Underrated!!! - 2000 Pontiac Montana
By Dr. RWK - August 22 - 11:16 amNo problems here! Cannot understand why this car is not highly rated. Handles well, very quiet, adequate power, smooth ride. No problems in 60,000 miles. Normally would be trading about now, but we will be keeping for a while. Best van we have owned.

I Love My Pontiac Montana - 2004 Pontiac Montana
By Millie - August 18 - 2:00 amThis Van rides like a cadillac and is easy to control.I like the idea of not having to turn on the lights or worry about shutting them off.I am glad that I bought this van I even Like it better than the Ford Windstar Which I also liked But this one beat ford out.

Sporty!!! - 2005 Pontiac Montana
By Delaware Hobbs - August 10 - 6:16 amI knew as soon as I saw this coming attraction that I would have to hold off purchasing a new minivan until it arrived. I bought a Montana in 98 and knew that I didnt want another minivan unless it was another Montana. I was not disappointed by the look and style - Its the only truly sporty minivan as far as Im concerned. I didnt plan on buying leather this time but I felt the cloth interior just looked too cheap. It seems to handle fine but even though the engine is 3.5 instead of 3.4, Im not convinced it performs better than my old one. There are little things I miss such as a light in the glove compartment, aux pwr outlet up front, dash space, reclining rear seats, see below

sv6 supporter - 2005 Pontiac Montana
By mommymobile - July 29 - 10:40 pmThe price is very affordable, the insurance is great also. Its great on gas. My children love it, my 3 year old gets in and out herself, the power slider door is wonderful when dropping off or picking up at school, no need to get out anymore. I love driving it.. it sure beats the suv I used to drive... so take it for a test drive... just make sure you get a sales persons thats right for you, and take the time and check out the dealership first.. ask around if anyone has dealt with that dealership. (I had a bad experience)

love our "new"/used 2002 Thunder - 2002 Pontiac Montana
By royalfamily - July 17 - 5:36 amWe recently purchased a 2002 Montana Thunder and its such a treat to drive, with the dvd, dual sliding doors, heated/power leather seats, rear ac/radio controls, etc., etc. The ONLY concern weve had is that the power sliding doors dont stop closing if a body is in the way..could see that as very dangerous for a smaller child. Also love the rear park aid warning signal!!!! This was a lease return with fairly low mileage and is in pristine condition. I find myself finding reasons to drive it! Anyone else have the Thunder edition package?

None better - 1999 Pontiac Montana
By Pontiac - July 1 - 6:26 pmWe bought our Montana new and have had very good luck with it. We just got back from another trip to NY and got 28 mpg.. very good for a 4,000 lb safe vehicle. We get approx 30,000 on a set of average tires and 30,000 miles on brake pads, unlike stories I hear from other vans. The body looks like new. The galvanized body panels are the best, they resist rust better than any other metal. The original stainless steel exhaust will last much longer. Its still in great shape. The interior does not show wear after all this time. The best interior material we ever had. Our Montana has moved, hauled and transported many kids and material. We will be buying another Pontiac.

Pontiac Montana - 2002 Pontiac Montana
By Jim McCarty - May 28 - 3:20 amThe only real complaint I have is wind noise around the sliding doors. It is so loud carring on a conversation is difficult. Is there a way to tighten the sliding doors so they close tighter?

So Far, So Good... - 2001 Pontiac Montana
By Auntbetty - May 25 - 3:13 pmWeve had our Montana for 5 years and it had 60k miles when we bought it. Now it has 175k on it and seems to be doing ok. No major repairs and have avoided the head gasket issue. The intake manifold gaskets had been done before we bought it. Basically just routine maintenance (brakes, wheel bearings in front, tires). Its not as tight as a Honda or Toyota, but thats a given so dont expect it to be since youre paying thousands less for a comparable year. Fuel mileage is very good for a van (20-24mpg depending on season).

Great Van - 2000 Pontiac Montana
By abtowell - May 17 - 10:00 amGreat two year experience - only problem was a misaligned hood latch and a flimsy cup holder.

montana - 1999 Pontiac Montana
By Sam - May 15 - 10:26 pmbought it used, transmission tanked at 103,000, no warning, rebuilt it, two more transmission rebuilds, broken rear wiper, broken power window, all in 40000 kms of owning. Nice to drive, but not reliable mechanically, left me stranded several times, and the window drives us nuts, $700 later, and it still sticks, have to realign manually for it to finish going up. Gas tank level suddenly off, ran out of gas twice before we figured out that problem, not fixed.
