This Year's Model Updates:

The Grand Prix underwent a redesign for 2004, but those familiar with the big sedan will find its blend of performance and comfort hasn't changed much.

Pros:
  • Strong supercharged V6, nimble handling, attractive gauges, easy-to-use controls, big trunk, fold-flat front-passenger seat.
Cons:
  • Build and materials quality still needs work, tight backseat, noisy engine, not enough storage or cupholders, no auto climate control.

I drive the GTP model and my wife the GT2. Both look sharp and much better than 98 GT and SE models we had. Car got great ext’r changes, but GM took away some of the nice features from the old cars. The GTP burns more gas than GT2(let me think maybe the 260hp engine is at fault here).I love to drive this car and my wife loves it too, even though she had a problem with the CD changer.

  • The best 4 door - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

The 2004 Grand Prix is the best looking four door car out there. I love the car inside and out. The GTP has a lot of power for 260 hp and when the 303 hp 2005 GXP comes out, that is going to be crazy.

  • It has always been good to me - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

This is my second Grand Prix and I love this one just as much. The mechanical quality has always been great, although the interior quality could be improved. Fun car, Id buy it again if I had to do it over again, although Id probably spring for the GXP with leather.

I have had my Sport Red GTP for about 6 weeks and love it. It is a big step forward over the previous model years. I love the look of it from the outside and inside. Any time there is a body style change if you loved the old style it takes a while for the new one to grow on you.

if you are over 5 feet tall you and you want the fastest sedan available for under 31000 then get the GTP. otherwise you will end up with less.

This car is outstanding!! The performance, handling and comfort is exceptional. The styling is great and I regularly get comments from people such as "nice, nice". Best automobile purchase that I have ever made!

  • Good Value and Performance - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

This is my third Grand Prix GTP as this is what the company I work for issues (Revious years were 2000 and 1997). The 2004 GTP w/ Comp. Group Pack. is the way to go. A little more refined versus previous years though drivers seat is mounted way to high for a sports car. Tap Shift works well and is fun to operate although not required to get the performance.. The Supercharger (GTP) is and well worth it. Heads Up Display is great and controls are improved. I do miss the Auto Night Vision Review Mirror Light Dimmer though.. GM please send me one. Performance is excellent and very responsive, ride is stiffer, steering is tighter and brakes are improved.

  • WOW! - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

Overall, a great car. I would admit that it would have been nice to have cup holders in the back seat and an auto dimming rear view mirror, but these are just minor details. Great handling, fast - maybe too fast. I love the new look. I suppose for someone who traded in a 99 Cavalier this is a slight step up in quality and performance!

If you rate this car higher than 7.0 youre either lying, work for gm or probably both. I really wish I waited for more incentives. After 12K miles Im still hating NO auto-dim mirror. Loud engine is loosing its gusto by the month. Monsoon speakers are terrible. Turn on the rear view defroster and my stereo turns into static. Time for ANOTHER trip to the dealership. My 00 GT was roomier and more comfortable to drive. AND nicer styling! My head constantly rubs the ceiling in the 04. I could use the seat to go another couple inches back. Rear seats are a joke. Open sunroof is loud. POOR QUALITY! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!! Would NOT buy this car again.
