So I cant comment on the maintenance cost, other than the first two years being free. Nor on the resale value, which I hear is excellent, though I cant possibly know about that. I did not get the navigation, but with Apple Car Play, it comes with my iPhone which shows on the radio screen. I opted for the Premium because I prefer cloth seats. The Sunshine Orange with black cloth seats and orange stitching is gorgeous. The car handles like a dream, it feels like I am driving a sports car, or a race car even. It totally hugs the road, especially going around tight turns like freeway onramps here in southern California. The Crosstrek also has plenty of pep, so I dont know where Edmunds review is coming from. I have no problem getting on the freeways or toll roads. It definitely is not 10 seconds, or even close to that, for 0 to 60. And passing is not a problem. It easily handle 80 mph on the toll roads, including going up some steep hills. A friend rode in the back seat today and commented that the rear seat beat the rear seats in my 2011 RAV4 by a mile for comfort. I definitely see a long time love affair with this car coming up.

Not the fast vehicle out there, but it is very fun to drive. Very quiet and handles well.

  • Back to a Subaru - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

I waited for the 2nd generation 2018 Subaru Crosstrek to test against my list of competition including the: Lexus NX, Volkswagen Alltrack, Ford Escape, Honda Cr-V, Nissan Rogue and Toyota Rav4 & Tacoma. The Crosstrek has the best ride, its lightweight, fun to drive, tight in the corners yet compliant over rough roads. Subarus legendary AWD system and good ground clearance enable the Crosstrek to get off the beaten path, with the fuel range, and dependablity to get back to civilization without a toolbox, it even has M+S rated tires. Driving range is 450 - 500 miles with the 16.6 gallon fuel tank, important on cross country road trips and less wasted time at the pump. Additionally, light duty towing options and easy to install available 2" hitches for a bike carrier or platform rack, standard roof rails for boards, kayaks and cargo boxes. The Crosstrek is the right size for me, not too big, not too small, easy to park and fun to drive. Bottom line, its a well designed, great all around vehicle, fun to drive, comfortable interior, good fuel economy, dependable, high quality build, high resale value, low maintenance, low ownership costs, in an unostentatious package.

  • Great Car. - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

After 5,000 miles I have very few complaints. I would remove the fake shift points from the CVT and make the front seat bottoms wider. Other than those two things, I have no complaints and it is an awesome car. Ive done some off-road specific mods like aluminum skids and a 1.5" lift. I mostly commute in it, but will also use it as a lite overlanding vehicle. It does well off-road for a car.

This car handles well and the features are outstanding. I love the feel on the road. I do wish it had sensors to tell you how close you are to something when pulling in. The gas mileage is great and instrumentation is easy to read. The pickup is okay but it could use a boost.

  • Love my Crosstrek!! - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

Crosstrek are amazing cars!! Perfect for a single adult (either gender) or small family. I have leather and heated seats and my girlfriend and I really enjoy taking trips in it. Rides easy and you feel safe no matter the road condition that’s to the steering and AWD. I highly recommend!!

  • Subie rific! - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

First time Subie owners. Only a few complaints regarding interior- no place for my change or sunglasses! Seats arent that comfy and at this price point they should all have power seats! And a safety question - shouldnt the heated seats time out? Well, they dont. I do wish I had a sunroof but that package made the car too expensive and at that point I could have afforded a Volkswagen alltrac. I like the fuel economy, eyesight, lane assist, back up camera and the tracking headlights! The instrument panel is a bit fussy for me- TMI. Overall; for under 26k, this car has been exactly what we needed in terms of all wheel drive and safety features the only BUT is that I do miss a little pampering.

Just purchased the new 2018 crosstrek limited with eyesight. So far it seems a wonderful car. Very safe, comfortable ride, and it feel very sturdy. We purchased this for my wife, and now I may be a big enough fan to trade I my beloved Tuscon and get a Crosstrek also! I think we are Subaru fans now.
