This Year's Model Updates:

In an effort to get buyers under 30 into its dealerships, Toyota launches an all-new division called Scion. The brand will eventually grow to three models, but for now two are offered; one of these is a small but well-equipped five-door hatchback called the xA. Scion will use a no-haggle sales strategy and give buyers ample opportunity to customize their xAs, drawing upon a list of over three dozen dealer-installed options.

Pros:
Cons:
  • The cool stuff costs extra, modest passing power with automatic transmission, no cruise control.

I went to the dealer looking for an ECHO and came away with a SCION. The SCION is based on the ECHO (which I hear is being discontinued), but is so much better looking. Add to this all the standard options you get that you would have to pay for with the ECHO and the SCION is by far the better deal.

Awesome and fun car to drive. Lokk of it is weird at first, but then it grows on you and you really start to like it. Always get looks from other drivers. car handles beautifuly, with a good amount of power for a 4-cyl. Great gas milage too! Awesome car all-around!

Since we have a small family we were determined to get a hatchback, and the Scion is great. We are moving to Boston next month so this is going to be a great vehicle for us. Very usable and seems reliable.

Car is fun to drive, great gas mileage and fun to drive. Price is excellent for a Toyota Sister Co. Car looks small but the inside actually has good space. Trunk is small. I usually leave the back seats down for the extra room. Seats in the back limit visiablity out the rear. Overall a very good car.

  • Ill drive! - 2004 Scion xA

I find myself coming up with excuses to drive now or always offering to drive when a group goes out. I went from a Toyota Tacoma 4x4 to this amazing Scion because I am starting graduate school. I still feel like I pulled off a "fast one" getting all of the standard features (power locks & windows, AC, killer stereo, ABS, etc) for under $13,000 while getting close to $17,000 for my truck. Less monthly payments, less insurance, less gas expences. Pinch me.

  • A nice little car - 2004 Scion xA

Chose the Scion for the value. Love all the standard features, good gas mileage for the low price. Scion has plenty of power for a commuter car, find myself zipping at 75 mph without realizing it. Only negatives are the high back seats block the rear view and the speedometer could be a little larger.

Scion is commited to customer satisfaction. I`ve owned this car for over 6 months and have no complaints at all.

  • I love it, but... - 2004 Scion xA

I enjoy driving my Scion xA a lot, and I do drive a lot, which is why I bought it. I have had maintenance issues with the car, having to replace the whole air conditioning unit (warranty), brake problems (corrected by dealer), and a worn out serpentine belt already (changed ourselves), all with less than 45,000 miles. I have noticed some shift troubles with the car, most noticibly when it is cold of course, but at other times as well, revving the engine to over 4,000 rpms in 3rd. Other then that (lol) I love it!
