This Year's Model Updates:

The Grand Prix underwent a redesign for 2004, but those familiar with the big sedan will find its blend of performance and comfort hasn't changed much.

Pros:
  • Strong supercharged V6, nimble handling, attractive gauges, easy-to-use controls, big trunk, fold-flat front-passenger seat.
Cons:
  • Build and materials quality still needs work, tight backseat, noisy engine, not enough storage or cupholders, no auto climate control.

This is my second Grand Prix. Owned a 2001 and then bought this 2004. I travel a lot and end up renting many different types of cars. The Grand Prix is by far the best car you can buy for the price. I look forward to my next one. The current car I have is a fusion orange GT2. Ive owned it for just over a year and have put 30,000 miles on it. It had 20,000 when I bought it. I havent had any mechanical issues with the car so far. Ive only had it at the dealer once and that was for a splash guard to prevent water getting into the car from the under carrage.

Purchased my 2004 in 2008, from a local auction with 104k. It has 192k on it. I have gotten excellent service. Oil changed every 3k miles at dealer. All maintenance done at dealer, the usual wear. Travel south 3x yearly, without problems. Very reliable vehicle. GM stop making, why. Would or will purchase another and keep current.

This car performs very well. It is my first Pontiac, my previous cars having been Buick Regals and an Olds Cutlass Supreme. Appearance, handling, and general driveability are excellent.

43,000 miles: 2 oil leaks (oil pan gasket & lower head gasket), 1 power steering leak (w, 1 transmission leak (cooler hose). I purchased this vehicle brand new. It operated fairly well for the past 2 years, until May of this year, when I noticed an oil leak. Fortunately, it was still within warranty so I had it fixed (oil pan gasket). Recently I noticed another oil leak, and transmission leak. I brought it into the same dealer that repaired the oil pan leak. They informed me that my lower head gasket, and power steering pump are now leaking. How strange that all these leaks occur so near to the 36,000 mile mark (warranty expires). Never again will I buy GM!!!

I purchased the 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G. If you have the money spring for the Comp G. A lot of fun to drive. Excellent exceleration, good looks and great stereo. Have always bought Pontiacs and this is a huge step in the right direction over the 2003 model. Now if Pontiac would just drop in a six speed stick. Fuel for the Soul.

I just bought a new 04 grand prix. This is the second one I have owned. It is a very fun car and has impressed me very much. It has a sporty feel and look to it with the power to back that look up. It also is comfortable and can make a nice family car. The price of the car by far beats Chevy cars and your getting the same engine. I think you get more for your money on this car anyway. My only negative remark from my experience is about my dealership. But as far as the car you cant go wrong on this one.

Handling, attention to detail and quality, awesome power with Comp G,XM satellite, safety features including side airbags for front/rear seat passengers, sporty looks make this an unbeatable car at this price range! This is 4th GP Ive owned and by far the best of the bunch.

I drive over 40,000 miles a year. The car is very comfortable and has plenty of power. I have over 90,000 miles on the Grand Prix already and have not done anything to it except regular maintenance. Average mileage on the highway is 27 mpg with air on. Great car! I strongly recommend.
