Overview & Reviews
For 2004, the 9-3 convertible has been given the same full makeover the sedan received last year. The convertible is available in Arc and Aero models and equipped only with the 210-horsepower engine. The highline Vector sedan has been renamed the Aero, and the midlevel Arc sedan now comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission, rather than a six-speed. Bi-xenon headlights are a stand-alone extra on all 9-3s, while rear parking assist is now available as a non-package option on the sedan. The Sport Wheel Package for the Linear and Arc now includes a tire-pressure monitor.
- Balanced ride and handling characteristics, frugal yet powerful engines, generous passenger room, class-leading trunk space.
- Some turbo lag at lower speeds, interior lacks upscale look, not as vaultlike as some of its European competitors, front-wheel drive a disadvantage against rear-wheel-drive competitors for performance fans.

Fun to drive. Great feul economy - 2004 Saab 9-3
By ND - May 16 - 7:43 pmThe car is extremely responsive, agile, and powerful. It has a great fuel economy (> 33 mpg on highway). The interior looks cheap and feel cheap (but not as bad as GM or Ford). The dealer has been very responsible. I had an A/C problem 3 weeks after the warrantee expired. The dealer picked up the bill. It has 4-year, 50000 mile warranty.

Very Impressed - 2004 Saab 9-3
By scotland9820 - May 2 - 10:00 amI was looking for a car that had great looks, was unique and relatively rare, 4 doors, and great fuel economy. This Saab was perfect. You dont see them all over the road, They have sleek lines, a very european interior, and overall I am very impressed with the way it drives, handles, rides, etc. This is a great car!

Love it - 2004 Saab 9-3
By Davidr - April 21 - 2:00 amI was going to buy the Audi A-4 Convertible, as I really disliked the look of the 2003 Saab. My fiance really liked the 2003 Saab and not the Audi. Well, I decided to take one more look at the Saab, and found the totally redesigned 2004 was there and blew me away. But it and expensive- no deals. SO, back to the Audi, which is slow and poorly equiped(1.8T) or very expensive (3.0). So, knowing how cheap they were selling the Saab 2003 at the end of the year, I held out and as expected in two months the price dropped about $150 per month on the new program. Since, it has gone down anther $30! Drives like a dream!

love it - 2004 Saab 9-3
By saabnman - April 21 - 2:00 amlove this car, have had it for a month, well built, better than I thought it would be when I purchased. Only problem is that I wish I had considered Saabs prior to now. Have been driving MB E320, prior to that BMWs & Volvos - this is the most fun drive of all of them.

Great Car - 2004 Saab 9-3
By Bryan - January 3 - 4:43 pmI bought my Saab 9-3 Linear after driving a Honda Accord for 6 years. I have always loved Saabs. The car is fun to drive and handles beautifully on the road. It is a bit bumpy due to the lower profile and the sport tires. The interior is great, cabin is very aero dynamic with a great sound ssytem and full curtain air bags. Standard with anti lock brakes and stabila-trac handling. This is a great sporty car that appeals to those who want a quality car at a reasonable price that says luxury and sporty.
