Montanas break!! - 1999 Pontiac Montana
By missywi - March 29 - 10:00 amBought used with 47K miles on it. Luckily bought the Gold extended warranty on it otherwise wed have had to pay over a 1K in repairs after only owning it for over a year. Water pump went, 2 weeks later the lower intake manifold gasket had to be replaced. The airbag light kept coming on and off then finally stayed on. Turns out GM knows that this is a defect(corroding wires) but considered part of the warranty. Could have to have it fixed again in 6 months at over $100 a pop. This is a safety issue. If the connection isnt there for the airbag, if in an accident, the airbag might not deploy. The left ti-rod needs to be replaced.

Id buy it all over again! - 2000 Pontiac Montana
By ddoiron - March 11 - 10:00 am98,000 miles and still loving this van. Drives great, good visibility, captains chairs in middle row are wonderful for kids on road trips. Seats are light enough for easy removal and fits 4x8 sheet of plywood.

I love my van but... - 2005 Pontiac Montana
By GM emp - March 9 - 8:06 pmI have had the van for little over a year. Bought new. Been in to dealership 3 times for brake work. Still squeaking. Power sliding door alarm goes off for no reason when driving, have to pull over and reclose. Gas gauge not working properly. Also, no room for legs in 2nd row. Took seats out and its wonderful. Dealership nor I could find a plug in adapter. Not as comfortable as old Venture van. Guess it doesnt matter, GM is not making minivans any longer.

Wont get fooled again - 1999 Pontiac Montana
By mv - March 9 - 10:00 amBought my 1999 Montana new in 99 and since then have had to repair/replace the entertainment system , power door , and transmission and the vehicle doesnt have 45000 miles on it. Was hoping to drive it into the ground (10 years or more) but I dont believe gm builds anything of that quality any more. My previous vehicle (a new 94 gmc jimmy) had an engine which seized at 60k under warranty but the dealer couldnt fix the engine properly and I had to dump that gm headache too. Until gm starts building with a little quality in mind I wouldnt consider their products . If you want a minivan spend a few $ more and buy a Honda like Im going to have to .

Wont get fooled again - 2003 Pontiac Montana
By mv - March 9 - 10:00 amDont buy a Montana.Big Mistake. In the 3 years since Ive purchased mine Ive had to replace the entertainment system, the side door didnt close properly, and now the transmission is failing at 45,000 miles (all on a car which was bought new that has met all maintenance schedules).GM cares nothing about quality or reliability of their vehicles and their dealer service departments are incompetent at best and criminal at worst. My last vehicle before this was a new "94 GMC Jimmy whos engine seized at 60k under warranty and the dealers service department never fixed properly. Spend a few dollars more on a Honda and leave gm (garbage motors) alone

Nice Ride - 2005 Pontiac Montana
By Vicki - March 8 - 7:10 amThe SV6 is a very stylish fun to drive vehicle. The kids love the dvd system, and all the captain chairs and soundsystem. The low step in height is great. Front visiblity is perfect while not so in the rear(head rests get in the way) The power rear doors are great. The seats are super comfortable much more so than others we test drove.( My husband & I test drove them all I bet). We didnt mind them not being stow and gow as they were so much more comfortable. The only complaint is maybe power when on the highway fully loaded with people & luggage felt a little sluggish but other than that perfect.

Fairly happy. - 2002 Pontiac Montana
By 2 time montana_owner - February 25 - 2:00 amOwned a 99 Montana that I traded because I had the infamous head gasket leak at 82k miles that cost $1200 to fix. Pontiac ended up reimbursing me for the repair. I bought the 02 with an extended warranty, though.

Boo hoo - 2001 Pontiac Montana
By bonnie - January 25 - 6:10 pmSeems like everything that could go wrong has, trouble with wipers, front and back, air conditioning, brake valve, air cond, again., plastic bearing, and they now say I need to replace head gasket still I am paying on the bank loan for another year and a half, not sure if I want to risk not fixing the van because I do not have the money, or chancing I might be able to hold out until it, s paid for

I live in Alaska and Im ruff on stuff!!! - 2004 Pontiac Montana
By jaykeller - January 16 - 12:55 amI bought my montana with barely any miles on it it was in pristine condition! After having it for five years I hunt, fish, camp, and haul quit a bit with it! I have a one place trailer that my Harley(motorcycle) Skidoo(snowmachine)and polaris(4wheeler) all fit on nicely (one at a time that is) and i dont even know they are there i make 1600 plus mile long trips in the thing in Ak witch isnt known for its nice flat hyws if you know what i mean. Then I slap the seats back in it and its my olladys soccer mom wagon! I have had to replace a few things on it but mostly because of operator err like I said I am very hard on things and yet this mini van seems to keep right up with me! I Love Mine!
