Overview & Reviews
The Grand Prix receives only minor changes for 2001 including a Special Edition appearance package on GT and GTP models and optional 16-inch three-spoke aluminum wheels. The OnStar system is now available on GTP models while SE models receive a slight front-end revision.
- Strong powertrains, sporty styling, loads of features, fun to drive.
- Overstyled interior, cheap-looking dashboard plastic and switchgear.

Coolest Car Ive Ever Driven - 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Happy Happy Happy - June 1 - 11:46 amIve owned a Jaguar and a BMW and this is still a far better car. It has timeless styling and the dashboard isnt boring at all. I bought it four years old and have only done routine maintenance and replaced the brakes. It is a great car. Mine is a black GTP. The supercharged 3800 is excellent, powerful, and still gets great mileage. Buy one if you have the chance, but I would only go for the GTP.

Watch out for the catalytic conv!!!! - 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Stan the man - May 26 - 5:23 amI bought this brand new when 0% first came out. Good car overall. Luckily, I have escaped the tranny problems so far, well see. All you owners out there, BEWARE. The catalytic converter on these, the GTs, and the GTPs are bad. There IS a warranty to 80,000 miles on the SE, and they raised it to 120,000 for the others. I have an SE. Got it fixed at 79,600 miles, didnt even know about the warranty. sweet! Oh, by the way. This thing cost 21 grand new, and is now worth 5. Can you say "Honda" from now on!!!!!!

140k and counting - 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix
By darkcarnival - February 11 - 11:23 amI have had this car for almost 8 years. I LOVE this car. Yes, there are a few things wrong. The windows clamps do break and the windows fall. When its 110 out, the plastic does not hold up to the heat. The other thing is the Intake Manifold Gasket. Yes.... Replaced twice... My mechanic flushed all the DexCool out and replaced it with normal coolant. It has been that way for 5 years now, no problems. I love the way the car drives, looks, runs, and the power it has. I am so sad that they did away with Pontiac :-(

Nice car - 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix
By PGPS - June 1 - 2:00 amSo far this car has been great to me, I bought it 9 months ago and it was nice to me. The acceleration is really good for a heavy sedan, the handling is excellent, its very spacious inside. I have 17 inch wheels on it so the ride isnt that smooth but a lot smother than other cars with 13 or 14 inch wheels. The sound system is awsome. I like the six speaker CD player and even on noisy radio stations it plays clear. So overall the car is awsome I had no problems with at all except change the oil and filter. What I dont like about this car is the where the cup holders are located, its hard to swith gears when its open, other than that its a very nice car.

Great Car - 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix
By RavenZ71 - October 21 - 4:46 amThis is a great car. I recommend it highly! I bought mine about a year ago and since then Ive been really happy with it. Unreal pickup for this "Old Person Car!" (Im 23 yrs. old.) It sounds amazing too. Its got the Eaton Supercharger stock on it, which provides your pickup with that "jet plane" sound when the rpms are racing.
