and gets better gas mileage than the 2000--about 30 mpg on the highway. For some explained reason, Toyota did not install the double sun visors with extensions on the 2005 model, which is my only complaint. Superb automobile--the best buy for your money.
