This Year's Model Updates:

The Grand Prix underwent a redesign for 2004, but those familiar with the big sedan will find its blend of performance and comfort hasn't changed much.

Pros:
  • Strong supercharged V6, nimble handling, attractive gauges, easy-to-use controls, big trunk, fold-flat front-passenger seat.
Cons:
  • Build and materials quality still needs work, tight backseat, noisy engine, not enough storage or cupholders, no auto climate control.

This is my third GM car since 2001, and this is by far the BEST CAR OUT THERE. I made a very the choice that I HAD TO HAVE THIS CAR after having one as a rental. And I am so happy that I did. The way this car rides is awesome. I suggest that you seriously consider purchasing this car if youre currently searching to buy a car. You will not be disappointed

I bought my 2004 grand prix gt used last winter i had the dash airduct cover replaced because i was warped. It has some interior rattles but other than that it has been a reliable car. The EPA ratting for this car is 20-30 mpg the best i have ever received is 26.7 and i drive it 27 miles to work each day. I personally think that they should change the rating to 19- 27. It is a fun to drive car the seats are a little hard. For pontiac owners it might be ok but im not a true fan of this car. I plan to trade it in on a Chrysler 300 or Dodge Charger next year.

Good power. Good mileage. Average over30 if you stay at the speed limit. Wish the GTP model was better identified from the exterior. Hard to tell it from any other Grand Prix.

  • American Beauty - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

This car is the most beautiful car ever GMC produced. I was always very cautious about buying GMC car. , but a latest show in Boston area expo this model strike me and I decide to buy one, Oh ofcourse I was looking at the Maxima 2004. I took it for a ride and I was not empress at all, all I can see is a big dash board in front of me, it reminded me like the beatle. I am amazed with this car engine power, performance, handling, taking off, stoping you name it, I fully enjoy driving this American Beauty.

  • Perfect car in every way - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
    By -

Had this car for 5 years & I still look forward to driving it.For something with such good exceleraton that gets 30.5mpg/24 city who would what a 4 cyl thats not half as fun to drive. I can leave my SUV at home and still haul 8 2x4s with the folding pass. & rear seats. The only problem in 5 years were a water leak @ On-Star antenna & front seat cover tear.Car is tight,no rattles or wind noise just sorry to see Pontiac going away.

  • Gran Prix GTP Limited Edition, 2004 - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

I recently bought my first Grand Prix because I wanted a sports sedan instead of a sports car. The Grand Prix fit all the requirements: looks and sounds like a sports car yet can carry another couple when necessary. The wide track handling reduces body roll and, with the supercharged engine, makes it a fun car to drive. As my husband says, "It really scoots!"

  • SWEET RIDE - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

This is the first pontiac i bought. I love the car, glad i bought it. Dont understand some of the reviews complaining about loud road noise. I think the road noise is very quiet. More than enough headroom and the back seat is huge. performance and handling excellent.

Within 6 months of purchase I had a warranty replacement of the rack and pinion steering that also caused me to have to replace the tires, which was not covered. I also had a warranty replacement of the a/c condensor. Other than that, it has been basic maintenance, but with the warranty issues, the quality expected just was not there.
